I do love memory foam just like i love all the beds from Tempur-Pedic. I just wish they were more affordable. TempurPedic and Purple are two of my favorite brands out there, well constructed quality beds
I know so many people that rave about their Tempurpedic. This review has taught me that I can spend a lot of money to create a puddle in my mattress that I wouldn't be able to roll out of. LOL. The purple looks so much better to me.
Great video! My partner and I sleep in twin beds because we kept waking each other up when we turned over so we've been trying different mattresses. We got the Purple first, weren't crazy about the gel grid. Added a Tempur topper and it's pretty comfortable and soft, maybe a bit too squishy, but not bad. Then I got a Casper and I love it!!! It took about 2 weeks to break in, before that I ordered a Tempurpedic for the guest bed because I was worried the Casper might not soften up, but it did! I like how the Casper is soft but still has some bounce to it. I turn over a lot in my sleep and it's nice not to feel stuck. My partner tried the Tempurpedic cloud prima for 2 weeks but said it was too firm. I might try to break it in more, but if I can't get it to soften up by the end of the trial period I'll return and order another Casper.
I wish that the Tempur-Cloud was 12" and not only 10" thick, but I wouldn't mind trying it. We currently have a Tempur-Pedic and it has not softened much over the years, but it has been very supportive. I'm not sure if I would like the squishy gel polymer feel of the Purple mattress. It is interesting that the Purple and Casper are firmer than the Tempur-Cloud. Thanks for the great review Marten!
My son would like this Tempur-Cloud mattress. He’s a back sleeper and he sleeps wildly. He likes softer beds. I think that the high density foam would give him a better sleep. That price is too much for me though! Thank you for the review!
High quality density and slow moving memory foam is exactly what I am looking for. I do prefer the Tempur Adapt firm model. Searching for less expensive alternatives or possibly a Tempur topper. Great review as usual ... Thanks
My best friend and I were just talking bout the tempurpedic mattresses. All of the "who it's not good for" points you hit describe me completely. But she different and she loves it!!! :)
Temper Pedic mattresses are too expensive for a basic mattress. This mattress doesn’t sleep cool, so I don’t think this would be for me. I would love to try the Purple Mattress though.
I dont believe it has enough pressure relief for lighter side sleepers like myself. Not to mention not cool for those in menopause. Therefore purple would win for me.
Another all foam (memory) foam mattress. This is a competitive field and I think you pay a lot for the Tempur brand. Not for me as I do not like the quicksand sinking sensation of memory foam, but thanks for the review.
Hey Martin and Joe! We've watched hours of your videos and I appreciate the full diagnostics so much, but I'm still not sure what's right for us. I'm a lightweight, back sleeper, with lower back pain and sciatica. My partner is a heavier bodied, stomach and side sleeper who sleeps hot and tosses and turns keeping me (a light sleeper) awake. We're looking for something under $1000 ideally (Full size) but we don't want to get it wrong because we live aboard a 350 sqft houseboat fulltime, so moving mattresses in and out is a pretty big job. I think the Purple or the Purple hybrid might be our best choice? Do you all have a different suggestion? Thanks, guys!
I like the Tempur-Cloud b/c it's better for side sleepers, as well as has good motion transfer, edge support and durability. However, the Purple and Casper win this battle as far as price (lol, add a mattress topper if needed).
I'm very cautious here as every Tempur pedic aI have ever tried always made me hot within the first 5 minutes. With a bad back I need a hybrid with individual pocketed coil base layer with micro coils mid layer with a dense foam layer topped with a pillow top.
Hi, you said it's 10 inches thick, but didn't mention how much of that is the Tempur itself and how much is the base foam, can you help with this? Thanks.
Tempur-pedic makes hybrids. I know the ProAdapt line for sure has one, but I didn't find it supportive enough and it was noticeably hot. Went with traditional all-foam ProAdapt instead.
My husband has always wanted to try a tempur-pedic but I just don't think its the right bed for us.For one it is all foam (which I know I've mentioned before I highly dislike) Plus Hubby sleeps hot as it is and I am a stomach sleeper 95% of the time
@@nikonicholson1 Well that depends on the sleepers taste, are you a side sleeper, a back sleeper, or a stomach sleeper. DO you like to feel more on top of the mattress or sink in and cradle feel and budget. I like a really soft and puffy bed. I think I would prefer a all foam over a hybrid. and one best suited for a side sleeper. Like a Puffy or Layla or even a Helix (which has a little test you can take so they can match you to a bed.. Layla as been a bed I have always wanted to try. I like that its flippable. but you just need to do some research Like watching these videos and maybe going to a mattress store and trying some out to get a idea of the feel. Tempur is WAYYYY OUT of my price range though. And I have slept on one before. and you sink in deep and have to crawl out of the hole...lol its just a bit too dense but not total uncomfortable.
Not a fan of the slow moving memory foam. We have a memory foam mattress which I am looking to get away from, looking more for hybrid (I think!) for combo of sleep positions. Do like the minimal motion transfer though! Love Danny’s disturbance :D
what about $1400 discounted price on Temperpeudic(Labor Day) vs Purple $1099/Hybrid $1599/ Hybrid Premier $2149? please reply as tommorrow is due or die? i know- sorry - should have asked earlier? 😩please!
Thank you for the review. I would be concerned with memory foam trapping heat and the lack of durability that all foam mattresses generally have. I would like to feel how this mattress compares to others of the same density.
Terrible chemical offgassing caused me terrible headaches - my pyjamas and bedlinen smelled of the chemicals too (we had windows wide open). Tempur will not take back. Expensive mattress was a write off for me. These things are literally drenched in flame retardants which are VOCs. Really, really bad for you.
3 inches of memory foam and 7 inches of poly foam=$2000 ~Tempur pedic~ Nothing luxury about it! Memory foam is memory foam. They all use the same ingredient to make it. The density is only 5 lbs in almost all their mattress, and so it almost all the top mattress's. You should be ashame of yourself recommending this overprice trash to people. Back then when memory foam wasn't mass produce and they are the only one with memory then they can charge people outrageous price for it. Now days, the market has caught up and figure them out. Memory is not expensive to make. For them to charge these price is outrageous.
First of good Lord that's a lot of money! I love the edge support part and the motion transfer part but I move a lot and think I would get frustrated with the slow moving part. Also I want a cool sleeping mattress.
Mattress clarity reviews are total BS. Literally every mattress is a 6-6.5 on their firmness scale. How is that possible? Watch their reviews....everything is a 6.

Martin here from the comments section. Combo but mostly side. I really can’t do all foam. It’s so comfy but I sleep so hot

Thank you for your advice. Very informative
Glad it was helpful!
Tempur-Pedic seem like a great mattress for the long term, but the price point makes it a tuff decision. Great Review.
Thanks for the comment!
I was so surprised with that bounce test on the tempur cloud mattress! With that slow moving memory foam it really does make me think of a cloud!
Absolutely no bounce!
I'm a side sleeper but I really dislike the tempur pedic. My ex had one. I sunk in and slept hot. My God awful. Purple I think is the way to go
I would opt for the Purple as a hot sleeper
I move around a lot in my sleep, so that bounce test was scary 😂 Thanks for another great review ♡
You're so welcome!
Thanks Martin for the great review. I think I would prefer the Purple over the Cloud.
No problem. Thanks for commenting!

What did you end up buying after the tempurpedic? I am also looking for a hybrid mattress but with high density foam for my top laye
Did you know the tempur cloud comes in a coil hybrid version as well? We’ve ordered one … waiting on its arrival
Hi, you said it's 10 inches thick, but didn't mention how much of that is the Tempur itself and how much is the base foam, can you help with this? Thanks.

TERMPUR always seems like it might be too dense feel or firm for me. I like a more puffy or fluffy feel but nothing thats to hard to roll over in.
I agree

6? Softer than average lol wtf. I like a 1-3 on scale and my body needs that. A 6 is so firm
My back hurts. A right mattress is really important. Tempur-cloud sinks too much, not the right kind for me. It is also gonna be pretty hot.
