The lack of foresight with Caitlin Clark has been mind boggling. The 2023 NCAA championship game sets a ratings record and Team USA decides to hold their training camps during the college season in November 2023 and during the 2024 Final Four, both of which Clark had to miss due to pursuing a championship with Iowa.

Soooo change the entire schedule for one (potential) player? These decisions usually have buy-in / commitments months in advance.

The only thing I would say is I honestly do or believe the league coaches/players would live up to the hype. She is beginning to do so, which is certainly contributing to the pressure to add her to the team. I hope it wasn’t simply petty pride, but using facts/data to put the best players and prospects on team USA. Anyway, it would seem like it would be a good thing to do for team USA, and would give them a better chance to win gold. It would appear that a good portion of US basketball fans would support the decision based on the level of play. If you don’t want to add her, then it may be a good thing to explain why using facts and data to explain the decision in a way US basketball fans would understand. I don’t think that’s too much to ask from leadership. Thoughts?

They need to replace the injured players wit someone. It’s so dumb if they injured players stay on the team just so they can brag about making the team just to sit in the bench.
If they are making the decision based on potential contribution, not really. There are a lot of fantastic veterans with more consistent or better stats this season.
Agree with Colin that USA Olympic selection is political and Clark will bring the eyes, but acting like she’s the only choice is crazy (and the attitude that’s getting under all these players’ and former players’ skin).
@@analogee6858 Clark is definitely not the only choice, but if DT needs to be replaced, it's like for like. Chelsea Gray is in there and will need a backup. Arike is not a point guard, she shoots more than any back court player in the W (26x) You need a creator, Skylar would be another to consider, but Clarks output for the amount of attention she receives makes this a simple decision. If BG is out, Aliyah would be the perfect replacement. This also give a pointer to the future.

The WNBA should require workshops for players and coaches to enhance their ability to handle PR-related tasks, such as interviews and speeches. Implementing these workshops could significantly increase the overall value of the WNBA.

Had a higher rating for the season, but as Colin pointed out, in the second half Love was right at the top, and out playing Stroud. He figured out how to play. This year, the Packers young offense is much better, as well. More weapons, more experience.
Aaron Rodgers should not be on the list he's been a bus the last several years. Jordan love does belong on that list

Colin is dead wrong about one thing. The WNBA didn't know a year earlier if Caitlin was going to come out or not. The Iowa Hawkeyes were pushing very hard for her to come back another year, and either way she would have made a ton of money from endorsements. The WNBA couldn't make concrete plans for something that they didn't even know for sure would happen.
Clark is doing what she was supposed to do. She was the number 1 draft pick.

The fact that Stroud is on here but Love isnt is nuts. Love had ALL rookie or second year pass catchers except at RB.
Stroud had to carry an entire team. His offensive line had four major starters out for serious time last year. Give Stroud time and he’ll pick any defense apart. Plus, he did it as a rookie.

I guess it's because of the age of the viewers and no one remembers but this situation is more like Chris Evert and Martina Navratilova. There was a professional rivalry, but Martina and Billie Jean saw the advantage of Chris in the WTA. The players need to get passed the spotlight being on Caitlin. She is helping the entire league.

Caitlin Clark's 17 points 6 assist 3 rebounds from last night in NBA comparison would be = 24points 8 assist 4 rebounds in terms of an NBA game. The NBA averages 115.5 points per game.... the WNBA Averages 82.6 points per game.... to get the proper comparison you have to times WNBA numbers by 1.39 and Divide NBA Numbers by .71 so that you can get a real comparison of Dominance and Output in relationship to a Mens NBA game. The value system is different in both sports and you can appreciate more what is going on when you do a true in depth comparison!!!!!

I don’t know if I agree with the 10-12 minutes comment. There are so many spectacular shows that while the writing is good from the start you have NO clue how good it gets until some real plot progression occurs.
