Heavy Equipment Rebuilds Coquihalla Hwy
Vložit
- čas přidán 23. 11. 2021
- It's been a crazy week since all the destruction to the Coquihalla Highway. It's hard to believe that it can be rebuilt anytime soon. The pipeline crews are determined and very well equipped. They need to bridge this gap at Sowaqua to get at their line, lucky for us this is also our way to town. This video puts you in the middle of all the excitement, if you like big machines this is for you!
The amount of pipeline hands and operators working on every aspect of this re construction is insane. We have 400 to 500 macro employees alone. Then keiwitt and bonatti has there guys as well. It's deff full bore out there and I am glad to be a part of it. People don't think there is much going on but the amount of work we accomplish on the daily is breathtaking. Pipeliners and highways can move dirt. And move it fast
I understand. BUT. Government full on spending should be out, im talking like 40 d11s 8 6018 and be one scooping 40 tons. We do have the resources, government should be buying over asking price not even thinking. This is the money pit of canada. Like for real, this money is way way bigger than Toronto. Whatever doesnt happen before january 16th or so. you are in for big big big frost trouble. frost ground doesn't compact
Thanks for all you're doin! Stay safe!
Incredible work, thank you for keeping us connected! Stay safe, blessings!
This makes sense.
I am amazed.
More of this please. It puts the hope back in all of us to see the rebuilding.
That's my 🇨🇦 🍁 CANADA that's my nation strong and free!! Proud to be Canadian together we can take on what ever is thrown at us.. God bless
You’re providing more information than global or CTV , great work and thank you!
Mainstream media is too busy reporting on paid for government propaganda fake news..
They can't have pipeliners look good either. Bless them guys! Right folks in the right place at the right time.
@@jondoh5961 please stop pretending to be a victim.
@@jondoh5961 you are absolutely right! Dont listen to these liberal leftys!!!
@@normansawatzky4778 I know I'm right..the mainstream media has taken millions if not billions from the Canadian govt..they're going to tow the government propaganda and the sheep will be clueless as always and believe all the bs lies..
Fantastic video! only problem, too short, lol. Pretty much the only videos around of what's going on to actually work on and fix the highways. We always hear stuff is being done, but I'm out in Abbotsford, besides what I hear on the news I really don't know much of what's going on to actually fix things. Even though I typically take highway 1 to where I and my family go for vacations, it's still cool to see the work being done on the Coquihalla.
I may go down there and volunteer to help, I have a lot of Elmer's glue and zip ties
@Monster & ms monster Michelle todd ok bitter whiner
@Monster & ms monster Michelle todd This is concerning to many in the industry, the lack of skilled labour who are serious and want to work. If you are young and looking for endless work around the province, get yourself into heavy equipment school, get as many tickets as you cam ( incl first aid,,say level II ) You will be well paid for as long as you want. The need is staggering. They have kids straight out of school running haul trucks outside Golden, a very tough section to work.
Thanks for posting Monster, especially about the meth etc, it's all through the commercial construction industry as well, not everyone bu any means, but enough to make many sites unsafe and very inefficient.
@Monster & ms monster Michelle todd Now is your time to write that exposé! Get the ear of an investigative reporter and go to town! Nothing ever improves if nobody speaks out! You have the opportunity to make a difference!

Don't leave. We like your reports. follow and document this rare historic project until the highway reopens. Your videos will eventually be a big part of the valuable archives on how BC came together in the great flood of 2021 and you are there witnessing the repair of the most important corridor for Vancouver, supplying Gas, oil, trucked goods and people to the lower mainland. It's your duty and a great privilege to take on this task.
Chupathingy is right. These vids are going to be archived for sure
I think he's local, so not leaving.

Greatest point I've seen!
Agreed fully. Surprised to see this left out of the mainstream news of this disaster.
One thing about you Canadian's, you conquer & overcome. I'm proud of you folks for your courage to get thru this. I driven the "Coq" & it's a beautiful highway with wonderful scenery & friendly "Canadian's" along the way.
Damn Skippy. 💪
Thank You for the consistency in updating the public! Blessings to You and all crews
Awesome coverage guys!! Having pizza delivered via a chopper sure beats skip the dishes ! Stay safe👍🇨🇦
I am glad you guys were at the right time and the right place. SteBros and the pipeline workers. To see first hand the damage 300+ millimeters of rain in a matter of 1.5 days. That is 12 inches. can do to the bridges and roads you cross each and evey day. I am proud and thankful for all the workers who have stopped the pipeline and who have worked round the clock to get our country connected again. I am praying for all of you out there. That Jesus will protect you and give you all strength. none of you will get hurt as you rebuild. 💪🙏.
Excellent work everyone out there.
Rebuilding our roads & making it safe.
So that many are able to reconnect with thier loved one's again.
Thank you for your hard work.
Oh 🇨🇦🍁Canada🍁🇨🇦.
Awesome heartwarming video Thanks to SteBros At this point the crews working 24/7 are the hero's of our province Awesome job guys hope you can rebuild it stronger than before because we probably need it.
I have a close friend who helped build that hiway start to finish that’s an incredible engineering feat. And in true Canadian style it will be built again
Glad to see you documenting this whole process from it went down to being rebuilt. Subscribed to keep following the build. Thanks to all the workers. And thank you for showing this to us. I’m sure we’re finding hope thru your lens
Wow! What a fine tuned and choreographed rebuild 👏 kudos to all the workers and helpers since this terrible event, and heartfelt love and best wishes from Australia for those affected ❤❤
Good work guys. Thank you so much for your awesome work. Please stay SAFE!!! 🤞🏼🙏
Thank for keeping the updates coming, I'm looking forward to seeing the progress on the rebuild. Maybe I'll be able to make it back to the Okanagan for Christmas 🤞
Doing the lord's work. Thank you for sharing, however can you also upload a long, raw footage version? You're recording history and this is important to document and share. Thanks again. Great vids
This has become one of most important CZcams channels for British Columbians. It's nice to see Government CAN act quickly and in a big way when necessary. Love to see that meaningful, productive work is being performed by hard-working men and women. Please keep the great videos coming. Subscribed.
You Canadian's are very resilient & it's good to hear. As the saying goes " When the going gets tough, the tough get going". Best Wishes to all of are Canadian friends & neighbor's.
Blessings on the work crews👼. BC needs its highways east and west. Daughter went out to buy milk in Penticton just after the deluge. Stores she went to had none … so she bought eggnog for her family. Thank you movers and shakers behind fixing a bad situation. My heart goes out to those with flood damaged homes. Once you move bk in … Get a dehumidifyer or similar and keep it going 24/7 to fight mould. Goodluck to all BC’ers.🌈🙏🤞🏻🍀
Please post more vids of the rebuilding!
WE ARE CANADIANS! I knew that we would get it together. THANK YOU ALL OF YOU WORKERS.Stay Safe
Good to see the improvements now instead of the now old wash out video's. Progress, Big Machines. Awesome.
Awesome effort by all involved! What blows me away is the railroads and just how fast they are back on…line…after their bridge destructions.
Little known hwy 8 Spences Bridge to Merrit is absolutely devastated. I hope they receive the same effort to rebuild that the others here are getting.
Keep up the great videos to keep us informed. A shut out to all the wonderful crews working their butts off to restore this critical highway.
Thanks for showing some real work getting done! CBC only shows sand bags being filled.. cuz reporter doesn't want to get his boots dirty! Lol
Good to see progress being made. I live in the US but I feel for the people of BC and the Maritimes in the last few weeks. Hang in there guys! Thanks for posting.
you guys are doing a great job , Thanks
Great coverage 👏🏼 👍🏼
You are documenting history.
Better than fake news.
Way to go guys. A lot of "get er done" going on there, going to be a long grind for a lot of talented people.
Thanks for bringing us this coverage....I could watch this all day!
Awesome videos. Great to see all the activity. Thanks for posting it.
Incredible progress in such a short space of time. Keep sharing. This is awesome to see!
I could sit here and watch 12 hrs non - stop of this. Brings a refreshing feeling of Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh. Hard to explain.
You guys be careful up there man! My wife and I live just on the other side of the border in Maple falls Washington. we're bracing for this next atmospheric river. It's supposed to be a two punch blow on Abbotsford scheduled to get five to six inches of rain. Be ready you guys God bless you. You've been an inspiration to me and my family.
With all the doom and gloom the Canadian mainstream media continues to show this is something people need to see.
I am from Ontario watching these videos.
All you EMS, Construction Crews and all Volunteers rebuilding deserve Hats off from the rest of us.
It amazing how quickly things are happening. Now if only we could figure out a way to apply this hustle and work ethic on more normal days. Society is enough of a slow moving disaster on a good day and there's a lot left to fix after the bridges go back up.
If People dont quit wearing their masks were gearing up for a fast moving disaster...
Yes, open ended budget to cover insane hourly rates. Just get the highway open again. The cost of repair is a drop compared to the cost of the highway being closed.
It's easy to get this kind of hustle, just get 400 bored pipeline workers who can barely build a pipeline due to the overbearing regulation and then tell them they have almost free reign to rebuild the highway. You guys jumping for for joy just digging a hole out there.
@Monster & ms monster Michelle todd We need to restore the transportation links as soon as possible. As I said, the cost of repairs is a fraction of what the road and track closures are costing us.
Since we are takling about stupid spending, how about the CERB program? Spending money we don't have and forcing our grandchildren and their children who are not yet born to pay for it is way beyond stupidity, it is criminal.
You see road crews can move fast; of course it's helpful when there is zero traffic to deal with!
I dont think those are road crews. lol Those are the pipeline guys.
Love it. You guys are just so on top of the game and get on with rebuilding the infrastructure. Well done, keep safe and WELL DONE.
love the video thanks for the update wish it was longer
Been a heavy construction fan since watching from a baby stroller, now an old retired highway engineer. Thank you, watching what can come together in these disasters is always wonderful. And for the time being, the public will be on your side! Of course it can’t be perfect but down the line as the emergency repairs are rebuilt as needed, it will still be appreciated!
Hey this is really good coverage! So good to see the lads working hard, thanks to everyone for all their work.
You workers are f*ing amazing. You are showing why you are an essential service.
I am enjoying see what is going on in your area since i can personally go up to see it for myself. Please keep documenting the happening.
Awesome. Boots on the ground. Thanks! Sooke BC 💚💙
"So tell us Mike, what has happened?"
"Since Sunday night a lot has happened." Thanks Mike.
The modular road is pretty rad though.
🤣😅
Those are swamp mats for soft muddy ground. Probably made in Kelowna.
Great job, kick as you guys will have this done in 3 weeks . Jam on we are all pulling for you.
Keep up the great work guys! I would love to see more footage of the equipment working.
Thank you for the updates on the highway.
Beautiful work boys keep it coming!
These are awesome videos guys! Glad to see you are all safe after this chaos!
Mike is like that cool uncle everyone loves to have beers with
Yes W,S. . I hope Uteha and Mike get the Pizza that Chuck promised . I hoe everyone realizes that Ste Bros is why This is being fixed so Fast . The World can see the Damage thanks to the xlant Reporting .
Just watched this here and turned on the 6:00 CBC news and saw parts of it again. They did credit you guys - great job folks.
Really liking your videos on the damage and rebuilding of the Coq as well as life impacts. Very cool point of view.
I could watch an hour of it.. ha ha
That is some truly excellent coverage you've been providing on your channel! Much appreciated!
Great videos hope all is well.
Keep up the great documentation of this highway repair. It's great to know things are being done and your videos help keep the construction crew dog f'ing to a minimum
knock'n 'er down and build'n 'er up at the same time, nice work guys !
Good to see Folks , impressive . God Bless . Prince George
Your short videos provide way more information than the mainstream media, thanks.
Awesome video. Thanks for the content - you guys seem to be the only ones posting what’s going on up there. Would love some longer videos with more footage.
Excellent video! Thanks for giving us some good news. Stay safe workers.
I've been dying to see reconstruction efforts this footage is amazing.
Keep up the great work and all the best.
All fueled by diesel, awesome!
Exactly! :)
I would love it if you guys keep daily updates on this project! Maybe more of a broad view of what is happening and what still needs to happen. Thanks guys!
Good job guys. Respect.
It's amazing to see just what we can achive when we work together towards a common goal.
Kudos and a big thank you to all the hardworking crew out there determine to bring things back to normal.
And kudos to the reliable fossil fuelled equipment that makes this possible. I had to bring this up because the coast is infested with ecco-nuts as you know. And none of them are calling for Electric equipment.
Awesome to see this moving along in a timely fashion.
Great job to all involved!
Thanks for the updates! youre like the only ground info we get!! theres very little air footage with the cloud cover there. i cant believe the tv news etc arent all over you for video updates! theyre just JEALOUS!!
River looks at workers 👀
Yay they’re bringing more toys!
So awesome to see! Thank you!
Looks like they are taking the upcoming rain pretty seriously! It would suck to have all their work and more get wiped out by this next batch of rain.
Thanks for the upload and getting / on location.
Thanks for posting this video, man. It's very interesting.
Thats what I love about my province in an emergency situation..NO fucking around, no heels dragging. Just a ton of "drop everything else youre doing boys its not important, we got an emergency here, province needs to open up again lets git `er done!" Like the Highway Thru Hell motto says "closure is not an option".
Why aren't those Roads being Rebuilt with Green Energy ??
Such a sick Toyota!!!!
Well
Just in case we humans think we are in control? Mother Nature shows us the real power. Nothing like feeling like a insignificant speck on the planet.
Amazing effort by all involved.
Very interesting and informative. Thank you.
Thanks!
Thank you to all who are working on the recovery efforts!!!
wow already starting! Impressive!
Awesome! Kudos to everyone repairing the highways. Be safe.
Best of luck from New Brunswick.
Thanks for these videos. Also you're cute and absolutely love your Canadian accent... hehe...
Great video thank you.
I love all of you and love your vids !
Damn! Great work, people in good spirits. So proud of them workers and engineers.
That's what I like to see! I have 8 packages I need to ship fix those roads!
Good stuff. Would love to see more.
1:51 it always amazes me how dexterous those equipment operators can be with that heavy machinery.
Good thing we still have a semblance of a petroleum industry to fuel all that equipment
Nice to see guys.
Cool as hell too see, making me wish I was involved in the rebuilding
You are really going to need all the help you can get to restore the Coquihalla Highway to what it is supposed to be.
❤🌷CONGRATULATIONS !!! GREAT JOB !!! THANK YOU !!! MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN !!!
