- Find out why we left India in a hurry, booking a very last minute flight that was leaving from the airport only 1.5 hour later. Luckily all in all our travel day went smooth and ended fairly well and we managed to travel out of India and made it to our next destination.

So far it seems like a good choice! We hope to be able to see some of the nature in the coming weeks. We are looking for some place to stay that has easy access to nature, not too many crowds, but also good access to hospitals and food. Among the three destinations, you made the right choice considering the current development and how vast the island Taiwan is compare to the other two. I can't imagine being stuck in Singapore or HK for more than two weeks. There are simply not many places you can visit there especially during this Covid-19 pandemic.

Feeling happy for you to manage landed in Taiwan right before the border gets closed. Really admire your courage... You made the right decision. Just last night there was a segment on our news here in America about Taiwan and how successful they’ve been at controlling the virus and all the precautions. It showed Taiwanese people living abroad (UK, U.S.) returning to Taiwan to feel safe. But what a super stressful day and flights for you!

Things are a mess here in the U.S. Very unorganized and slow to put restrictions in place.

Yes we feel very fortunate with our choice. Luckily we came to Taiwan.
Would love to see a video about your travel costs, any big unexpected expenses and how your actual expenses compare to your planning. Glad you're safe!
Great idea. We'll look into that the coming weeks. For us, so far, the biggest unexpected expenses have been flights we had to take on short term notice. My (Naick) grandmother died in May last year, which meant taking a flight on short notice from Colombia to Belgium. Don't remember exactly how much but it was about 1600-1800 euro for both of us. I would do it again without a doubt, but that hurt financially. Similarly, our plan was to go to Singapore after India. Flights for both of us would have been 180-220 euro. Now we flew on a whim to Taiwan to get to safety which costs us about 700 euro. But other than that we haven't had very big mishaps.
I like watching your videos specially I watched your Russian videos which I very informative about traveling in trans Siberian railway. I also saw your Delhi to Varanasi video and it was very sad to see an unfortunate incident at night in the train.It was very shameful incident I really felt sad.Be safe and travel safely.

Glad to see you both settled and safe - we had that moment in Vietnam - 'It's getting dodgy - it's time to leave' - and we were out of there the next morning - such a shame. We did come back to the UK but have found somewhere to be distanced from everyone until things get better. That being said, not sure if staying away from the west might have been a better idea. Either way - as long as safe/well and practising distancing, thats the main thing. Great Vlog!
Agreed with that 😊 nobody can know what the right choice is at this point I guess, but if you are somewhere with a good healthcare system and practice social distancing that is already a lot 👍🏻

I love your story on why you left India … I was in Taiwan (arrived on March 6) for a planned 22 day trip. Received a call from home (USA) on March 12 encouraging me to come home ASAP. So, I left a place where there were very few C-19 cases and returned to Ohio (currently 24,000+)!!!!
Hindsight is always 20/20. It's never bad to be at home though. Stay safe ;)

Taiwan didn't ask everyone for home quarantine for. The 14 days home quarantine rule is only for people from abroad come back to Taiwan. That is why you are confused in another video which you went out from home quarantine and saw why Taiwan people in the street is as usual.

Coming to this video after I have watched most of your latest ones after landing in Taiwan, it just occurred to me that you are that close to being shut off Taiwan's borders had your layover in Bangkok been delayed by a few hours or one of the airports changed their mind about receiving landing planes from other places.
YES! That is so true. So many flights were cancelled when we were on our layover in Bangkok, we were really really lucky. Such a stressful day that was... It is weird looking back on it now how it all turned out so well, our plan to go to Taiwan :) at the time, we were not sure if it was the right decision because the flights were expensive, we dropped some stuff we had planned in India and left in a moment's notice when we had no way of knowing if Taiwan would end up being any safer than the rest of the world. But in the end it was the best decision we could have possibly made :)
also go to south India, Andaman, Goa and east India which is stunningly contrast to north India. India is a continent with most diversity any where in world and got everything the world has.

quarantine can get subsidies NT$1,000 (US$33) a person per day, from Taiwan government.

do you know? Foreigners enter the country after 14 days of isolation. You can apply for 14 days of living expenses. NT$1,000 per day. One person a day. You two can get 28,000 yuan. If you are unclear, you can ask the Taiwan police. how to apply
how did you find n apt in taiwan...airbnb or how...how much do you pay?!
You can find a lot of places on airbnb and similar sites (starting around 30 usd per night I think) or you can stay with someone you know

That is a good question. We have travel insurance. I think it would be worth making a video.
