It's funny how this all came full circle:
-You (ZeRo) praised his skills in a previous video.
-He (Onin) didn't want anything to do with you, requested for you to remove your video, and your clarification led to hate from the Smash community.
-Now he (Onin) is the one enduring hate from the Smash community and despite the past, you are lending a hand by offering him this advice of help.
It speaks a lot about your kindness and how you're willing to help no matter what may have happened in the past. Hope he sees this and rethink his stance on you so he can be open to this advice you'd given him.

Smash players are the same people who:
- Sent death threats to the game’s creator for adding a DLC character they didn’t care for
- Sent death threats to their games’ top players for being top players
- Boo’d and harassed young players because they didn’t like the characters the players used
- Bandwagon on unproven and unsubstantiated allegations
- Ban people for the most asinine, politically-motivated reasons
This is not an exception - this is the norm in the Smash community. Share this. Spread this. Burn the community down.
Oh as if this is the only community that does that. How dunce and oblivious/naive are you really
@@denjeez If you want to name another community who is immature to the degree of sending death threats to the game's creator because they were pissed about the addition of a DLC character, please show me. Until you can do that, sit down, eat some cereal, and shut up DUNCE.
And rebuild it with smart people. Melee was better at being a community because people like Zain (the best Melee player so far), Axe, AMSA, Mang0, Hax etc were skilled yet not turded on.
I am kinda disappointed in Hbox now because of his anti Steve and Kazuya agenda and also thinking of banning handicapped Melee players etc.

This is why you don't let children become obsessed with video games. Because they have no control over their emotions and will lash out when something doesn't go their way, or in this case, when their favorite player gets destroyed by someone using a character they don't like.
It's not just children. And that's the worst part.
At this point, the smash community must learn to grow up. I hardly care about drama and rather watch the matches and praise the players that provided their heart and soul into their character. Even though there are some playstyles that will always be a nusance, there is at least two options that they can do about it: Learn the GOD DAM MATCHUP, or take a break from the game till the player gains the confidence again. I praise the steves and kazuyas and sonics, do not care how obnoxious it can be of their playstyles, I only see a test of whether that person has a mental fortitude or not to deal with them and come on top. Praising the speech Zero and hopefully we all strive to do better always.
One absolute truth of the world is that it's always your responsibility to make sure you are safe. With police force or body guards, the person who can respond the quickest to you being in danger is you.
Ah yes, one of the greatest franchises with one of the most deplorable fanbases period.
You say that like its a good and easy thing?
Its bc its a kids game, and most of the players are teenagers, and teens these days are awful compared to other generations. I tried to get back into the scene at 26, and immediately quit bc of it
@Curaga Ifrit has nothing to do with being a teen of this generation. The hardcore smash community just attracts the worst kinds of teens possible.
The socially awkward self centered rude stinky kinds. Kind of like chess in a way that it attracts people who have major autism. Extreme hyper fixation over one game.
@@curagaifrit6829 I'd say thats only partially the problem. Id say the bigger problem is people getting way too fucking obsessed over the competitive aspects of a game that was always intended to be a fun game with friends. That isn't to say pros and competitive spirit can't be part of the game, but it's gone way too far and its crazy.
And no before someone comes whining, that isn't a smash only issue. It applies to CoD, overwatch, pokemon, and any other game under the sun with a competitive multiplayer mode. Their video games guys, its all about the simple fun at the end of the day.

And we wonder why Nintendo doesnt f with the smash community
They don't deserve a good Nintendo support. Haven't even downloaded Kazuya, don't care to
Doesnt f smash?
Consider this for a moment. When someone is accused in the community of committing some kind of heinous sin, whether that's some sexual crime or some form of abuse or grooming or whatever, the reason why people always jump to believing the accuser is because they don't actually care if someone got raped or abused or not. It's nothing but an excuse for them to exercise the blood sport and public execution of people's livelihoods, for the same reasons they're so desperate for metrics such as likes retweets views subs etc. These animals are slaves to the dopamine hits they get from social media addiction.
In a lot of cases I'd be willing to bet that these kinds of people HOPE for the allegations to be true. They WANT it to be true so they can have that excuse to tear you down and eat you alive. March of the Pigs by Nine Inch Nails gave me a lot of perspective on social media and the smash community as a whole.
Anyways, great video as always. Glad to see you doing well.
It's sad because it's true.
exactly this.
in a subreddit I'm in for a band, there was a whole wave that happened where the lead singer was accused of SA, so a bunch of stories started popping up accusing him of stuff from nameless brand new accounts on the sub. EVERYONE was jumping on board and believing these 0 karma day 1 accounts. well, on one of these posts, the OP went back and edited 1 hour later, saying it was all fiction, and they wrote it to expose everyone in the community willing to ruin someone's life over a baseless story with no evidence.
now, I'm not justifying this user, I think that in itself was fucked up. but it really did put a lot of people on blast for "standing up for" and "supporting" a "victim", and expose the community for the total willingness to cancel and ruin someone's life over essentially fanfic.
fast forward, all but 1 story was proven false, and the singer is still with the band, writing a new album and touring in just a couple months. but that whole situation last year REALLY reminded me of the smash scene, in the worst way. it's just the toxicity of social media.

It's human nature, that we project our pain onto others and ourselves, or we solve it.
And that last is the only sane way, in my opinion.
Healing.
Resolving the actual issues on every side, and that's a hard, tricky and sometimes seemingly near impossible way.
All people who are affected by trauma, so basically all people - no matter from which background, gender or sexual orientation - just wait to play the power game once they see no other way to show the world, that they have been hurt.
I used to be co-dependent, and as such, you can't really articulate what you honestly want.
My wife asks me x, I say yes and dont even realize that I go against myself that way.
I dont even know, what I want, and I see the same behavior in some, who feel mistreated from people, despite that they clearly agreed both implicitly and explicitly to whatever was done.
And they meant it that way at this point, and it's clearly not what they want, when they experience this.
That is not an abuse from anyway, it's simply unhealed trauma and that on both sides mostly.
Once you give somebody the control to say one word and huge action follows, you can be assured that this will be misused, simply because humans are weak.

All joking aside, you can see the confidence man. Real happy for you.
i saw someone bring up a pretty interesting point in Marss’s twitch chat about criticizing players and characters. they said that the community actively accepts and encourages a complete lack of separation between character and player when its something positive, but completely switches stances when the discourse is negative. for example, if light wins a tournament with fox you could see a whole myriad of people saying “wow light is so cool, i love light!” however, if light were to say, switch to sonic and win the same tournament in a lame way you would be considered a bully if you were to say “wow light is so lame, i hate light!” you would have to keep your criticism completely on the character and not the person and say something like “sonic is lame, i hate sonic.” im not sure exactly what to do about this but i thought that guy brought up an interesting point about the nature of criticism and what is acceptable.
It's still rude to complain about a character while referring to a match/tournament imo. People who have "lame" playstyles see these complaints a lot and it adds nothing to the conversation but negativity.
@@psychicchicken5263 do you genuinely believe what you just said? you think complaining about characters is rude? to who, sakurai?
