Gorgeous betta. Love the name. Got my first betta in 2016. Lady bought him at Walmart then didn't want him asked if wanted him so I took him home. He was a pale off white. Turned out he was stressed by the poor care he was given at Walmart. After giving him proper care he turned a beautiful red with blue streaked fins and tail. Had trouble naming him but I would greet him with either dude or bubaloo so I named him Little Dude Bubaloo. He would lean against my finger and would swim into my open palm and just lay there. Cool guy. Got hooked on betta and bought more - all but one were double fantails.Decided to name them after rock stars - will never run out of names. I have Elton, Daltry, Freddy (Mercury), Ringo, Simon, Garfunkel, Hendrix (he is a black orchid fantail ($26) color is blackish purple with white trim on outer edges of tail and fins he looked like the black with white fringe outfit Jimmy Hendrix wore), Moon (Keith Moon drummer for The Who) he is a teal blue double tail, and of course there's Jagger (every time I walk into room he swims back and forth the length of the tank like Mick Jagger on stage and continues until I put two fingers into the tank and he swims in and out my fingers like running an obstacle course. Glad to know I'm not the only one who adores bettas. Who'd have though bettas can melt a heart. Love your videos. I lost Little Dude Bubaloo in 2019 and buried him in a potted plant of Forget-me-nots. Love your videos.

Yes you are correct. The floating plants are preventing the ones in the substrate from getting enough light.
not only that but with a low bioload that massave plant will absorb all the nitrate super fast and probably outcompeat the smaller plants maybe. i could be wrong. It is also taking up alot of light.

you got a lot hornwort you should sell small bundles locally :D
My guess is that Much Hornwort is taking up more of the nutrients from the other plants 🌱

I was suprised you went out with lots of cities sheltering in place!
For snails, I use aquarium salt and dip my plants I get from my LFS. I had them once and I tore my tank apart and salted them then rinsed everything including the gravel.
For the plants, I would cut back the tall ones or push them aside for more light to hit the bottom. If that doesn't work, it might be good to look into CO2.
A nice piece of driftwood (or more), would look great in that tank!

Bro been here since 5k it is 1 30 for me at night and I stay up to watch ur vids love em I need some help I have a 75 gallon tank and I wanna make a Betta tank what gets along best with the betta also they are melting back because the snails where eating them and if they still don’t grow remove the other plants a bit

His name is Zeta the Betta. I love Liberty for his name! So cool! I also love how you pronounce betta not beta. There’s a difference! 🐡🐌🙂

Because the big plant is blocking the light to the melting ones. That's why they're melting. Just trim the shit out of it and give it a little time. The melting ones should come back. Good luck. 👍😎✌🍀
Using an alum solution on plants kills snails and snail eggs. You have to sail the plants in an alum solution then rinse it off before you put them in the fish tanks. I can't remember for how long or the concentration though.

Floaters might be using up all the nutrients that the ones in substrate need
Maybe trim back the hornwort! That should help.
Those are cryptocorynes they melt because of change in environment (being put in another tank) all leaves can melt but eventually new leaves will pop up again. They just need to adapt to your tank.
Petco has better looking bettas then petsmart and petco has a better selection...but u have to go when they get their shipment first thing...

I had same problem get 4 pea puffers there awesome small and love snals and only get a half inch my beta lives well with them
Throw a yoyo/Pakistani loach in there and it'll make short work of those snails! Slurp them out of their shells.
loosen your substrate and try root tabs
Waaaay too much plant stuff going on in the Nano and I would take out 75% of the floating plants.

IFG your cryptocorne is melting back because it is a shallow water plant the can be found at the top to mid section in creeks and streams ofter found on tree roots in the water.. So with being said od attach them to driftwood or tuck in rocks😊 love your vids bro !!

That’s really all pet stores dude. I work at a per store and we keep them in those small tubs as well. Rest assured they do get clean water every other day, and are fed accordingly. However, it’s just to save room.
They need some fertilizer or some root tabs or better looknup diy co2 itll help wonders if not then go to Walmart and look for something called osmocote plus. Their like little brown/yellow pellets. Clean out your take and put in a scoop of osmocote and then replant everything normally and it should grow luscious in a week or 2. 👍🏼
I just picked one up just like him a king koi I paid 20 dollars for him after I left I was like my hubby is not going yo be happy... I have never spent that much on a fish... but he is cool.... his colors are cool the pearl like white scale are eye catching..
The plants hornwort on top to much of it go down to 4 stems add more plants to the bottom would be cool aswell but its ultimately up to you. Stay fishy my friend

Maybe the roots are too deep into the substrate.
I recently just got a large red tiger nemo male koi betta fish that I named Firecracker at the pet store that’s not too far away from my new workplace cause my Crown tail betta passed away in January of this year (2021) due to bloat

Borrow a clown loach for a day and it will eat all of your snails. I actually set up a tank to breed the pest snails as a snack for mine.

your betta's need flaring so its fins wont fold/clamp. Flare it before and after eating and 10 mins is enough
