I absolutely agree with you. I am a manager in an IT company my salary is 1.75 lakhs per months but my personal life is fallen apart. My divorce case is going on in court, my wife has my daughters custody and I think this happened coz of somewhere I am a very dedicated employee. Sometimes i even sleep in office to not miss the deadlines. I realise this at the age of 37 however didn't know all of this when I was young and I took my family for granted.

I graduated from IIT kanpur way back in 1997. That time 100% of the people wanted to land abroad for relevant/irrelevant reasons. And the intensity to grab anything ,'foreign" was high. But I deliberately stayed back in India. I do not know what I have lost and what "they" have gained. Actually peer pressure, social pressures, family pressures work very well in India and these things "push" people to try to gain and showcase visible achievements. Many of my friends are IAS/IPS/IRS etc with reasonably good bank balances but skewed "life" The worst part is such people carry a superficial persona and a psychological mindset to act in a particular manner only. For instance most of my friends think that financially i am a poor guy. But i have created wealth that is more than 10 times compared to some of these guys but i do not have a glitter nor do i try to showcase it. I am a silent hustler. I found my lifestyle very fulfilling and peaceful...far away from the din of the community center.

The next millionaire next door is a book in which you'll find quite the validation in..it explains how people that flash it had the wealth but they're losing what they could build due to flashing it sadly..and you are like that quiet millionaire in the neighbourhood from that book regardless of what your net worth is because it's not the "naire"/net worth that matters but financial freedom & personal satisfaction.
      - as for abroad there are pros & cons for everything. And today you can work/study at similar levels for international organizations via freelancing & study online than having to go abroad so i decided to not go and be with my parents.

@@TK-yj8tifigure out the way to improve & value productivity over employees working till burning out, as this video says. stop trying to put just companies goals above all because a company cannot thrive without employees happiness,mental/physical health and when employees sense that company only cares for itself & money over their well being, they obviously would have to care about themselves.
      - & not every promotion means a transfer/excessive responsibility so doesn't mean everyone has to reject promotions, that's just how it worked out for the person above. Smart decisions can be opposite things for different peoples different circumstances sometimes.

Whatsapp pe smile kerte hue photo tak nahi daal sakte, ye situation ho jaati hei. Koi banda khush hei apni personal life ya apni kisi hobby mei ye unse dekha nahi jata. Usko upar se upar aur kaam dete jaate hein. Toxicity has seeped deep into the Indian corporate structure and society.

The main thing I learnt from this video is that for fulfilling just one aspect of life one cannot afford or should not afford to sacrifice all the aspects of their life!
Because ultimately it's not worth it... It's like killing your actual potential.
In your own mind you think that you achieved everything in life you desired by hyper-focusing on your professional life but that's actually not the case, when you really realise it....

    a) take care of your health and fitness. Nothing in the world can compensate if you lose it
    b) make money sufficient to take care of your basic expenses till 45 and post that do whatever you enjoy with an objective to make passive income
    c) never do something to show someone else that you are happy or above them
    d) your happiness should never be relative to others. Don't compare lives

Scoring 90% in CAT was not easy while doing job but not that tough also(While giving time to family, friends and learning about investment, saving money, Swimming, Playing Fortnite Valo for hours daily and doing well in job also) *Will focus on carrier and MBA but only 80%*

This is what I have always felt in my life. I've always felt differently from the people around me. Everyone around me is hell bent on "making it big" in jobs. I see jobs as a soul-sucking arrangement in which you think you are/ you will be getting a lot (money) but actually it's a moving target and in the process you lose so much. Think about it - you work in a system like a tenant. You get a monthly salary as long as you work. The moment you stop working, your income stops. So, you cannot stop even if your health suffers because you cannot afford to stop. And all of this takes a huge chunk out of your day ( at least 10 hours if your commute to work is not too long). It's a crazy way, to be honest. But people are running and spending 30-40 years of their life. And they will keep doing so.

The problem is there is a huge disconnect between Economy and returns from a Job, the system is designed to push people in the rut, any career break is considered a "crime", in reality there is no job security in today's private jobs and almost every one changes job every few years, even relocating to multiple cities, in a few years these guys realise that their career is stagnated and there is no growth and they're a slave to the system.
They lose social capital, financial capital, health, fail to invest in the right areas of life

This is same point he is making. Even if you give more than 100 percent, there are 1 lakh equally capable people for your job profile who will easily take this role and you will put more effort. So your job will be dependent on your boss hands. So relax and put 70/ 80 percent and focus on income generation through other means than only dependent on this as Jobs are easily replaceable

Lovely video. I needed validation for my such ideology but always felt less worthy among my friends and society. You presented it in a very sorted manner. Thank you so much!
