Take one part Jeep Wrangler and one part pickup truck bed and you end up with the Jeep Gladiator. The recipe for the Gladiator is simple. But this isn’t an ordinary Jeep Gladiator. This new Mojave trim was designed to be a Baja inspired pickup truck. It has bigger tires, more suspension travel, and it says Mojave on the hood. Ok, there’s a bit more to it than that but how does the Jeep Gladiator Mojave stack up against other off-road ready mid-size pickup trucks; the Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 & Toyota Tacoma TRD?
Under the hood of the 2021 Jeep Gladiator Mojave is a 3.6L naturally aspirated V6 engine that produces 285 hp & 260 lb-ft of torque (213 kW & 353 Nm). The Colorado ZR2 & Tacoma TRD have a leg up - or wheel up - on the Jeep as their V6 engines produce more power & torque. The ZR2 is also available with an optional turbo-diesel engine. A diesel engine is also available in the Gladiator but not in this Mojave trim; at least for now.
With the 8-speed automatic, it is officially rated at 10.4 L/100km (22.6 MPG) on a highway and 14.3 L/100km (16.4 MPG) in a city. Those numbers are in the same ballpark as the Tacoma but better than the Colorado ZR2.
The Jeep Gladiator Mojave 2021 starts at $52,740 CAD ($44,140 USD) which is already over $4,000 CAD more than the starting price of the Colorado ZR2 but it is $4,000 CAD less than the starting price of the Tacoma TRD Pro. Of course, spec one up like this demo vehicle and the price will balloon to $74,000 CAD ($61,000 USD).

Mojave. I like the suspension and reinforced frame...good for all the potholes in Canada. I personally think it looks the coolest as well
I'd take the Gladiator too. You're right in the video, It's unique and has A LOT more character than the others.
I would buy the Mojave over the other gladiators due to the extremely beefed up frame and other areas, better to tow my 3200 lb travel trailer with. Wish the payload was 1600 lbs, but it isn't.

I traded my 2dr 2020 wrangler for the 2021 Mojave Gladiator. The more I drive it the more I love it. While a Jeep is not for everyone, this truck gives me what I want. A fun, cool, go nearly anywhere vehicle.
Bought the Mohave in June 21, other then not so good gas mileage, it’s very eye appealing, luv the ride, has ample enough power for my 63 year old retired military body, this is my 4th Jeep, 75 CJ 5 REN, & 2 Cherokee’s , me very, very happy & tip toeing thru mods! Fun, fun, fun!

I have the Mojave in the nacho color. It's a very fun truck especially since I live on Marco Island. Take the roof and doors off and you have the ultimate convertible. I goes through anything mother nature can throw at it. Highway steering took me by surprise (very light steering) but I'm now used to it. It's without a doubt the coolest looking mid size on the market today.
I had to look up where Marco Island was, haha. Looks awesome! It's an awesome truck!

Ranger felt like a sedan when driving, the Zr2 well it's a chevy, TRD yes reliable but the styling and interior have not aged well ... the gladiator is in a league of it's own just like the wrangler ... nice review!

How has the reliability & maintenance been with it so far?
Mojave. It's unique and with beefed up suspension can take a beating. There's a million Tacomas out there, so you should be able to get a good resale if needed.

Bought a 2020 Mojave and the steering was very erratic, turns out there is a fix. They have to replace the aluminium steering box with a steel one and do some reprogramming. Really improves it but still not the most stable steering vehicle.
Was this done by the dealership or aftermarket?
Door isn't clicking yet huh?, i'm kinda getting use to it by now wish it had a fix. Looks good with that big radio, be glad it doesn't have the base five radio, mine has been the worst i have ever owned in any car. Upgrading to the 8.4 may be an upcoming mod
Mine started clicking too. Just assumed it needs grease in the hinges.
@@theirthereandtheyre2947 Nope, sadly now both my front doors have it. It's a weld between the aluminum outer structure and the inner steel frame that cracks open in the door, no fix, not even a new door as Jeep just keeps ignoring the problem since 2018. All wranglers and gladiators will get it in all four doors eventually once they break in.
@@TopHatGent As far as I know it does not threaten the door's impact rating or lockup with the body, that's the good news, bad news is once you start hearing it you'll never stop hearing it, I have a JL that does it and nobody else but me notices it, I suppose if you open the door fast enough you won't hear it and vise versa when closing it.
I ordered the electric blue w orange trim and Steele leather seats...why doesn't it have ac seats?? It's made for the desert...I don't need heated steering wheel or seats...I didn't order them
I love this vehicle...driven to key west from kelowna bc Canada
It loves the off road as I'm a land developer and this thing has been airborne on day 1...it handles well at 75km and spinning side to side...good traction and excellent exceleration.
The room under and behind the seats is great for all the little extras we need and don't need
Gas mileage should never been in the conversation when buying a jeep...it's not a KIA...
The road noise is minimal especially when the radio is on...I have a jaguar xlj...top of the line...it doesn't drive as smooth, but it's twice as good as my old top of the line jeep
I was disappointed w the top options...no bikini cheap option, jeep contracts out their tops and the company now has u buying 2 full tops...as the bars of the soft top r needed to install a bikimi and keeping the Florida rain out...I ordered a couple soft tops w the jeep but the sales rep didn't know they didn't cover all the way to the doors??
However, super impressive w this vehicle...it's the best of both worlds...road and dirt!!

It is called "Gobi" but it appears that this was a 2020 model year colour only. It's no longer available for the 2021 model year in both Canada & the United States.

You're used to those flames cheap vehicle With independent suspension with over correcting staring that's why Jeep Stereon wheels are tight and also relaxing not overdoing
You dont want the eco diesel. Its absolutely junk. They said gen 3 would be all fixed, but read the forums. They are still bad!
Oh really?!? What are some of the issues that the diesel still has?
@@MGReviewsBlog gaskets leaking. Exhaust and erg problems. Over all engines blowing. They need to just scrap it and go with a small cummins.
