      I bought a 07 with my mom and it has 150k and before I bought it I asked my dad if he wanted to bring me and test drive it and see if it is a good first car he said he didn’t want to bother coming because he wasn’t spending money on it so why would he come. Once I bought it for 3k he got all mad cause he said I could have gotten something way better with his knowledge 🤦 now I have to sell it and he’s making me get something that costs more and is different. I didn’t want to spend much money buying it so I can mod it up but welp cause I did a terrible thing.

    The scion TC has the looks, the 2.4 engine, but the best of all is that it's a Toyota Camry. Can't be more reliable than that 😌😌

      +EElectric_M yeah they're pretty similar but the tc was definitely a fun car to drive.

    • @TheRanchNumber51
      @TheRanchNumber51 Před 6 lety +2

      It's made by Toyota and has the same engine as the Camry, that's where the similarities end. The only thing I'd say is a MUST on them is getting a cold-air intake or a turbo. Otherwise they sound like a Camry.

      Usually but that doesnt mean they always make the most reliable cars. Every company makes mistakes from time to time and toyota is no exception

  • @macuse2008
    @macuse2008 Před 4 lety +2

    This car is solid and typical Toyota but coming from a gti it’s nowhere near as refined, lots of rattles and a noisy engine. But that said it is much more trouble free so I settled on it and no regrets!

    • @TheRanchNumber51
      @TheRanchNumber51 Před 6 lety

      I bought my black tC when they first came out. Each dealership had only one or two, which made finding anything besides white or silver difficult (I wanted graphite), and a manual even harder. I settled for black. i bought it in November of 2004 and it's still going strong. The clutch ended up being faulty (either part or installation) and needed replacement at 18k, which they would not cover because it's a "wear and tear" part (I thought the clutch was supposed to be stiff, like my '84 Nissan... lesson learned). The only other thing that really needed replacement was the A/C compressor at 65k miles (Phoenix, AZ) but I have a personal mechanic that replaced the clutch coil in it for $250. It now has almost 90k miles and I don't plan on getting rid of it. It is fun to drive.

    Have an 08 auto. Wish i went with the manual but never the less a reliable and great value (was rated one of the best value budget compacts) There is a thing about its 2az fe engine burning more oil than normal,toyota says its nothing to be concerned about...? and head bolts stripping. Ive seen quite a few posts on forums people experiencing these problems. Ive never experience these issues my self,maybe i haven't driven mine as hard 😛 R.I.P scion,it was an experimental brand and hopefully Toyota learned that the majority of its targeted demographics wanted more performance more so than value and in-car gadgetry☺ still love the tc.

    • @Seanbeingsean
      @Seanbeingsean  Před 7 lety +2

      +guylandry1992 the TC and frs were the only scion successes. Though half the people with frs rebadge them as an 86. So they started making more real 86 now. The tc was the only real loser but they weren't that impressive. I still wouldn't be surprised if Toyota started making something similar with their badge on it i the future

    Toyota’s oil consumption test that they make you take before they would fix your car is a joke. It’s a clever idea they came up with To get out of standing behind their product and fixing the car. They would make you bring it in pay for a oil change not let you see how much oil they added to your car. Then completely seal the system to where you can’t even check the oil level without voiding the test. Then have you drive it for 1300 miles bring it back Pay for an oil change again and drain the oil and measure it which again they wouldn’t let you watch them then say it didn’t burn enough oil to fail the test so they won’t fix it. And if you ended up running your car out of oil and locking up the motor because you couldn’t check your oil it would void the test and you would have to pay for a new engine out of pocket then they would offer you one more test. WHAT A JOKE! My 2010 Scion TC started burning oil around 40,000 miles. 2 or 3 quarts every 5000 miles and I did all my maintenance on schedule or slightly before. It was a extremely well-maintained car. I will never buy another Toyota product again after dealing with them about this problem.

      . I never owned A tc.. but My family Is a Honda/Toyota family. and I can tell you.. If you even have problems with the car, They'll all be affordable problems. I personally drive a Honda Accord, and I think the price I've spent on maintenance isn't too bad (About 2,000 soon lol) but you won't have that prob if you take care of it. If you take care of it, the thing will defffffff reward you

      Shantanu Kashyap try to talk me down to a more realistic price but between u and me even at 6k it’s a steal. Will run forever. But some models do dip a bit of oil though so be aware of that. Started up near 90k. Mine has 130k now. Got it at 79k. Only work I’ve had done was a tune up, throttle clean, muffler replacement n oil changes at the dealership. Drives like a dream. Great factory audio. Great acceleration and no CVT 💜
