Kids that have to grow with a painful condition learn fast at an early age how to grow up. It's when they grow up that they become a bit more Jaded like the rest of the world.
He looks very young for his age because the disease stunts his growth and affects puberty, but he's actually older than he looks. He's 21 now (in 2023) so if this was originally filmed 4 years ago he would have been 17.

I looked him up to see how he and his family are doing and I read some unfortunate news regarding John’s father, John Dilgen. In January of 2023 he was diagnosed with Myelodisplastic Syndrome, a type of cancer in which immature blood cells in the bone marrow do not develop into healthy blood cells. His daughter donated her bone marrow but his health deteriorated despite this and sadly he passed away on July 29. RIP John, you were a great father to your son.

@@tessnanavati2625 I'm so sorry to hear this, where did you learn this from?
@@ilgarzazalyev767 it’s false information, he’s still alive, there’s literally an update video from 9 months ago
@@FabTheK UPDATE : I just had a chance to talk to him and all he said was only "Body is not much better" .. And he didn't tell anything anymore :(
@@ilgarzazalyev767 so sorry to hear that! Thanks for telling us, I hope he'll be better
What got me is when he said he doesn’t get to see many people besides his nurses:(( I love this kid and I really hope they find a cure for this disease. I’m sending this kid love and happiness.
It's not a cure, but he does have a treatment now that helps
There are no words to describe how amazing this human is.
His family also seem to be some of the most wonderful people on the planet.
God bless them.

Te admiro mucho John. I’m from Colombia and just cannot believe the way you talk, the way you see life and people, your maturity and strength is AMAZING! You didn’t only impacted your family, friends and people you’ve met but also me, and so many people that you don’t even imagine.
Please do not forget that Jesus also has a purpose for your life! He loves you in so many ways and I think, as your family, he’s been for you in any highs and lows. 💓
The amount of insight John has, the amount of wisdom effortlessly coming out of his mouth, the empathy for his family...all things that most people struggle with their entire lives and never get or understand. I wish for him the best life possible, he's truly a super hero.
You’re so right. I also noticed this about John. Amazing person.
John, since I first saw this video, I have returned regularly to listen to your inspiring voice. Thank you for your help through my difficult times.
Lo inteligente, auténtico y sensible que es, tenemos tanto que aprender de esta persona. Me encantó esta entrevista, hace replantearte muchas cosas. Y deseo de corazón una cura para esta persona tan tan valiosa.
My sweet boy.. I have no words to express my sorrow for your situation. I can only admire your strength, your courage and your beautiful soul. I wish for a cure to be found, from the bottom of my heart. Much love and support from Greece
Damn, my man is super genuine. What a wonderful soul he has. I'm hoping the best for you kid 👍
I feel like crying knowing there are so many kind folks who are flocking to the videos to leave their well wishes and kind thoughts now that comments are back on!
It breaks my heart to see the pain in his eyes, but my heart swells when I see the love that they all have for each other ❤
watching this again after some time....what an incredible, handsome, smart, self-aware kid. i am going through a hard time right now, and John Hudson reminded me that it just means that things are hard . i hope im,half as good at raising ly son as these parents are.
His strength is incredible, also he clearly above average intelligence. An absolutely warrior, full respect to you, bro. Keep fighting the good fight 💪
This guy has one of the most explicit conditions I have ever witnessed, and every day he triumphs over this condition. It's an almost Biblical struggle he has, and he never gives up the fight.
I love you John. You are so beautiful inside and out. My heart cries knowing the pain you are enduring. I pray for a cure .
When he cried I started crying and I couldn't stop
Hang in there buddy hopefully better treatment will come am sure of it .. your a amazing young guy

This young man is incredibly bright, funny, and down to earth for his age..
What a fighting spirit..
Pray they find a cure for his condition, he will be an unstoppable force for good!
I will never forget this interview. What an amazing boy- absolute treasure!❤️
What a wonderful kid. His parents must be so proud. God bless this young man!
John you are an intelligent guy and I wish you the very best!
"If this is the payment of helping people, then bring it on"
He's too pure for this world, we don't deserve him
This is my favorite channel, these kids/adults are the most perfect people. They have such amazing hearts
I want to shake this young man's hand, I believe it would be a great honour!
I love how wise he is, it really hurts seeing him cry because you can see a great soul within. Must be a painful condition and it limits him *physically* at least, it's unfair. Wish him the best.
Sou do Brasil e você pode ter certeza que sua história de vida inspirou a minha. Obrigado. You're stronger. Thank you for your words.
I immediately cried when he did:(
he's incredibly brilliant watching the way he talks!
John is such an old soul, so kind and thoughtful. So positive! I wish I could meet him...I believe, even though he's so young, that I have so much I could learn from him at the ripe age of 56.
God please lay your hands of healings upon this child.
1:46 bro when he hugged his dad I lost it
thinking I am going through a difficult moment in my life I watched your lifestory and that made me feel so egoistic and weak. You are amazingly strong and brave. Some of my life's perspective has just changed by knowing about you! Thank you!
Such an handsome BRAVE young man... some super heros... dont wear capes..
Love you kiddo... sooo much.
I hope John gets to read all the comments here! God Bless him and his lovely family.
