Your review was very helpful. Thanks for paying attention to small details like the fans cables.
You bet! Glad I could help.
Sweet looking case Danny 🥰👍💪. As an ITX builder for many years now, i love to see new ITX cases. This is definitely a Node202 update and it has a modern lounge room aesthetic which will suit any modern decor ✊👍🥰. It appears to be vg value ITX case here in Australia 🇦🇺 Wh8ch is not always the case (pun intended …. Doh! 🤦♀🤦).
DUDE I'M SERIOUSLY CONSIDERING GETTING THIS FOR MY NEXT BUILD!
Great Review
This seems to be a great case for external watercooling with a MO-RA3. Both share the same footprint so you can place them right next to each other.
Great review. Thanks. I wanna build my next pc to be in the living room. This is awesome. Still cant decide what cooler to buy for a 5800X3D. Congrats 🤘
Any thoughts?
Check out Id cooling is-55, Thermaltake axp120x67, noctua L12s, scythe big shuriken 3. I think these are the best rated that fit out of the box. I'm planning on using the is-55 that I already have but swapping its 15mm fan for a regular 25mm and see what difference it makes.
Hi there! super helpful video and can't wait to rewatch it when I proceed with the build. Did you need to purchase low-profile ram with the AMD cooler?
Nope. Most ram kits work great
You can fit asrock 7900 xtx phantom gaming if you replace the included fan with slim 140mm fan.
Can confirm you can also fit the Gigabyte 7900xtx 24gb oc card leaving you about 1mm space length wise lol
can you swap the top and bottom panels? to have the front io ports on the top. also the case supports mini dtx motherboards as well
I hope there's an option for a black mesh on the front
Enjoyed your review. Funny that you just uploaded as I am researching currently information about that case. So your video defintely came in handy. The 70mm for a CPU cooler is a challange and I am still unsure, which cooler might be the best one for that case (as I am planning to go for a SFF high end gaming build, so i can't fit an AIO AND a huge GPU in there). What do you think of the be quiet! Pure Rock LP?
I was looking to try out the Noctua NH-L12S. It’s exactly 70mm
I guess that Scythe Big Shuriken 3 would fit, right?
Risen card is PCIe 4? A shipping error or doesn't support it? On their site it is still sold as PCIe 4.
Thanks and congratulations for the video
Graphics card Gen Issue, thats bcoz of brand, Same B550i I tried, it doesnt work with MSI graphics card 3050 but in Gen3 it works, But it works well with my ASUS proart 4070Ti in Gen 4
I really like this case, but my msi gaming trio 3080 ti would be too tall at 140mm :(
The riser cable included is 3.0 you can ask fractal for 4.0 it's a missmatch on their part
Just remembered the back of my motherboard has a nvme with a heatsink. Would the panel still close with that?😬
It’s great he mentions the other configurations even though Danny didn’t really do them in his config
Basically I was searching for more info about an aio config and now I realise it’s documented by fractal so that’s tight
I’m planning an AIO setup. The problem is if you want a GPU too, you’re limited to a 120mm AIO and very small size GPU
@@DannysTechChannel no yeah this is gonna be my cofig. A2000 or 6400 are my choice of LP GPUs but I'm team AMD all the way except the A2000 looks waaaay better 🤣
@@DannysTechChannel can I pick Ur brain I'm such a noob I've Built one and a half pcs my whole life. Assuming I'm going for the stupid config with the small aio and the smaller GPU, would air blow in the side and out the top. That's the only thing that is never clear for me , the airflow . Can you illustrate? Is it air inthrough the sides and out the top in the silly config?
@@DannysTechChannel would the air blow out of the top and the side in that weird config ?
@@DannysTechChannel Ur planning an aio setup with the fractal ridge?
So I know Fractal Design stopped producing the Ridge for awhile to address the riser issue. They were back in stock in March, and I think they only put it back in stock when they were able to fix their manufacturing/software issue. Did you ever get this fixed? The Ridge is out of stock again, since May 5th, and who knows when they will be back in stock.
Hey, I love your video! My only concern is that I have a 5900x and don't know if it will be chocked. I have the Inwin A1 plus and my cpu temps are around 70C but I'm afraid it will be worse here.
What CPU cooler are you using?
Not sure what you decided here but I'm using a 5900x in the Ridge with a ThermalRight AXP-120 X67 and it's running about 65C whilst gaming, with a 20 all-core PBO undervolt. My fan curves are set pretty conservatively until it gets to 70C. I can recommend the cooler, at least.
Can you flip the case the other way around? The front IO to be on top instead of the bottom?
I don’t think so. It has holes that line up on the cover and I don’t see them on the top
Great review, as usual. Well done Danny ! I am not sure I would call this 12 L case a small form factor. I mean, my Deskmini is litterally 6 times smaller (1.9 L). But on this one at least you can fit tons of storage and a real graphics card. Keep up the great work !
That’s what attracted me to it. The Deskmini will always be the smallest “gaming” PC I’ve ever built lol but being able to use a dedicated GPU made this one exciting for me.
Pretty generic question here. What's the material that they used for the front panel? Metal mesh or is it facric? Great video BTW. 🙂
Thanks a lot! It feels like a fabric but it might be vinyl. Definitely not metal mesh. It feels very soft if that helps
@@DannysTechChannel It does. Thank you for anwering. I was thining of getting it and doing a custom paint job on it. Knowing it's not fabric helps a lot.
The more I watch reviews the more I want to buy it, bummer there's no dust filter, I wonder how easy will it get to be dusty...
Very easy. You’re right, it’s just straight airflow. At least it’s easy to pull the panels and blow it out.
Oh I thought the same. Probably the filter would restrict too much the air flow though, and there is no room for making grill area any bigger to compensate. Too bad. Still a great case, if I were to build an ITX, this one would be my choice definitely.
Wouldn't those magnetic filters work on the outside over the holes?
I don't get why you would need the 2 big included fans? I mean, they seem to blow air directly into the GPU fans, so wouldn't it be easier to just remove them and let the GPU fans suck the air by themselves? they will be facing the side panel holes directly, so will get fresh air from the exterior, right?
I think the idea is they are big (140mm) which allows quieter operation with the GPU fans not needing to work as hard. Twice the fans should give you twice the airflow
@@DannysTechChannel hmmm. Interesting. Doesn’t more fans running mean more noise?
Not necessarily. The GPU fans don’t spin unless temps reach a threshold. The case fans can be set to spin all the time to aid with airflow through the whole case. They work well and are whisper silent.
What’s the ending credit song
I have the strix card, what modification did you have to do?
Wondering the same thing. I have rtx 3090 strix. I think the issues coming with those power cables..
MSI 3x 4080 should fit in this case then by theory.. would be perfect paired with a 7800x3d.
and how will you cool the cpu?
not sure if you can fit an AIO with your gpu and no way a LP air cooler will be powerfull enough
@@williamfischer9849 low profile cooler is all you need for that cpu. It does
Not run hot for gaming purposes
@@williamfischer9849 Yes it will. axp120-x67 will do the job.
Fractal Design, are you reading the comments?
I'd like to make a suggestion to improve the front panel as a feature of the case.
Put a fine, shiny mesh between the panel and the cloth so that the holes are completely obscured. Seeing the outline of the holes through the thin cloth is a bit distracting... makes this great product look a smidge cheaper than it could.
Also, I would love to see a limited edition series of front panels, where different cloths are offered. Red paisley, blue tie-dye, black satin, golden Arabesque... you get the point. That would be sick to get a panel that can compliment my office carpet, or a panel I could swap in to suit my mood.
Did the 3090 FE fit with the top fans?
No, as you can see, I didn’t plug it in either. The top fans would block the pci power plug
@@DannysTechChannel got it. I’m waiting for theRidge to arrive. I have a feeling the 3090 will be too hot without the top fans. By chance did you try plugging it and testing it?
No, but once I get a CPU cooler I’m gonna use it for a powerhouse build in this thing. With like an i9 or Ryzen 9
Is the front mesh metal or cloth?
Cloth, at least that’s what it feels like
@@DannysTechChannel Nice! I was hoping it was cloth! I love the cosy look of lightly salt & peppered cloth on a clean white case. Pure class.
i have a good pc idea for it but im broke as sh*t and dont wanna spend $500 on a pc
What’s the idea? Give me the specs
It will not boot with PCIE 4.0 and that riser, because the riser is not PCIE 4.0.
DUH
It says PCIe 4.0 right on their website. I’ve been had!
@@DannysTechChannel Yeah, ask for your money back.
this dude saying 84c is too hot for a cpu when the 14900k is locked at 100c before undervolt and delid 💀💀💀
If you enjoy high CPU temps, be my guest. That’s why i personally don’t recommend Intel very often these days. Well, that and price has a lot to do with it.
@@DannysTechChannel yea intel's biggest issue is the fact that the IHS is a major bottleneck with thermals. Id argue ~85 is a fine temp however most the time you can undervolt the cpu and get into the 50s with no issue
Yeh, that’s more my style. I just build a PC with the 14700k and temps have been manageable. Gaming they are only about 50c but during stress test like cinebench, it hits just under 90
@@DannysTechChannel yea its pretty abysmal if you need to do any heavy workload tasks that tax the cpu more than the gpu
I almost gave you a like, possibly a subscription too, you screwed up when you started complaining about disassembling the whole case to build in it. You see, first you talk about how great the instructions book is and tell fractal they are great too, then you contradict by crying about having to take it all apart. You screwed up. Should have left it there.
