  • Colin Cowherd explains why Mike Tomlin deserves some criticism for the Pittsburgh Steelers' ambiguous QB situation with Russell Wilson and Justin Fields. Meanwhile, it is still unclear if Aaron Rodgers will ultimately suit up during preseason. Colin evaluates the New York Jets' situation, then discusses whether Rodgers can truly save the team or not.

Hard to get a replacement when you are drafting 18 or lower in the draft every year. Franchise QBs are at the top of the draft. You get lucky if you find a 2nd rounder or 3rd rounder that develops into a star. It is extremely rare. That's the QBs that the Steelers have drafted. Why? Because they are an above average team most seasons. They went and got Pickett but he was a mistake. But the NFL draft history is littered with mistakes. The Steelers may need to tank this season so that they can take a shot at one of the kids coming out of college and dare I say it, replace the coach.

Tomlin never invested in an offensive line. Noll and Cower knew Steelers football. Good defense, good running game. The O line is the foundation. For years and years we could run and defend the run. Now we can’t move the LOS an inch if we have to. That is not Steelers football. And it’s on Tomlin.
