  • Andrei Biziorek is an acting teacher, coach, and director who has dedicated over two decades to the craft of acting, movement, and directing in various countries, including the UK, Poland, Europe, and Australia. Initially trained as a director and later as an actor, Andrei has imparted his knowledge and skills at numerous prestigious and independent drama schools. His teaching repertoire includes the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, RADA, East 15, Guildford School of Acting, Drama Studio London, and Fourth Monkey Actor Training Company.
For many years, Andrei’s work has concentrated on Polish and Russian acting traditions, processes, and pedagogy. His tenure in Poland saw him engaging with the post-Grotowski lineage of theatre. He collaborated with renowned companies such as Gardzienice and Song of the Goat Theatre, and toured internationally as an actor with Theatre ZAR, a resident company at the Grotowski Institute in Wroclaw. During this time, he also trained with Zygmunt Molik, a principal actor from Jerzy Grotowski's Laboratory Theatre.
In recent years, Andrei’s focus has shifted towards the exploration, teaching, and directing of the Demidov Organic Acting Technique, introduced to him by Professor Malaev-Babel. This Russian acting methodology, pioneered by the lesser-known Nikolai Demidov, emphasizes the actor's creative process and organic spontaneity, which Andrei passionately believes are essential for true artistic freedom and effective technique.
Andrei’s journey with the Demidov Technique has been intensive, involving extensive work under Professor Malaev-Babel’s guidance in London, Moscow, and Florida over the past seven years. This deep immersion led him to establish Demidov Studio London, the UK branch of the International Demidov Association, with the support of Professor Malaev-Babel as curator.
Beyond his work in the UK, Andrei has held significant roles internationally. In Australia, he was the artistic director of Vis a Vis Theatre in Sydney. In London, he directed Waving Not Drowning Theatre and the Wrestling the Angel polyphonic singing group. Currently, he is the director of the Tribe Theatre Collective, whose inaugural production, Dostoyevsky's "Crime and Punishment," was entirely developed using the Demidov Technique and performed at The Cockpit Theatre in 2019.
Andrei’s commitment to the Demidov Technique extends to his role as Director of the DSL LAB, a research space at Demidov Studio London. Here, he conducts classes and works with select actors dedicated to delving deeper into this innovative acting methodology. His profound impact on the acting community is marked by his dedication to nurturing the actor’s creativity and freedom through the nuanced Demidov approach.
