In today's Europa Universalis IV (EU4) video we will be voiding ALL provinces in the world outside of the Holy Roman Empire and giving all of the princes of the HRE the Colonize Pls buff to let them repopulate the world. There are many different tags who can come out on top, and I'm curious to see who will!

Funny thing historically the Angles and the Saxons living in north Germany also conquered Brittan and that's kinda what we are seeing in this game with Frisia and Holstein

I don’t know if this is possible but maybe you could try to put every culture into one group? It would be interesting to see how people do with less unrest, maybe giving everyone a tolerance of heretics & heathens along with it would be interesting just to see which nations blob out the most with less unrest in their provinces. Also empires would be super powerful since they would get a culture union on the entire world which would be funny

This seems like it could be a fun challenge campaign.
Goal: prevent as much colonizing as possible
So I suppose you'd start as Austria and try to take all border/coast provinces and destroy colonies before they can settle
The he of empires soundtrack in the background kept throwing me off.
Hungary always ends up under a PU with Austria in my playthroughs, I forgot that it wasn't in the hre

How do you delete every tag that's not part of the HRE?
Manually going observer and dlet, or using some sort of mod/command?
Look up run script on the wiki, they basically allow you to make mods in real time with the game open

Is it possible that the AI is making a 300 IQ move with keeping the uncolonized provinces to artificially retain the "Colonize please" modifier for the free money ?

@@Chewbert You sure about that ? I can imagine that there were some major AI changes last patch regarding conditional modifiers due to the whole Riga not allowed to expand thing, I don't see a reason why the AI would not be able to handle this one as well ... to be fair though, I don't actually know if the AI Riga is actually able to handle their modifier right
I can say with 100% certainty that the AI is not going to predict losing a modifier when calculating where to colonize.
But the AI improvements in the last patch are great!
Not here, but I'm certain if you play the game and vassalize Norway, they won't do anything even if they are an opm in an uncolonized world

Question: What did you do to delete the tags that aren't in the empire? Trying to fix a stupid bug with custom world, because some people actually play custom world in Multiplayer. And in that lots of nations still exist with random ass provinces. So i created a script to just insert all the provinces in the world into and make the script delete the lines of code mentioning controll and ownership. So just curious about how you went about doing it.
I used a run script that selected every_province with a limit of is_in_empire = no and cede_province = --- and that deletes it. I also deleted forts to make it cleaner
@@Chewbert Nice. Yeah when i made my script i had no idea what you could do to do it. Only that it only seemed possible within the province files. I could probably have improved my script to be more efficient tho. As i had to add in all tags, rather than just find the lines of code that contained owner = and controller = but some provinces in spain and sweden etc were a nightmare, since for some reason pdx feels the need to add historical facts into their files, that have no effect on the actual game. But anyways. Thanks.
It’s not a big deal at all but I’ll just tell you for future reference that you are pronouncing Holstein as if it were spelled Holstien. Though I get that’s how we pronounce the type of cow in English, but It’s stein like at the end of Frankenstein.
Interesting Holstein became Russia as Peter III was born in Holstein and had affections for Germany.
I MUCH prefer the look of the uncolonized terrain over the plain gray.
So my takeaway here is that if I allow someone to steal all my accounts I can get paid to make a convincing VPN commercial.
