- On Sunday, December 27, in Vancouver, Canada, a lady walked up to the Bridging Gaps Foundation team's at their "Meet a Muslim" booth and started abusing, swearing and harassing the team.
On a weekly basis, a "Meet a Muslim" booth is set up to bridge the gap between Muslims and non-Muslims, and share information on Islam.

The heinous accusation that was only raised by some ill intentioned orientalists regarding the young age of lady 'Aisha at the time of her marriage to Prophet Muhammad was not raised by the vehement enemies of Islam like the Prophet's tribe, Quraysh, during the time of Prophet Muhammad nor later along the Islamic history. Even historians like Ibn Ishaq and many others who reported the story of the marriage of lady 'Aisha did not stop and wonder about her young age nor they had to justify the Prophet' position of marrying her because simply at that time girls were getting married at such young age. The fact that lady 'Aisha was about to be betrothed to another man before the prophet's proposal means that this was customary practice and not a source of shame or a denigration of morality. Prophet Muhammad since time immemorial was well known among his people of Quraysh to posses the highest moral characteristics and won the hearts of people through the perfection of his manners.

As a Christian, I don’t think this behavior is unacceptable while believing and have faith in God. God said to love your neighbors and even your enemies. So this woman should be ashamed of herself for not listening to God’s commandments. I feel sorry for Muslim people getting treated like this.

As a Canadian and Christian living very close to Vancouver, I’m so sorry that this lady treated you and your religion so negatively and harshly. I honestly hope that she understands why this was completely unacceptable and rude and doesn’t do this again. Again, I’m deeply sorry for this absolutely ridiculous public tantrum this lady threw over a culture and religion she knows next to nothing about. I hope this behaviour is completely eradicated, not just for Muslims but for everyone.

As a non- Muslim ,I don't agree with this woman's approach of expressing herself, but she mentioned a few things that the outreach team didn't answer. Being a medical doctor, I have always wondered why a prophet of God would marry a nine year old girl, whose pelvic bones are not even mature enough to allow child-birth. Women who are married off at a very young age die all over the world during birth, due to obstructed labor as a result of cephalopelvic disproportion . Why would God allow someone who is his prophet to set such an example for other men to follow? I don't mean to offend anyone, but your team should have at least taken a minute to answer why Aisha was married off at the age of nine years.
Psychology and emotional intelligence is what anyone should train in before setting out to talk about religion in public.

It was normal a long time ago to marry at a much younger age. The legal age of marriage in America in 1880 was 10 years old.
Back then there were no high schools to attend and no college degrees to peruse.
