スリランカ仏教チャンネル、及び、スリランカ国営放送にて、平成26年3月29日より4月６日にかけて、念佛宗総本山無量壽寺「佛教之王堂」、並びに、念佛宗九州本山、念佛宗福井別院にて執り行われました、「スリランカの至宝　お釈迦様の真身御舎利 特別御開帳」の模様が、平成20年11月、念佛宗総本山無量壽寺「佛教之王堂」にて開催された「第五回佛教サミット」の模様とともに、16分を超える特集が組まれ、報道されています。
The Special Exposition of the Most Sacred Relics of Lord Buddha, which was held at the Royal Grand Hall of Buddhism, the Head Temple of Nenbutsushu Buddhist Sect of Japan as well as Nenbutsushu Kyushu Honzan Temple and Nenbutsushu Fukui Betsuin Temple from March 29 to April ６, 2014, has been broadcast on Sri Lankan Buddhist Channel / Shranddha TV and the State Channel of Sri Lanka. The 16-minute special program reporting the event was broadcast on television with the past video pictures from the Fifth Buddhist Summit held at the Royal Grand Hall of Buddhism in November, 2008.
「お釈迦様の真身御舎利 特別御開帳」は、南伝仏教発祥の聖地・スリランカ ミヒンタレーの中心、ラージャ・マハー・ヴィハーラ大寺に、二千三百年の間、代々護り伝えられてきた、お釈迦様の真身御舎利が、スリランカ大統領府主催により、スリランカの一大国家行事として、世界仏教の聖地・念佛宗総本山「佛教之王堂」にて御開帳されたものであり、日本全国を始め、世界各国から大勢の参詣者が訪れ、お釈迦様の御舎利を拝する尊い仏縁を結ばれました。
The Special Exposition of the Most Sacred Relics of Lord Buddha was held under the auspices of the Presidential Secretariat of Sri Lanka as a national event of Sri Lanka and unveiled the sacred relics that have been protected through the ages for over 2,300 years at Raja Maha Viharaya in the center of Mihintale, the holy birthplace of Theravada Buddhism. The venue chosen for the exposition was the Royal Grand Hall of Buddhism, the Head Temple of Nenbutsushu Buddhist Sect of Japan and the holy place for Buddhists of the world.
Thousands and thousands of people visited the temple not only from Japan but also from overseas and had the auspicious opportunity to worship the most sacred relics of Lord Buddha.
この度の、スリランカ仏教チャンネル・スリランカ国営放送の報道では、「スリランカの至宝　お釈迦様の真身御舎利」を通じてスリランカ仏教が紹介されるとともに、「佛教之王堂」の、世界仏教の聖地たる由縁が説かれています。

※　御舎利（仏舎利）とは
お釈迦様が亡くなられ、荼毘に付された際に、御遺骨が水晶のような美しい粒と化したもので、世界のあらゆる仏教徒から、この上なく尊いものとして崇められています。お釈迦様の真身御舎利を礼拝供養する功徳は莫大で、来世、仏国土に生まれることができると、数多くの経典に説かれています。
About the sacred relics of Lord Buddha: They are the crystallized beautiful pieces of bones of Lord Buddha that remained after the cremation. They have been worshipped by all Buddhists of the world as the most precious treasure. Many Buddhist sutras say that the merit to be obtained by worshipping the sacred relics of Lord Buddha is enormously great and anyone who has the chance to worship the sacred relics of Lord Buddha can be reborn in the Buddha's pure land.
