- Join me as I fly from Abu Dhabi to Sydney on board an Etihad 777, in Business Class.
Today we're taking EY454, an overnight flight from Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates, back home to Sydney. Etihad has a few different Business Class products available and the 777 is arguably the least desirable on the long haul fleet. So let's go gate to gate together, passing through check in, the lounge, terminal and of course the on board experience on this trip across to Australia. Great review timely for me as I am on that same flight 14A next week. do you think small cabin is better than large cabin. Also do you know of VA platinum members still have access to first class lounge in Abudhabi ?
Personally I preferred the smaller cabin, but it's always a risk sitting at the back in case they run out of your preferred food (or slower service). The trade off is much less foot traffic and a more private / intimate feel. Ultimately it doesn't *really* matter though, as long as the seat is a proper window seat. Unfortunately I lost my VA Plat a few years ago so cannot confirm the AUH lounge entry now. Thanks for watching!

Unfortunately not with this set up.

It would have been nice to see the menu, so we could have seen the options available.
The other main options were:
1. Beef Tenderloin
2. Seared Sea Bream (with barley salad + asparagus + pumpkin + lemon)
3. Chicken Margooga (carrote + potato + marrow_
4. Casarecce Pasta (vegetarian option)
Plus all day dining options and desserts / drinks etc.

Terrible. I have been flying back and forth from Australia to Abu Dhabi for 18 years. Just did the trip again to Europe in august. So disappointed that we were degraded to a 777. Where’s the Dreamliners, where’s the A380s. This plan is not suitable for a 14 hour flight. It’s very old, uncomfortable and Enoch system antiquated. Never again will I fly Etihad as they are really lower their standuin all areas. So many superior airlines and most for a cheaper price. Beware if your booking this trip to check the aircraft.
Fingers crossed they bring the A380 back to Sydney soon...
You seem to complain alot about Eitihad and this flight! If You dont like it then fly another airline.
Um, did we watch the same video? The only real downside was the older style seat on the 777.
