HuntingHarleys I'll have to take a ride on my bike to that address for ya Todd and get a quick video of what the building looks like today many buildings down that way are abandoned but I'd be glad to check that's only a 20 minute ride on my motorcycle from me probably next weekend, a little history field trip')
I didn't know Buco are still going (www.bucousa.com). They still have Buegeleisen's name over everything and it - of course - is shortened version of "BUegeleisen COmpany"
That's like the j p cycle catalog of today, the only thing different is no tawain stuff in the buco catalog.usa made.Hard to find in this day and age.Even H-D stuff made in tawain it's ashame.
ermm since its compulsory , wear them like a accessory , well there are good looking helmets around , not like it made you look damn stupid wearing one ? down here its compulsory , back in the day when i was younger i do feel why other country dont have this law , after having a few bad falls , one of which i got mine face road rash , lol i start to force myself to like it , as time goes by ,it became a norm
it's like wearing a condom to fuck. Once Magic Johnson announced he had AIDS, everyone got scared and people insisted to use condoms to fuck. Smart? Condoms don't work for me, so I stopped being a slut fucking all the hotties. helmets don't work for me, so I seldom ride.
Bikes are amazing. One does not have to ride them to enjoy them. being safe matters most. helmets cloud ones vision and judgement. Better to ride so you don't get hit then thinking your somehow safe because you have one on. I'm in Los Angeles, right by the Harbor. There is no place there is not heavy traffic close to me nearly 24 hours a day. It's so bad I don't feel safe driving my big vans with deer killer bumpers on the front. If someone wants to ride with a helmet, they should have that choice. California is where I live, they have a helmet law. When this law passed, probably 80 percent of riders stopped riding, just a guess, but I was heavily involved in reselling bikes a the time. It crashed our market. We went from the most expensive place in the USA, to the cheapest, in 2 weeks. My business imploded, it was 1992. I did not recover from that until 2010.
Very cool thanks for sharing.
Wow...I noticed on the last page the woman's boots were made of tanned elk hide...what a cool piece of history

Hi Todd! Buegeleisen is a german name and it has a meaning: smoothing iron. So it's pretty much a "talking name".
