  • Examine the history of slavery in America by looking at the complex, and often hypocritical views of slavery by the #FoundingFathers and slavery’s relationship with America’s founding documents. Jeffrey Rosen, president and CEO of the National Constitution Center, explains how the #Constitution and its amendments and the Declaration of Independence have been used as tools for abolition and civil rights throughout American history.

    What about women?

We can also agree that some of the reasons why slavery was favored to be abolished in the United States at that given time. Those in the north wanted to go away. Because they were jealous of those in the south, who were getting “free labor“. Those in the southdidn’t want to give it up for the exact same reason. They were getting “free labor”

Where would they go once freed?

🙏🙏🙏🌎 Amen. Thank God I will never look back at my past. I will always move forward. I am greatful to be working and I am greatful for the cross. Thank God for my soon to be marriage. I will never be slave to sin. I will always respect the media.

Just remember that certain things done at certain times may have been OK. Just like things we do today we could fast-forward 100+ years and they could look at our doing as being just as bad as slavery. Make sure you tell all of the history. Including how Every country had slaves. How even to this day tribes in Africa enslave other tribes in Africa.

3/5 clause / a political tool for a tax law from the 1700?

  • @pontiacwolf

And it is funny that we allow things to be OK if it supports our view or our opinion. For example. Martin Luther King Jr. actually cheated on his wife. If he was any other person. We all would have learned this in school. So remember that. This is a good example of making sure you do any and all research of what you learn about

"Roger Sherman is responsible for imposing the political interpretation of the 3/5 clause" which meant in his opinion including those whom he represents wanted slavery too continue as a means of supporting their own agenda?

The bible allowed slavery because the people at the time did not consider it to be immoral.
