1:12:44 - I actually had a duplicate of this and had no idea you were after it so I’m glad you enjoyed!
1:16:33 - We sent these three abominations in after being gifted them by a friend. Glad the tattoos became such a feature.
1:42:40 - This one is specifically from my wife. She works at Target and that was a pre-order bonus they gave out. She had a few extra and wanted to send one your way.
2:01:55 - We sent this custom pack specifically for 9 and 7. Angeal was of course in there as a joke and I was happy to see that reaction and the reference to the exact scene I included it for.

Thanks for opening my cards! I really didn't expect those milk and cheese cards to be so gruesome. Also I DID NOT KNOW there was a tracking thing in the Obama pack! Oh and thanks for showing off the Warf Figure and Hollow Blue Barrel I got you! Overall this has to be one of the best CardSauce's we've ever gotten imo!

That "tracking device" was very common back in the day for trading cards. It was a seurity tag used to prevent theft, not a tracking device lol

13:45 the device is a mag-strip, vinnlebert, they're used to prevent shoplifters and will set off those metal detector looking things at shop entrances. They're deactivated by stronger magnetic forces at checkout. It doesn't track shit and is barely functional technology that doesn't work half the time because other strips might deactivate them in the rolls they come on. They also could be deactivated by bending them slightly which is why it was on hard card stock instead of packaging.

Concerning that gas price on the Coca Cola cards: $0.22 in 1926 is the equivalent $3.88 in 2024. And that was for ~40 octane gas. Strangely, our gas price is very decent today based on that metric.
People keep complaining about the gas prices, but they were higher like 10 years ago than they are now.

The fact that those cards exist amazes me. Vinny's reaction to them is perfect. The frigging Beanie Babies follow up last time made it even more funny.
2:40:50 so I am guessing the concept of a Panini sticker album is unheard of in the United States. I Europe that stuff was big in the 90s and early 2000s. Yes, those are stickers. You buy a sticker album for like a dollar that has all these empty spaces with numbers in it and then you buy packs of stickers and paste them into your album. Then the duplicate stickers were traded in the schoolyard or wherever. There were albums and stickers about pretty much anything but the football/soccer albums seemed to be the most popular. There was one for every european and for every world championship. I probably wasted as much money on panini stickers than on pokemon cards in the 90s, that stuff was addictive.
Big in Latam too. I used to bet them with my classmates on different games we played with them (for example we set an arbitrary goal like a wall and threw the stickers the one that was closer won both stickers)

holographic/holo specifically means that it SPECIFICALLY shines/shifts RAINBOW, so not every shiny or foil card is holo haha (I enjoy nail polish, and Simply Nailogical has driven that into our brains lol)

I'd really love to see Vinny open more Final Fantasy Trading cards... and more NEWER Opus (booster) packs. Cause he was mostly opening Opus 2, 3 and 4 and we are getting Opus 23 and 24 later this year. At least he had a few packs from Opus 8 and 22. If Vinny wants to see more beautiful art cards from the Final Fantasy card series he needs see stuff from the other opus packs too. Very jealous he got that full art Edea and foil Cloud (from Opus 8 since I don't have a lot from that set).

I dabble in stereoscopic 3D photography (thanks to Brian May for getting me interested and teaching us how to do it lol) so I generally have a stereoscope viewer handy. The Star Trek cards are actually pretty good stereo 3D images that work well, it is just a shame how small they are. They could have been bigger and lined up differently so it could have worked with bigger images.
