Taco Down

- Here's the recovery that we scouted in the last video. This one was fairly involved and technical. I'm sure plenty of people will say I used to many winches. They weren't all pulling so much as they were there for backups in case of any type of failure. It was definitely a workout but going slow and steady worked out and we were able to get it up and out without any further damage. Thank you everyone for watching and supporting us.

No wasted moves, no jibber-jabber, no phony drama, no do-overs. Pretty darn good!
Wow Max, you nailed it. Nothing else to say.
@@lowellcrabb151 Agreed Lowell.
No KC 😂?
This would'a been a 1 to 1.5 hr. video from "Sparks" ( maybe even a 2 parter ! )
MUCH THANKS RORY & Crew for

Na a 4 part over a hour long at least, first 2 would be just loading up and getting near there.
Wow, who ever was driving that Tacoma is lucky to be a live and they stopped there and didn't roll and/or go further down
Yeah, that could definitely have ended much worse. Also, the crunchy corn crumple zone of the taco shell did it's job well, the passenger cabin looked basically unaffected, even the windshield was intact.
Coulda sold tickets to that ride!
I hope they had a change of underwear!
With where it went and what it went over the fact it did not roll is driver skill or luck, figuring out how they fell off the road on a straight section with a passing space possibly eliminates skill! I was equally impressed with the multiple winches used to control it and prevent it rolling on a winch rope during recovery. Knowing the vehicle and its limitations is why I back Trail Mater for the tow truck Olympics, not the fastest, newest, best but the operator skill, knowledge and years of experience is worth more than a Matts Recovery rope in sand.
@@stevet647 I agree & Rory shows his skill's best & kept every wench snugged for the best control ! I been watching all those i know thats going for the olympics and if they take the looks out Rory shows his skills on most every tough job !
I come back over an again learning a little more each time. Pure education delivered as entertainment. TV is losing ground . Thanks Trail Mayer crew for bringing us along.✌
Not only was the videography great, but that's about the most difficult recovery I've seen on youtube.
"Barely broken in, Taco. $37,900 OBO. I know what I have."
And crazy recovery! Well done!
That’s because it a 2nd Gen, lol.
Only driven on Sundays, minor scratch - it'll buff out!
"It's just a flesh wound!"
Wow those winches put in some serious work on that one! Fantastic team work 💪💪
I can't believe the genius it takes to make these recovery's...
That was an amazing and entertaining recovery.. when i saw where the Toyota was at, i was thinking, how are they going to pull this one off.. Excellent job guys!!
Right! They're willing to literally move heaven and earth to get these things out haha
For one of the toughest recoveries you all made it look much easier than it seemed. Great crew and teamwork for another impressive recovery!
No wonder Matt, Paul, and ..... have so much respect for you! That was amazing!!!
Nicely done Rory and team. Really enjoyed watching this one.
Those that were driving were lucky they could of rolled right to the bottom.
That's what you call an "off road recovery" . Well done guys!
Rory, you, your crew and friends should receive the Most Difficult Recovery of the Year Award. It was a masterpiece.
If I hadn't seen the video I wouldn't have believed that was a thing that was possible to do , you guys are GOOD ! Not to mention brave as hell too........
Never get tired of seeing Mater doing front dig turns! I work in healthcare and just can’t make it to the Olympics 😞. But… my gladiator, camper, kids and dirt bikes are waiting on the earth to wobble toward the sun a bit and we are heading west! Gotta see these views in person!
That was an INCREDIBLE recovery. The entire team had excellent communication and work so well together. I can't believe how you guys are able to make a plan in your head and execute so well.
Now this could have been some drama with some fast camera cuts from different angles with some Jerry Bruckheimer music. But then it wouldn't be this channel, with down to earth and personal content, great job Rory and crew!
This has to be the best recovery of all time ,safe and steady .Giving those poor winches time to cool.Bravo guys that was epic 👍
Such a solid and capable recovery. Well played team. I watched this when it came out. It came up again so I watched it again.
Dam, earned your beans on this one. Dos Mater's
And the winner of the tow truck Olympics goes to Rory, by a taco land slide. Matt better watch it lol
What a crew! Nice to see Mike's dad, smile on his face shows that the apple didn't fall far from the tree! You guys really showcase your talents and hazard awareness, watching Shawn and Mike working the rocks all while everything was under tension. Thank goodness the weather cooperated with you guys. Surprised how well that Taco held up given the not so sudden stop!
That was some recovery. As always Rory has a plan and makes it look easy.
Great to watch.
That old HOLMES bed design is no joke!
Straight up legends. Best recovery channel on the internet. 6 different winches making incremental moves up a freakin cliff is, and always will be infinitely more fascinating than repeated snatch strap recoveries.
Y'all know exactly what you're doing. Bravo! To a million subscribers!!
Alright Lizzie I need you to get in it fire it up and turn the wheels all the way to the right 🤣
When the tow truck olympics finally gets here, Rory will win. Unless... it's just a snatch and pull competition. 🙄
I’m waiting & it won’t be long , without selling out & continuing to be red neck as hell & I love it ! Takes one to know 1 .
@@fastandfun20043 LOL
@@sabafazeli693 must be rough on you being so closed minded and judgemental in your life
Wow! Seeing Rory standing on the back bumper put the angles in perspective. Crazy recovery!
What a crew. So professionally done guys.
Mister Mater Number one and crew did one heck of a job today was extra special.WONDERFUL, WONDERFUL JOB.
Rory I do have to say that the folks that own that Toyota Tacoma are very lucky to be alive. Also to add to that you being able to tug their truck back up onto that road and get it out of there for him was totally remarkable.
Not only a blistering recovery, the videography was superb, so many camera angles, and so well edited.
What a team ❤🇷🇴
The shots with the winch line in the foreground were pretty cool. 👍
@@cosmicranger1 It took me a moment to work that out. I was wondering why there was a length of rotating rebar in the shot. As for camera angles, does Rory have a drone?
@@TrevorDennis100
I don’t think they have a drone, I think they have a cameraman that is part mountain goat!
Sometimes it is difficult to appreciate the degree of a slope when seen in a video. Not so with the shots these guys took. You could definitely see the full angle of the drop off and appreciate the precarious position that Tacoma (and the team) was in. Well done and thanks for another great recovery video!
i have run a wrecker for 27 years thats a great job
Hi from British Columbia. Still can't believe what I just saw! WAY TO GO!! (first time watching)
Love to hear the story on how it happened.
Death Star is a pretty great name. Nice job on this one, guys!
Mike awesome naming your truck the "Death Star" love it! It's so 🆒
Wow! What an insane recovery! I've biked that road. Can't believe someone went off the side like that. Judging by the dried mud on the sides of the truck, I'm guessing that driver took that turn too quick in slick conditions and then saw his life flash before his eyes. Pretty lucky for that truck to end up wedged where it was!
"'I am not repelling I am trying to keep my dumb ass from falling down the mountain" lol
You know how professional they are when they make a recovery as technical as this look easy and do it with no drama .
Honestly one of the most impressive recoveries I’ve ever seen. Working in incredibly dangerous and tight space, to bring that truck out was sheer genius. And then to get such amazing video coverage of it is next level.
Wow👍👍👍better than any Hollywood movies, really enjoyed it
My respect for your rigs just went through the roof. With enough winches & brains you got the job done. Some fine rigging to keep everybody safe was awesome. Rory, Shawn, Mike & extras really worked well together. Thanks for sharing. Let's hope this will be the hardest ever.
As long as the olympics don't coint looks Rory & his crew got it hands down !
@@Jammer.1 I think TrailMater looks pretty good. Gently used, Sundays only
Absolutely stunning recovery! Thanks!!
Methodical, precise AND quick. This man can’t be beat when it comes to tough recoveries!
The only thing I can say is “Holy Cow” that’s amazing. You guys showed that it doesn’t take new, fancy, high dollar equipment to do a job like you all did. It just takes a ton of knowledge and skill plus well fabricated and thought out wreckers and equipment. Way to go Roary and crew, Peace✌🏻
I have no idea what Matt is going to come up with for the wrecker competition, but I am going to go out on a limb and predict that you guys come in 1st place after seeing this recovery.
This was great to watch. Done calmly and collected and well filmed. No music to create false tension, no shaky cam and shouting to make it look like more than it is. Just a cool recovery that was was interresting and fun to watch.
That recovery was pretty darn intense
Watched it again and even more unbelivable recovery, GREAT JOB!!!!
I think you just won the Tow Truck Olympics! Great recovery! Always enjoy watching.
No doubt that was amazing. Well done fellas
That’s the most impressive vehicle recovery I’ve seen so far! Amazing engineering work.
This is why the other tow companies in Moab hate on Rory because him and his team are the only ones who can actually do these types of recoveries without having to ask anyone else for help! The amount of experience you and your team have for this type of job Rory shows decades of wisdom between you all. Great videography, beautiful scenery, epic recovery team and a whole lot of bad assary!! Great work team!
I didn't know they were hating on him and his work. He seems like a nice and very knowledgable guy with a great team. This was an excellent recovery and they didn't add a scratch to the Tacoma!
@@garywaddle7235 ya news to me that people hate on Rory and his business 😂
@@garywaddle7235 ahhh you both must be relatively new to the channel. Its all good though I didn't know until I watched the episode where he talks about it. If you watch one of his uploads a few months ago he talks about how the towing companies in Moab don't like him saying that he's not even a real tow truck driver yet they always turn down the jobs he ends up doing because they don't know how to recover them. Rory is the man coolest dude on YT And I feel they don't like him because he's more experienced than they are at doing what he does!
Who would taco Rory Irish? Nobody dislikes Rory or Matt, and they are the ones for a conglomerate carbussiness or essential
Is this a baseless accusation? Can you provide more details, without actually naming names?
Saying I'm impressed is a real understatement. Good job
Great advert for whoever made that rear bumper!
Rory is a cut above and knows his equipment's capabilities. He also understands this terrain and how to work in it. I am just a student learning and being entertained at the same time. When I'm rolling around on those trails and break down, there's a pattern that is woven as to what to carry.. yup, I'm beginning to understand...
Well done Rory in my opinion you guys had a plan and definitely had the right team to get the job done.
I like the name Death Star for Mike's Rig
The commentary was comical to listen as always
Pretty dicey recovery!
A morning's work? That was a flippin' Masterclass! Thanks.
Damn , when i saw the scouting run i thought that would be a mission .. but you guys made this technical , dangerous , extraction look easy
That was incredible. The skills displayed on this recovery were amazing. I was sat here jaw dropped.
dont see this type of expertise every day. amazing
I wish to tag these men as the “Red Rock Men of Utah”. Fantastic job getting that wreck off the rocks. Nothing short of a miracle.
Amazing job! Rory is like a symphony orchestra conductor in his precise direction and execution of the recovery. What a team!
I honestly believe this could not have been done with any other crew than Rory's team. And very little damage caused by rescue. Good job guys..
Amazing! Like others in the comments, I thought it was coming out in pieces. I'd love to know the story of how it got there.
The “More winches!!” mentality spoke volumes in this one. Slick job boys
Excellent recovery, made to look easy due to your team and experience. Rory, please don't forget that people that have never been to Moab enjoy those National Geographic views that you share with us. Wife doesn't know jack about recoveries, but say's your crazy when she see's you driving the edges. Thanks and keep them coming.
Amazing. I've watched every video on this channel and Rory and the Guys never cease to amaze me with their skill, communication and sense of humor under pressure. Thanks for taking all of us along for the ride!
insanely beautiful the place, almost looking like a video game, Godspeed, gorgeous scenery 👍
So funny when you all (Sean and Mike) get the giggles. And the shorts and boots! High fashion! Lol
I'm totally amazed in how you guys made that look like child's play, But I know how dangerous that was! All you guys out in Utah that do this kind of recovery simply amazing!! Great Job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Outstanding recovery... nobody hurt and the recovery didn't add to the damage! Very impressive!
Well done, when the recovery looks easy you know a lot of talent was behind it to make it go so smooth. Well done.
Good job you guys! Somebody went for one hell of a ride.
I am so impressed with how that Taco got all the way there without resembling a tin foil ball. Great recovery.
Well, it will be recycled into tinfoil from where it came from. So we’ll have plenty for this summers barbecuing.😂
I can't believe how straight the truck is considering where it landed up. I can't believe the wheels arent wadded up into the body. It must have been one hell of a drive down there!
OMG…I did not think you would be able to get that wreck out! Incredible work guys. You certainly nailed that one! Slow but paced and always safe, that’s what I love about your recoveries - nothing seems to get y’all off track. Congratulations!!👍👍🫶🫶
That was incredible. I can't believe you got that truck up the rock slide.
Amazing recovery, and teamwork
That was a brilliant example of team work, planning, communication and field leadership. Well done of a safe and successful operation, brilliant.
its amazing how little damage you added...you guys are real pros.i was expecting it to get much more damage on the way back up
A True Professional Recovery. An Expoerienced, Well Orchestrated and Professional Team making the Impossible look Easy... Safety First, and Get it Done Right. BRAVO!
The whole time I'm just thinking of what a great build you could do, when you pull it out in pieces! Great job guys!!!
Wow, amazing recovery! The professionalism your team showed was awesome! Happy that all came through with no injuries!!!
Wow, That was definitely "Technical" to say the least. Other words to describe it: Dificult, Dangerous, Complicated, Middle of nowhere,. Great Team and the right tools and rigging knowledge and working it slowly and safetly. Well Done as usual guys. The video came out very professional to say the least.
Shows what a team of guys with recovery off road vehicles can do when directed and coordinated by someone who knows what he is doing! AWESOME RECOVERY FELLAS!
Can always tell when pros are working. I've done a few recoveries in Northern Ontario but never anything on such rocky loose terrain. Great job guys.
Awesome job!
VERY impressive, guys. You did good. Must have been a wild ride in the accident that got the truck down there in the first place. Keep on keeping on, Rory. Stay safe.
We were camping a few miles away and our buddies ran across the driver. Josh and Andy quickly offered aid and then rode for help. We got there just before life flight landed on the ledge and got him to safety. Great job on recovering the vehicle! It’s a great video, but hard to do justice on how steep and scary where this ended up. Miracle no one died.
If he was in a Jeep everyone would have been dead !
I love the laughter & jokes on the day-to-day that show how well these team members get along, but this well directed ballet, without a single wasted movement or comment was true Art. ❤️
You guys are a fantastic team! It's no wonder everything seems to go so smoothly. Congrats on completing a fantastic recovery!
That is a SUPER gnarley recovery. OMG!
Masterfully done!
Fantastic crew, Rory.
Nobody better at extreme recovery!
Srt8 up PROFESSIONALS great job again!
Nothing you guys can't do with enough winches and great coordination!
Rory:”I’m not repelling I’m only trying not to fall down the mountain!” Great recovery. I was hopeful the bumper would stay attached long enough to save it. All the while building a road with rocks.
Winch Symphony with ONE HELL of a conductor. Unreal!
Every time we say that was the best recovery you ever did, then you do another one GREAT JOB MATER TEAM!!!
At first glance I was like, "well, that's impossible." Once again, y'all make the impossible look downright easy. Hope the client and passenger are okay. That must have been a horrifying ride.
TRULY AMAZING, A REAL NAIL BITER TO THE VERY END
