    Atraxa greatest strength it's the two wincons it has available. Made up by only useful cards, with no fats added to it. Problem is that all the rest you said is true. The format needs an alternative to Food Chain in the same way breach revolutionized the format.

    Statistics really only help if their based off players who know what their doing. For example, if there was a group of say eleven players but they were REALLY good with Sram, Senior Edificer. You'd think Sram, Senior Edificer was a "top tier commander" option as they know how to play the deck, they have all the cards to make him work. Then, Timmy gets a Sram, Senior Edificer, builds a deck using what he has. And gets "shut down" and never does anything meaningful. Now let's swap the situation, Let's say there's eleven Timmy's who are just there to play commander and see how fast they lose to what none sense, and there's one player who showed up and made top five with Sram, Senior Edificer. The statistics are going to be skewed.

    Hold on, a moment here, you didn't talk about any of what I would call my strongest wincons. I have several deck ideas. I have been running this as my main commander since release, and I run a heavly dimir based Thoracle combo. I also run a Bolas's Citadel as it's a more lethal wincon for me than Ad Nauseum, Hullbreaker Horror, and Walking Balista. I tried running a Geae's Cradle but the deck playes more Instants, sorceries, and Artifacts than anything else. I would agree, most of what you talked about is trash, I have tried over $1200 in combo pieces for Atraxa. I am willing to play people with the deck over discord if anyone's interested in seeing it.

    Its a good deck i just built it i love it
    Cons:
    Very mid range
    Lacking red
    Pros:
    Cars Advantage in command zone
    Mana fixing with green
    Control with blue
    Stax with white
    Imho its dropping in win rate because there are a ton of other decks in the format that compete just as good and faster but everybody at the table gangs up on atraxa (for good reason)

  • @sasanafgani2668
    @sasanafgani2668 Před 2 měsíci +1

    I think another thing to consider with commanders win rates in cEDH is that people net deck too much, often times trying to make an existing shell work for a new commander, using same cards or bad cards that they would in other decks. This lazy deck building style with combination of lack of skill to pilot leads to lackluster gameplay and performance. True you have your staples that every deck plays, but having secret tech and understanding how to use it within your pod is what separates the winners from the losers.

  • @drew941
    @drew941 Před 2 měsíci +13

    When one of the more prominent players gets caught cheating and banned from tournaments, the deck's winrate will get worse.
    It's a very mid list that's slow and plays bad wincons
    Very skeptical of decks that do well online, yet never achieve anything at in person events

    I would prefer if you would also track the change im draw%. Because if you add 8% draw chance, but lose 1 % winrate, than this is good for a lot of tours, whereas you are arguing for that is bad.

  • @IsTheLastChoice

    What means "Average draw rate"? It's the percentage of the deck you see/draw each game? A average draw rate of 50% means that in a normal game you see half your deck?
    How does this value is affected by combos that draw the hole deck? Those games count as 100% draw rate?

      Drawing the game. Like, nobody wins or loses. That can happen in a time-out scenario or if Animate Dead+WGD doesnt have a way to stop looping, or a similar event occurs. Players can also ID - Intentionally draw.

  • @mrJanbenes
    @mrJanbenes Před 2 měsíci +3

    Problem with Atraxa is that she is extremely fragile, you have no comeback from anything really, your oonly win con is cycling BowMaster through a convoluted line and the other is Thoracle, it is extermely telegraphed and you cant really do much else even if you hit infiinite mana and have your whole deck drawn, if you dont include ballista that is. Everytime I see Atraxa I am happy to know that this will be easy game if I play some Graveyard hate, which as a stax player I run plenty.

Best game we had was I battled them with my Yargle and Multani deck and we both got down to the one of us is going to win next turn and I clutched out Life/Death followed up with Triumph of the Hordes: LOL We both jumped out of our chairs like it was the super bowl and the final touchdown to win the game! Super fun game. Never underestimate a budget Yargle and Multani deck ;p

    Because she is slow. Tapping 7 to cast her is meh. Then you get to watch your opponents go for wins while your tapped out.
