    Instructional videos on drifting are my favorite. Clutch kicking and left foot braking are hard to describe in terms of re-positioning the car, without the listener actually experiencing it first hand, nice job.

    I learned to drift with a nitrious single cam. It taught me how to get to limiter then drop clutch. I often am heel toeing the gas pedal to the floor on entry as I adjust the front with the break. Anyways... I now have a vq35hr in my car, I run enough grip that it can just hardly spin the wheels at lower rpm. This is a must for me, I will never build a car that can light off from low rpm. That limiter clutch drop is one of my favorite things in drifting.
    Also, awesome video once again. I would love to see a detailed break down comparing the 240 to the 86. How the chassis are different and drivetrains, also even the quility of build from 20 years of rnd.
    I think a lot of s chassis guys are interested in the 86 as something that mighr handle similarly.

I was like.. duh yeah man we gotta look out those! He then said... "look out your doors window and stare at the wall." Love informational videos like these.
    The way you describe how the drivetrain is loaded up when you’re on full throttle before releasing the clutch is kinda how I drive my “low power” car. I grip it up so as much as I can so that I can get as much speed as I can out of it. But many times it’s gripped to the point to where I need to be full throttle before I release the clutch or else she’ll bog a bit.

      Yes sir, I can elaborate for sure!
      If you hit the track before I get to make another video .. just remember "Look where you want to go" and "look ahead" once you have made it into a zone, you need to then move your focus AHEAD. I know it's easier typed out than in reality. But you gotta train yourself to look ahead.
      Once you download that enough I bet you pick it up super easy.

    Setup video for suspension and explanation would be awesome! I'm doing my first grassroots comp series this year and keeping up with higher hp cars can be a struggle without a proper suspension understanding. Also... n e r v e s at the line. How do you get out of the anxiety waiting for your battle?!

    • @144.natehamilton
      @144.natehamilton  Před 3 měsíci +2

      I got you on the setup info. I will make sure to note and talk about it asap.
      As for the nerves at the line... you gotta control your mind and breathing. Meaning, I personally try to visualize and "keep my brain busy" by repeating in my head the run and line i'm about to take.
      Also a trick I have taught myself..Is sometimes during qualifying I literally think its just a practice run. Telling myself, I GET to take a run on a track that clean and cleared for me.. this "fun run" is going to be a blast.
      So tons of mental strength and you will be just fine with no nerves.

    • @144.natehamilton
      @144.natehamilton  Před 3 měsíci +1

      In a way this all makes sense. Meaning, when I do clutch in the wheels are technically slowing down adding grip. Meaning, you will need commitment with the chassis speed to accomplish this "move" For example: if Im "in that berm / rut feeling" in a turn. I cant just clutch in to extend my line.. It's more of a entering a zone setting line situation vs a i'm in the zone let me slip clutch to reach. Hard to type that thought.. but I will address this again in the next episode. Thanks for keeping me sharp!

    • @144.natehamilton
      @144.natehamilton  Před 3 měsíci

    So I know you say this is for beginning drifters, but competition and tandems aren't really for beginners like me. I am completely new to drifting and bought a 2023 GR86 that is stock to go drifting only. I keep spinning on turns and I'm having a a hard time transitioning. Would you have any insight besides seat time to help me improve?

    • @144.natehamilton
      @144.natehamilton  Před 3 měsíci +1

      Yo! I also have a stock 2023 GR86, love this car so much. I do have many ideas that come to mind to help you. I will do my best to address these thoughts in the next episode. BUT FOR NOW... imagine.. DON'T DRIFT, JUST LEARN A DONUT. Meaning, wherever you are practicing, just try an accomplish one task of drifting vs thinking of all the transitions and cool shit others do. My first donut in my GR86 was literally turning the wheel to the left, create the smallest circle .... do like 3 circles just driving the car... then apply throttle until the rear end steps out.. balance that step into a simple donut drift. This will help you feel throttle control and teach how to counter steer. Hope that helps!
