This was the first video I ever saw of Angelina and I have been hooked ever since. I watch her every single day (3 1/2 years now). Even though I've seen this one many times, I am still in awe as soon as she starts to sing.
This is such a shocking performance. I love how fearless Angelina is. Her voice sounds so rich and emotive. Great reaction!
If you're familiar with the original by Dinah Washington, you've realized that
Angelina's 'vocal chameleon' ability comes to the fore once again in this song.
I believe she was 8 when she sang this.

During the performance an 8 year old kid had the the entire audience of thousands of people in stunned disbelief. I don't know about you felt when you listened it to but I've watched and listened to this hundreds and hundreds of time and I continue to be in stunned disbelief every time! Angelina has recorded so many wonderful video's it is very difficult to choose which ones we like the most BUT, after saying that this particular video will always remain my "favorite" Angelina video.
❣ **One of the most amazing journeys in my life, has been, watching Angelina Jordan grow** ❣ Loved your reaction, & was very similar to mine, when I first heard Angelina sing this song 😊 No matter what your beliefs are, I always find it so intriguing, that the singers, Lou Rawls, James Brown, & Luther Vandross, all passed away, within a year of when Angelina was born, & also, with her passion for equality, & love for all mankind, she was also born, within a year, of Civil Rights Activist, Rosa Parks 😊 You are absolutely in the treat of your life, if you chose to continue down the Angelina rabbit hole!!!
Singing in front of people and talking in front of people are not the same. When Angelina was 12, she did a TV interview on a Scandinavian talk show and she later sang her own song, Shield. In that interview, she says when she's on stage, she goes to another world; a happy, amazing world.
This is one of my favorite Angelina performances. She’s 8 here. The difference between when she being interviewed and when she’s singing is unbelievable. When she starts to sing, the shyness disappears and she’s completely into the music, swaying with the beat with perfect timing and phrasing. This is patterned after the 1958 Dinah Washington hit, and Angelina’s voice could be coming from a 50’s juke box.
You still have no idea how good she is, but just keep listening. Angelina will steal your heart and blow your mind.

I Subd after your mea culpa..you’ll find Angelina is a humble person too! I’ve listened to this performance dozens of times and I still can’t fathom how she can be this good at 8 year old..imo it’s one of the greatest of all time.

You are correct....this is one of my all time favorites (there are so many) from Angelina. Proud Norwegians told me, that, about 3 weeks later, she was declared THE NATIONAL TREASURE OF NORWAY by her people. She staid humble and friendly, that is more reason to adore and admire her. From musicians working with her she got a nickname that stuck to this day, THE BOSS.
As her instinct for music is uncanny, she advised grown experienced musicians (always friendly) of how a song should be played.
Yes she is sometimes shy when talking, but when she steps on stage to sing she is fearless. Really enjoying your reactions to Angelina. I think it's impossible to be in a bad mood when listening to her sing!

The flower crowns you see are a scandinavian tradition, in honor of love and the fertile part of the year, spring and summer. When AJ was a bit older, she used to give away her expensive flower crown to girls, that wanted it. Imagine The flower crown of their National treasure handed over personally, what a blast.😄

There is a version of this video with English subtitles, but you get the idea anyway. It's just friendly banter. 8 year old Angelina absolutely slays this song. Great production values on the video by the way, you obviously have some talent of your own👍
He had the subtitles on & he could see them, but unfortunately the bottom of the video was cropped off so we couldn't see them. That seems to happen a lot with other reactors also.
Not THIS year, but LAST year was, sadly, the last for this Summertime TV talent show series in Norway, called 'Allsang pa Grensen', (Singing At The Border, (with Sweden)) but, they were lucky enough to snag Miss Jordan, at age 16, to perform for the finale' year. And 'What a Difference 8 Years Makes', as you will find out when you get to it.
And the difference is AJ !!!
Hey, you're not the first to think Billie was a man but I strongly suggest you react to one of her songs (penance 😉), maybe "Strange Fruit" or "Summertime". If you listen to the one AJ did you will more clearly see the incredible level of AJ's skill. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and AJ with us.
