As for the snare sound, a lot of trial and error with different snares and different tunings! If you know exactly what gear he used, that's a great starting point!

My God what size is that China your using? Sounds incredible a zildgian a custom or sound effects line? I've been on the hunt for a good sounding China for years, all the ones in stores sound like gongs, thanks for the response you've got a new subscriber

All of my china cymbals in this setup are from the Zildjian Oriental China Trash series!
The two big ones are 16" and 18", but I also have the 8", 10", 12", 13", and 14" in this kit!
