      @@RyanKingArt I did not watch it fully. Only clicked through it to see how the end result looks like (thumbnail was too small for a good preview). But it did went immediately into my Video list for CGI tutorials I need. (Edit: I am currently in a rush, brother has birthday tomorrow and we organize a party for him :D)
      You do as always such a good job explaining. I am sure when I watch it, it will again sound like the easiest thing to do on earth.

    First of all, although the color mix node is just a mix node in the latest versions of Blender, if you press Shift+A to add a new node, and then choose Color from the pop-up menu, "Mix Color" is in there and gives you exactly the same result as searching for mix and then changing it to Color from Float if you are mixing colours. Also, when you put the multiply mode in to make the leather texture scale more sensitive (around the 24:00 mark), you can can come out of the group node and then divide the scale by the amount you are multiplying it by within the group to get exactly the same result. Here you just need to add "/20" (without the quotes) after the 700 which is already there. In this case it's easy enough to do the maths in your head but there are times when you might use less rounded figures so this is just to remind people you can do that.
    Finally, this is really impressive so thanks for putting it together and for explaining it so well. I'm still learning after years of using Blender and my favourite trick you have taught me is using the HSV node to control brightness and so to control roughness. Thanks again.

    This material looks realistic! It's good for for covering how to make a node group. I want some inspiration to make other materials when I'm bored, so can you tell me some ideas that you have planned to make for the future? I will cover how I made them if you ask.
    I like that you make some tutorials on other material node subjects, rather than making the finished product occasionally. Can you make more tutorials on that?

    Great stuff per usual! How long would you say that it takes you to make one of these materials?

    • @RyanKingArt
      @RyanKingArt  Před rokem

      Thanks! It takes me anywhere between a few hours to a few days to make a material, depending on how complex it is and how many problems I run across. But then creating the full tutorial, uploading the project files, and all that, adds another few days of work.

    I’m using version 3.0.1 and the MIX node ( at 8:18 ) is different from the video. It’s haven’t the same parameters

    • @RyanKingArt
      @RyanKingArt  Před rokem

      I actually made a video specifically about that: czcams.com/video/i4GAHxtDAsk/video.html
      In the new Blender update of 3.4, they changed the Mix RGB node, to just the mix node. But it still works exactly the same.
