Troy made watching football fun. You just knew he was gonna do something spectacular. There's never been anyone like him. Thank you Troy.
Agreed. Should be a first round hall of famer if not top 5 safeties all time. Early 2000s football was some of the most exciting fun to watch ever
Well there is another troy in san Francisco as we speak Haha
@@cncdan1364 defense was some of the best to watch at that time
Barry sanders was like that. You knew he would do something exciting
Troy made me a Steelers fan. I’m from California.
If this would have been 1000 years ago you just know Troy would have been a warrior who had a legend about them.
💯💯💯

A Samoan warrior! 🇼🇸
Swinging an axe into someones face for spectators at the coliseum
How this man was not elected in the NFLs all time top 100 just blows my mind. He had a football instinct like no other.
wait, he is not considered as one of the top 100 nfl players ever? that is a crime :D
He plays for the Steelers that’s why the nfl loves to hate on us
I agree 👍 💯
Lots of haters up there, who voted him out! Politics bs! Obviously! 😅
Dude was a maniac on the field and the nicest, most soft-spoken, and humble guy off the field. Pure class.
What I loved about Troy is that he never showboated. Never stood over anyone.
I miss Troy so much...watching the Steelers play nowadays just isn't the same
Indeed
Yup. Miss Hines Ward too.
Man, minak fitzpatrick and tj watt are doing a hell of a job, and lets never forget heyward
@@batman8889 I love all those guys especially Heyward as an osu fan
Greatest Player EVER!
Easy there Marty
@@jwsteelers1 No, he's correct. No player changed his side of the ball more than Polamalu. If I were picking a team to play one game, I would start with Polamalu. There are a lot of great QB's to pick from, so Brady wouldn't be it. I can find a defensive end close enough to LT. Even Barry Sanders has a replacement. Troy changes the way you play defense because he can play any position on defense other than NT. He's a guy who can blitz from ten yards deep or crowd the line at the snap and drop into deep coverage without missing a step.
@@jwsteelers1 did he stutter?!
One of the greatest steelers. Of all TIME that's why he's in the Hall of fame.
Man, that dude was the absolute TRUTH. Real talk!!
This man was an athlete that comes once in a lifetime. What a legend, I really wish we could have had him longer
Polamalu is by far myfav player on and off the field
Same
He was so much fun to watch! Quiet beast!
He was so smart and instinctive, probably the only player that a coach let him play wherever he wanted to.
Haven't watched football in a few years. I completely forgot how special he was. 4.33 40, the hits, the interceptions, the strips, the snap timing plays. The guy was physically gifted, obviously studied tape and had off the charts in game awareness and body control. It looks like the guy is moving a million miles and hour but has the control like he's playing in slow motion.
Polamalu was insanely gifted and had an amazing work ethic
This highlight seems like opposing coordinators were telling Troy what the play was going to be and the snap count as well.
Lengendary...listen to how many times they say WOW!...
There will never be another like Troy. Troy was one of the most gifted players in all of football.
No one has ever been more fun to watch! 110% every single play!
The best part about all of the legend's big hits are that they are 100% fundamental, safe and clean hits. Head on the outside and lead with the shoulder! Rare to see anymore these days
Troy will always be missed.........
Happy birthday Troy from Germany
Favorite player of all time ⚫️🟡
There are great players and then there are impact players. Troy was a game changer.
I remember back when they were both playing the the debate was who's better Ed Reed or Troy looking back it wasn't even close Troy polamalu is the greatest who ever done it at the safety position hands down
Parhm Two different positions, two very different players. The one thing Troy had though over all other strong or free safety’s, was an overwhelming presence in the backfield. No safety in the history of the nfl made that big of an impact behind the line of scrimmage.
Steeler fan. Huge Troy fan. But let’s be fair here. Ed Reed was a fuckin boss.
I like Troy more because he played for my team. But let’s not discredit the football genius of Ed Reed
@@nickrizzo4635 can you give me the link to Ed Reed’s 50 greatest play?
Ed Reed was a better pure coverage safety and had a mind for the game like many safeties do not. Think Peyton-esque brains but at the safety position.
Polamalu had something arguably better than brains - the best football instinct the game has ever seen.
Different athletes with different schemes. They each played for the right coordinator who knew how to take advantage of their athletic abilities.
How lucky were we to have him. Never be another.
HBD Troy
Troy was never given his just due.He truly was the best of the best.He was that caliber of player that you wanted to
see play forever.
We love you Troy P. And miss you here in
" THE BURGH "
My favorite player to watch. Truly a play and difference maker. Thanks for the memories.
Troy your awesome man!!! Ngl I was one of the first people to rock your jersey!!! Cheehoo!!!
TROY POLAMALU LEGEND 👏 👏 🏆 🏆
I remember a few years ago, there was a highlight clip of Polamalu running across the field to catch receiver who had a clear field in front of him. It looked like he was going to an easy score. Then Polamalu zoomed in with lightning-fast closing speed and folded him up like Origami. It was one of the most artful things I'd seen in football.
Now I can't find it. It is every bit as incredible as any of these highlights.
You won’t see another one like this for a very long time.
@UC0zSnQjaGwWrP8DvzTaFYnw He is Lawrence Taylor at Safety.
One hell of a highlight reel.LEGEND.
One jersey that I'm proud to own. #steelers 🏈💪
What a great soul.
One of the best of all time!!!!!!!!
Im glad i got to watch him play there will not be another player like him
Troy was amazing. Love watching him play by play.
Troy and Hines were my two favorite players ever. So damn good. So damn dependable. And good human beings, man. Good times
Yes for both players. I saw Hines play QB in high school and at GA.
Then they turn into wide receiver because that didn't trust black QB then. I am from the south and have football since the age of 5. I am now 70's. My Uncle at Ala A&M taught about the game.
My favorite player. He had fun playing and character doing so and was fun to watch. I was so happy when I met him
Simply the best safety to ever play the game! Amazing to witness
my favorite player to play the game. palamalu 😆 thanks for the memories troy
He was a one in a million player !!!
Let's agree Troy is one of the most clutch defensive players of all time!!!
There’s some people who’s were born to play this game. Troy is one of those people.
Troy should easily be a top 100 player of all time.
Troy polamalu is running every where. Great job Troy L
the most instinctual player ever and there's no close second
I forgot how much he completely blew up the opposition's play when he would shoot the gap. My favorite game with him is still the 2005 AFC Div. against the Colts. There was only one other Steeler who had the same impact on the opposition with disrupting the plays and that was Joe Greene
thank you Troy favorite player forever
Polamalu's timing sacks of QB are like Water Boy replays. Well deserved HOFer.
This guy was always around the football 🏈
Beast ..!!! 🔥 love this guy along with Mike Alstott legends ..!!! 🔥
Freak in the most savage way a man can be .!!!!
Can literally do it all!! Prob could kick off if he wanted to
Look at how quickly he could accelerate and generate power. Enough said. 🔥
This guy was special u can tell he studied film he had a deep understanding of where to be at it’s crazy
Palomalu is like a lion in the Savanna. Hunting and bringing them down. And a very classy guy. May fav.
Troy Polumalo I own your home and road jersey!s! Hall of Famer always great job to the Steelers!
Happy Birthday to the GOAT 🐐🖤💛🖤💛
Here before the “Ed ReEd WaS bEtTeR” comments
They were both great players. Troy had more sacks and tackles. Ed had twice as many interceptions and score twice as many TDs. I would want both on my team. They both had the same amount of fumbles.
@@CharlesWinters-ie3jy Yeah I don’t consider Ed greater than Troy, nor do I consider Troy greater than Ed
Bro as soon as you saw him walk up to the line you know he's about to do some cool shit
The Greatest of all Time 🇼🇸🇦🇸💪🏾
I really miss Troy. He was my favorite player back in his time. I already like the Steelers but I fell in love with them when he played. Go Troy.
With love your favorite fan.
But seriously, has to have had the best timing ever, no one else had as many sacks where they got to the QB at the exact same time the ball did.
Troy was a machine
My all time favorite!! Love that energy and always brought the excitement!! 🖤💛
We gotta get Talanoa Hufanga. We have a need for safety depth and he’s done well in the slot, in the box, and shows solid instincts. He’s also made special teams contributions so he’s got a shot. Not to mention he’s working with Troy this offseason
If he's there in the 3rd hopefully he's on their list
Yo I'm a niners fan and love watching hufanga play even got his jersey can't wait for dude to explode.
Hufanga suckx
Him and Sanders were my fav to watch back in the day
Best football player ever ❤️ the reason I played and my son will
This man’s explosiveness was out of this world. How he could get low and just charge and make a tackle with a defender in front of him was not normal. You knew he was just gonna get there somehow someway.
Most instinctive football player I ever seen. Troy would just teleport around the field making plays on the ball downfield, hits on receivers, plus sacks and tackles in the backfield. Complete Safety.
He was a terror to other teams offenses dude was a beast
one helll of an athlete
He murdered the poor Titans over and over. Much respect to this incredible player. Best snap timing of any defender in history.
One of a kind! One of the best!
#41 I wish when video clips of TPs hit on Hill are shown that they would let you see just a few seconds more. Hill is rocked to his bones and shook up. I was hit like that in high school and every time I see this play I feel for Hill.
Loved watching Troy play. He enjoyed the game. played at full speed, and was humble. Clean playing but hard hitting. Wish more were like him.
He is my vote for the best football player, all positions, ever. Plenty of great HOzF players but nobody did the superhuman things Troy did. Brady best QB, for example but the greatest player ever - Troy.
My favorite Steeler of all time
This man was a monster. I miss watching him play.
Troy man he's goated.......
Fav player. Has there ever been anybody else that could time the snap like he could? Sack the QB on running plays?
I love this
I’m a ravens fan but I was also a fan of this guy as well … much respect
👑👑. El rey de la anticipación 😎😎
It's so cool that Troy caught 2 TD passes in the NFL from his college roommate.
Troy was great probably one of my all time favorites….. he was unlike something I’ve never seen!
I can't believe the blocked kick wasn't in there. But the dude made SO MANY plays it is tough. Never seen a player jump the snap better than him, and we may never see one do it as good and often as he did.............dude is a legend. And I am not even a Steelers fan.
In the bowl at that moment I felt like he knew they needed that play killer instinct 🔥🔥
I miss watching football with Troy he really is an amazing athlete
Polamalu was a cheat code 💪🏾🔥
AWESOME🖤💛💯
Best ever
Play #40 was GOLDEN!!!!!!! Pure gold
Man do I miss watching this guy play football! Always felt like my Steelers had a chance with him in the lineup!
The greatest safety to ever play football. Ward, Harrison, Ben,, bettis,
He spent more time in the opposition's backfield than they did. Hundreds of big hits but never dirty. Just an amazing athlete!
One of many reasons I love that Steelers team was every defensive td. Whoever the ball carrier was had an entourage of blockers on the way to the end zone.
My favorite defensive player I got to watch
WOOOOHOOOO Happy Birthday Troy Palamalu!!!!!!!!!!!
#28 he isn't even on the screen at the snap and he tackles the fastest RB in the backfield what the fuck
Insanely talented yet so down to earth, looked like he was having a great time on the field.
I remember as a Auburn fan seeing him on USC when they got big again and u could see then he was a future hall of famer
The best to ever play the position
