3:29 wtf You can't coach that. His instincts were just off the chart. Ex teammate Ryan Clark described it well. He basically said that Troy had God on his side.
He said God was on his side because he didn't want to give away his secrets. He is known for grinding film so he has exposure to every possible formation and play, developing unreal instincts. Of course, experience on the field also plays a factor but his pure speed and intelligence could not be coached.
It's been known that Troy doesn't tell ppl what he's doing on D and they let him have free rein because he might see something that is too hard to explain in the moment and doesn't want to tip the offense so he just does it himself
2:57 polamalu did this almost every game.... on every offensive play for the other team watch how polamalu is always there, he did it so often it became normal 🤦🏽♂️🐐🔥
That hit by Peterson on the Steelers DB (not Polamalu) where he literally runs him over, and his run against the Browns when tosses a DB out of bounds and keeps running are my two favorite plays by him. Look up that run against Cleveland sometime -- Adrian Peterson Browns run or something like that.
I went to school with one who's name was also Jeremiah. Dude was 5'9 in elementary school and threw a 77 mile an hour fast ball in middle school. Dude was a beast. His bro plays/played for the chiefs
He wasn't the biggest guy just 5'10 207lbs, but had the biggest passion for the game. Fun fact: he and his girlfriend/wife would come to my dad's restaurant few years back. I didn't really realize who it was at the time, but I still have a picture with him.
The last year I got my haircut I was sitting in the chair when AP ran over William Gay, whole barbershop went wild and surprisingly my barber didn’t mess me up
I am a Steelers fan and without being bias, I would have a difficult time honestly predicting who would win that matchup most of the time. Marshawn is an absolute animal but Troy is also a whole different beast.
Troy was such an effective tackler because he would be on the ball carrier before the ball carrier even knew he was there. His anticipation of where the ball would go and his closing speed made him lethal. But line Troy and Marshawn up against each other. There's no way Beast Mode doesn't plow right through or hurdle Troy's patented leg tackle.
Bruno Mars yes sir. They are both amazing. One major difference. Troy has much wisdom and talent all while remaining humble. Lynch is super cocky. Although he has a reason to be.
Vikings should sign Peterson to be a back up to cook as we go for a super bowl because he deserves a run and vikings owe it to him. We had no business being a playoff team the year we botched a fg against Seahawks to win
1:33 not even the announcers knew that Troy was baiting that route. Thats how smart this guy was. He knew to trust his speed by taking his eyes off his man knowing exactly where he was going. And did that consistently his entire career.
Who's here after listening to Ryan Clark's interview on Pat McAfee's show. He was talking about the angst he was getting from planning with Polamalu on how to tackle Adrian Peterson whilst the kickers were just leisurely online trading 😆 Also 2:20 did AP knock over his own guard?!
it didnt even look like gay was coming up to make a tackle, his stance was literally that of a receiver trying to protect himself from an incoming hit -.-
The hit was savage but, to step over dude and gain the first down was next level athleticism…and Polamalu will always be a favorite defender of mine…2 greats that are really missed in the NFL

I wish AP gave Troy a chance after he ran over gay on that same play-I could see troy was locked in to go head up but AP bounced it out instead..would’ve been nice to see the outcome lol
I was a TP believer when I saw in one series stopped the rb on 1st; had a pass breakup on the TE on 2nd; and dislodged the ball from the WR downfield on 3rd.
Back when football was great. Household names everywhere. Charles woodson. Champ Bailey. Troy polamalu. Adrian Peterson. Brett favre. Peyton Manning. Tom Brady. Ray Lewis. Marshall faulk. Randy moss. Ladanian Tomlinson. Antonio gates. The list just goes on and on
@@emaricarter4885 honestly I don't really fault dude. As much shit as we give him, he had no choice but to let up on AP because if he followed through, it would have been a penalty for hitting him before he could catch the ball. If he was a couple yards back or if Favre threw the ball earlier, the timing would have been just right. Unfortunately the rb was ap and ap used that split second to get lower so the db didnt have the advantage. Knowing that, this is still a memorable play that no one will forget after seeing it live.
@@emaricarter4885 A.D was like hitting a brick wall running at you. You know these defensive guys had to go to the chiropractor after a game like this.
Not even a question... AP and TP... TP is in the HOF and AP will soon be in the HOF (1st ballot for sure). What's most amazing is the career AP had AFTER the MCL/ACL injury in 2011. Even during the 2012 MVP year (2,097 yards), you could see that AP didn't have quite the same power and fluid gait as before the injury. And yet through sheer will to prove that he could still be a great back, he nearly broke Dickerson's record. Then he had many strong seasons into his mid-30s. Had he not had that injury in 2011, the child abuse scandal in 2014, and the torn meniscus in 2016 (2 more full seasons missed), I think he breaks Emmitt Smith's all-time yardage record. Smith was healthy his entire career. AP rarely played a full season. Injuries plagued his career. So it's amazing he ran for nearly 15,000 yards.
Would you take Adrian Peterson and Troy Polamalu or Christian McCaffery and Jamal Adams? 🤔 Leave a comment below!
Not necessarily close imo, troy was the best safety ive ever seen 1a and 1b with ed reed and prime AP was just different man arguably top 3
NFL Matchup Highlights AP and Polamalu easily I wouldn’t want Crybaby Adams
This one obviously
Troy and AD easy not even close
Not close man this new era can’t touch the old school give me Troy and AP
That Polamalu closing speed something else
TP covered a third of the field, his hair covered the other 2/3. I do miss watching him play.
Next level
Fastest
I thought I was the only one who seen that
