They are not the same song, Dolly wrote the song about leaving her mentor. It's not about a romantic love, as used in the Bodyguard; and Houston version was taken from the brilliance of Linda Ronstadt's 1975 version.

As I had said to Nu, each woman brings her specialty to the table. I like both versions, but I wanted Dolly Parton to receive her due as the originator of the song.

Lauderdale who loved rock, blues, & Beatles, Stones. Porter didn't do anything for me. But Dolly did and still does. She has always has been a true colossal talent, and a very sweet soul. Thank you Dolly for your wonderful music that has touched so many 💕.
