What a lovely aunt! These girls will always remember the fun they had in the garden.
Hi Tee, when my daughters were this age they would help me in the garden. I was a single mom and we didn’t have a lot of money, but we always had fresh food to eat. I also canned, froze and dried fruit and veggies so we could use them year round. My daughters are now in their fourties’ with children of their own. They each have gardens and have their little boys help harvest the vegetables. What you are growing now is so much more than produce. You are building memories and educating the girls about how to take care of themselves and to respect the land. Good for you Mama! Much love!

I love how you have the girls out in garden learning how to grow and harvest their food at young age. They are so engaged and they are learning a survival skill. I didnt do that with my daughters when they were young we never had the space. Now both my daughters live together in a house with huge backyard they are aged 32 and 24. I built them a garden for the first time this year and had them help so they could learn. They didnt know anything about growing food but they are excited to learn and im teaching them everything i know. They are just as engaged and excited at their age as your daughters are. Their yard was a hot mess before the garden and was infested with grubs to the point their front yard looked like a beige rug. I showed them step by step how to get rid of them and grow a plush green lawn. They had the worst looking yard on the block but now its just as green and plush as everyone else's. They are already planning and buying supplies to expand their backyard garden for next year.

I just came across your page and I love your garden 😍...I would love to see 👀 a video on how you cook or can your harvest. I was born and raised in the north but always had a desire to have a garden but because it stay more cold here I haven't been successful so I get so much enjoyment in watching other gardeners in their garden.
My california wonders are pretty small as well...my plants may be a little bigger than yours but my peppers are still not that big.

When you see those eggs, use some tape to remove them from your plants and squash them. If you don't get rid of the eggs, even on plants that are already gone, when they're adults they can live throughout the winter in sheltered places.
