Marvin Bracy, a high school junior, runs the 2nd fastest time ever by a high schooler winning the USA Junior National Champion. Sorry for the video quality i was celebrating. Lol.
Id like to thank all if you for the great comments on this. Both positive and negative. Always gives us something to work on. Were continuously working to get better. Be on the lookout this year for big things from marvin. We've been putting in a lot of work so if its in God's plan this year will be memorable. Appreciate you all.
@TheAngeltoDemon Also, where did you learn your T&F history? Jamaica came onto the T&F scene in 1948 with Dr Arthur Wint (yes, a real doctor) in London in the 400m. 2nd place to him? Another Jamaican Herb McKinley. 4 years later in the '52 Olympics Helsinki the same Herb McKinley came 2nd again in the 400 to another Jamaican named George Rhoden. They defeated USA in the 4 by 4 that year. Dr Lennox Miller won silver and bronze in '68 and '72. He is the father Inger Miller who ran for USA.
@TheAngeltoDemon I don't have all the answers, but one of the main reasons Jamaica has done better is they are keeping their best athletes at home rather than ship them off to US colleges where they normally get run into the ground and become a shadow of themselves. Other reasons could be that so many US athletes were in on the Balco thing & the playing field became level. Remember though, that Juliet & Merlene were barely beaten by Gail in 92 & 96. They needed photofinishes for those races.
@TheAngeltoDemon Now that jeff demps is focusing on track. How fast can you see him getting in 100m? He has a 10.01 100m in high school before he had to bulk up to play football which seemed to have slowed him down a bit. Can you see him running with the big boys? so to speak. And same question for marvin if he was to ever stick to track.
@Skates2much Isn't plyo's for stride length. Marvins bracy's frequency is insane though. Even though i'm 6' i feel like my stride is short, how do I increase my stride without heavy weight training.
@TheAngeltoDemon Finally, plenty Jamaican born ran for you USA, such as Sandra Farmer Patrick, Jerome Young, Debbie Dunn & Sanya Richards. She only got USA citizenship about 4 or 5 years ago. A Trinidadian (Caribbean guy so I include him) that runs for USA: Kerron Clement. Then there are the children of Jamaican & other Caribbean parents such as Inger Miller etc. Then you have a few baseball players (world series winners in fact) and also Patrick Ewing etc. Jamaicans are all over the place.
@TheAngeltoDemon I don't have the time to go dig up the lists of the top athletes from Jamaica that went to the USA and got burnt out, nor do I have time to dig up the lists on the ones that succumbed to their own laziness and lack of ambition. What you say about soccer speed is neither here nor there because there are many soccer players who were also track stars in high school but chose soccer instead. Ricardo Gardner and Luton Shelton who both played in the English leagues come to mind.
@TheAngeltoDemon The 70s Olys Donald Quarrie got silver in 100 & gold in the 200 and won other medals in the early 80s. '83 400m World champ Bert Cameron. The '80s Jamaican women joined the party. World Champ Merlene Ottey with so many medals, Grace Jackson in the 200 & Oly champion Deon Hemmings(400mH) in the 90s, Juliet Cuthbert (100/200) in 92, Veronica Campbell(100/200) from '00 to now. Speaking of lax drug controls... how Carl Lewis was allowed to compete after testing positive stunk.
If I was running as fast as he was, I wouldn't be going to FSU for football or better yet, be playing at all. He has a guaranteed Track Career. But in the end, you can't stop him from what he wants to do.
@Skates2much Lol i haven't come to a conclusion yet. Plyometrics is probably the way to go but it probably wouldn't have any effect aside from high intensity one's which I am not sure my body is suppose to do since i'm going into 11th grade. Plus plyos might not work since I have a natural explosiveness that had me at a 40 something inch vertical in 8th grade. So i want to get faster fast twitch AND increase my stride and get to 10.2-10.3 this year.
How can his 40 yard time be so slow and he ran a 6.08 for 55 meters, he isn't at tall either so his start should be the best part or at least a good part of his speed. To slickrick32701 do you have him squat a lot, or what is your main lifting regimen.
He's fast, super fast. But the real question is how well can he play football? track is all vertical speed. football requires a lot of lateral speed, De'anthony Thomas is great at both but we'll see how this kid competes. I think he will be great though!
@@rastaastablasta1383 because he played football too.. and was going into college. You realize this video is super old right? I made that comment 9 years ago.
Florida State got them a playmaker with this man. But if he should choose Track over Football I dont blame him. He's the Kevin Durant of Track as far as I'm concerned lol. Get'em Bracey!
@TheAngeltoDemon Luckily for Jamaica, Bolt was pretty mediocre at cricket and his parents told him to focus on track. So many of those stories in Jamaica. Americans aren't the only ones who are good at more than one sport. There is one guy named Wavell Hinds that captained both high school soccer and cricket team but ended up playing cricket for Jamaica and the West Indies. He gave up soccer.
Yes Jeter is innocent until proven guilty, but I still suspect her to be guilty. Her voice, her build, her progression. If she is not on steroids, she might be a heshe like Semenya.
nice try, watch marvin bracy next year on FSU, he will be a monster on the KRs and PRs. He would smoke DAT any day. Also, DAT got smoked by George Farmer (USC WR) while in high school(10.40 to 10.57).
No it was not, Marvin bracy has only managed to run 10.25 officially the rest who his times below that all had to much wind assisting him so it did not count
@TheAngeltoDemon Talent was always there. They were getting scholarships to the USA, going there and getting destroyed. Bolt and Asafa stayed in Jamaica out of US college coaches hands. USA is not the only one losing talent to other sports. Jamaica loses it to soccer, cricket (what Bolt was playing at the same time) and crime. Population 2.7million. Murders 15,00 people a year. Not pretty. I could just have easily asked: where was Jeter pre age 28?
@TheAngeltoDemon The Jamaicans would still win. Migration caused Jamaicans to lose in the past! So many Jamaicans and their children have run for the USA, Canada and Great Britain.
@TheAngeltoDemon Jeter is innocent until proven guilty like everyone else. Nikole Mitchell who used to whip Marion Jones in college was but one Jamaican athelete destroyed. There are a few more. You say the talent drain in Jamaica isn't equivalent? I say it is. You don't know how popular soccer is in Jamaica. It is the most loved sport in the country. And for the Jamaican women runners, they lose talent netball. Jamaican cricket loses their tall fast bowlers who could sprint to basketball.
Holy crap.
That kid's fast, lol.
Will be looking for his name now, thanks for posting this!
Yo im from Orlando and grew up with his mom and Pops(ripbigmarvi) his mom was a beast when we were young dude is official met him real humble
They killed my cuz daddy
he looks so relaxed
Football and track star what an athlete
10.05 is blaaaaaazing man!!!!

His fast twitch muscle is very good
In a championship meet, there are usually several rounds and heats and the fastest times in the previous heat gets the middle lanes.
that ham is killin em
You brought me to this from the Gemili vid lol
the funniest type of top comments are ones u cant find the ones they corespond to

Can't wait to see this kid return punts at FSU
i've run against keenan brock and aaron ernest.... im just glad they are reppin bama good

Hopefully a future Nole!

@FlaminBanshee he can do both at florida state if he chooses too.
@HeadRushBand2010 I know the wind was over limit 2.6 or something
@TheAngeltoDemon Finally, plenty Jamaican born ran for you USA, such as Sandra Farmer Patrick, Jerome Young, Debbie Dunn & Sanya Richards. She only got USA citizenship about 4 or 5 years ago. so fast he ran into a injury damn

The wind has to be at a certain speed for it to be an illegal time. The wind was probably low enough for it to be accepted as a legal time.
was there a tailwind?
What workouts do you do to get fast twitch movement like that his stride frequency is insane.
did you find out what works?
Plyometrics hard work good coach patience
@TheAngeltoDemon A gift? For sure...but does the Olympics pay multi-million dollar contracts? Not a chance...
u been beat by the best
@Skates2much The theory that Somax has begs to differ. If plyos stiffen the muscle wouldn't flexibility deminish.

officially a Nole

How much does Bracy squat

@Skates2much It was 10.6 but i think it would have been lower if i didn't get injured.

Where the fuck did football come from. Stop trying to bring him down with hypothetical shit. So random
@@rastaastablasta1383 because he played football too.. and was going into college. You realize this video is super old right? I made that comment 9 years ago.
every time i time it I get him running a 9.65 hahahah
Florida State got them a playmaker with this man. But if he should choose Track over Football I dont blame him. He's the Kevin Durant of Track as far as I'm concerned lol. Get'em Bracey!
Exactly he could get hurt and it's time he could be focusing on track, but if he likes football I guess he should play
"Kiryu" is "monster" in japanese if im not mistaken
CHRS MRVL it’s more like mechanical dragon I think
It's because the fastest sprinters are usual assigned the middle lanes..
Ya'll are stupid. . .he ran the whole race at what looks like full speed and in full stride. (#1JeffDempsFan)
Damn, he murdered the SEC champ Brock, where will he be going?
The guy in the middle tends to win because the lanes correspond with time. Lane 4 fastest then 5, 3, 6, 2, 7,1,8
Why does the guy in the middle lane always wins the race?
@UchihaElijah true he would ran a 9.90
@TheTripleJThreat i got to run with him in the summer and he just like didn't care at all haha.
Nole

too bad hes sticking to football. R.I.P. Marvin BracyUSA Track
but t d'anthony focuses on football...if he focused on track hit might be different
What if Bracy was Jamaican?
Yes Jeter is innocent until proven guilty, but I still suspect her to be guilty. Her voice, her build, her progression. If she is not on steroids, she might be a heshe like Semenya.
Jeff Demps ran 10.01 not 10.02
I guess Jeff demps would of run a 9.88 if he never played footall.
if he didnt hurt his hamstring last 20 meters i guarantee he would ran sub 10 secs
No that kid runs 10.32 bracy runs 10.05!
The Japanese are now generating kids running 10.01 100m races....check out 17 year old Yoshihide Kiryu run fastest ever 100m for a 17 year old

Marvin you run faster with college people.
hey, there was a white guy!! :D
@TheAngeltoDemon The Jamaicans would still win. Migration caused Jamaicans to lose in the past! So many Jamaicans and their children have run for the USA, Canada and Great Britain.

Track is boring as shit. Football is fun.
