Native Floridian here.I'm in N FL by Gainesville. Just got done prepping. The path is like right over us right now. Crossing my fingers we all are good. Hopefully power won't be out for weeks. This heat is insane this year. My youngest is sick like you guys and I'm sure the elderly can't take the heat. Everyone in the path stay safe!

Prayers you all feel better. We are hoping the hurricane does not hit us also. We had high winds and rain already. We just built a new home and moved in on Aug 25. Hurricane season is the only time I wish I lived elsewhere. The rest of the year I love Florida Living! Each time is very unsettling with plenty of uncertainties. Being prepared is the most important task. You're doing a great job with that.

And just coming home from work some days I’m just worn out. My morning start at 4am sometimes don’t end till 11. My youngest son who is 10 wakes up 5 but he hits the bed at 8unless we r in season for his sports lol. Y’all stay safe.

I feel for you. I hope you make it through the hurricane okay. I live in North Georgia. And I’m glad I’m North right now. There has been something going around here too. My husband got it from taking our grandkids to school. And I have been fighting to not get it for the last week. He’s doing better now. I hope you all keep your power. I know that stinks when the power goes out when it’s hot. And I hope you all start feeling better too. My house is a disaster area right now. I’m really hoping to clean tomorrow. I had two stray dogs show up today. And they were chasing all the cats I feed all over. And I think they are still outside. Because my dogs just came running in here. They were in bed with my husband. I use wipes like that after my younger grandkids come to visit. Because they are just little germ magnets. I guess if you’ve been through a hurricane before you know what to expect. They’re saying the hurricane will be a category four by the time it hits land. Grilling is a great idea. I never thought of something like that. Our power goes out here from trees taking out power lines. We haven’t had that for a few weeks. But it’s raining here. And a city close to us some people got there townhouses flooded yesterday. And it rained more tonight. I have a sister and brother in law who live close to the east coast. Close to Fort Lauderdale. They have a condo. So I’m sure it will be fine. I’m glad you’re feeling better right before the hurricane hits. Be safe.

We had the same "illness" about two weeks ago and you are correct... it comes waves! Ours only lasted about 10 days! I hope you feel better soon and prayers for all of Florida!
