As a huge synthwave fan, a lot of this music was made by smaller artists who probably have no idea their music is in this slop.

Yes a lot of this music is from Bandcamp pages, so they likely have a bot crawler that downloads bandcamp songs at random for a particular genre.

This is horrifying. Games relying this heavily on AI are disrespectful and have no monetary worth. I will pay $ for a short 8-bit indy with character way before I drop money on this digital fart.

@@DrHojo123 he did say "relying this heavily". it can work for saving time during development (basically placeholder content or "imagination-stimulants") but obvious AI art in the end-product rubs the wrong way, it comes off lazy and makes you wonder what other aspects of the game were undercooked
@@spacebassist I think a mix of real art and ai can work using it as a base then fixing it up using your own style etc as you said place holder pretty much. Same with voices and music. I have even seen coders use chatgpt to help with code of course fixing it up and adding to it, but ya.
@@DrHojo123 i think that especially applies for writing, chances are you're going to take the output and tweak it how you want and at some point you realise it'd be easier to write in your style from the ground-up
i still think it can work as a base though, it tends to need some "intervention" to make it good or fit your idea

Which is a whole different rabbit hole because it would be hard to write bills that could even cover the depths that the psychological manipulation goes to. Problem is those in power and those with money are looking past it blindly. Doesn't matter to them if it means they can set themselves up for life and not live long enough to deal with the consequences.

Steam doesn’t allow AI games, from what I can remember.
From what I see, I think a lot of people are misinterpreting that. The ban is specifically for AI trained on copyrighted works. Some time after that, they even clarified that games using AI would need disclaimers stating that it was used
