an important thing is knowing if the opponent has a move that is 'transcendent'-that is one that cannot clank projectiles. Roy upb for example is transcendent and so dash attack, watering can, and fair/bair all poke during hitbox frames.

Another good example is Front B (power knuckle) and Back B (crackshoot) also are transcendent.

As a Bowser main I hate to play against Villager because of his F-Smash. Is there any way to avoid it when I already used my jump?

i'd recommend trying to go around/above it kind of like falcon does in this video. ideally you can land behind villager and take a smaller punish or fall to ledge after the bowling ball is released

​@@javionearth Unfortunately Bowser can't drift like Falcon, so I've already tried to time my recoveries but to no avail. The only reward for going over Villager will be a Throw-back off stage again or a Down-Smash into Forward-Smash because of my awful landing lag haha
I've heard that I can hit the bowling ball but I've never done it yet and I don't know if it'll allow me to come back safely
