While it's a superhero series at its core, the show essentially offers a take on beloved characters from Marvel and DC Comics through its superhero team.

The Seven are a version of JL, they were modeled after DC characters(the same for the other minor characters), so they have no counterparts with Marvel characters. The comic was originally published by DC comics.

I've never seen any interviews from the creators of the comics tho. Homelander is first and foremost a superman satire. The only 2 nods to cap america I personally see is him saying "America is great / needs heroes / the best etc etc". The one other nod is the Compound V (but that pretty much is the same for every super powered character in that universe) and a "German scientist" each for both super soldier serum and compound V.
I feel like shockwave would be more of a quicksilver since makkari’s powers are more than just his speed, he has super strength and levitation too

Honestly, “The Boys” looks like someone tried to make a Marvel/DC crossover series, got punished for copyright, and changed the characters a little so they could still release it.

Not really, The Boys was originally published by DC's Wildstorm imprint before they dropped it and Dynamite bought the rights.

I like Darrick Roberston's artwork on The Boys and Happy!. It has kind of a dirty quality to it, a reflection of the corrupt cesspool that the stories take place in.

Well actually the boys comics was intended to be a dark version of justice league but DC couldn't publish it because it said it's too dark for its own comics even under vertigo that's why another publisher took the comic and set it to sail.
