- Perhaps one of the most in-depth conversations with Ihsahn about his songwriting talent and black metal. Throughout the chat, Ihsahn discusses his musical connection with Devin Townsend and why he still refers to his solo material as black metal; he dives deep into why black metal is all about innovation and discusses Emperor's involvement in the criminal aspect of gen two black metal early years.
This conversation was recorded on February 27, 2018, and the compelling event is the release of the album Ámr. This is the first time the chat has been broadcast on CZcams, having been available on the Scars and Guitars podcast apps. - Hudba
Thank you for that exquisite and educational interview! He is a very Honest artist!
In the Nightside Eclipse and Cruelty and the Beast were the albums that made me fall in love with the whole genre and the potential it has to envelop it’s listener inside the little worlds it creates. Great episode! I’ll have to go through more episodes on Apple Podcasts at some point too.
Thx mate, yes I have a lot of legacy episodes that are buried on Spotify and Apple Podcasts. I'll eventually repost my chats with Satyr, Frost, Demonaz, Nergal, Silenoz, Lars from Borknagar, Lord Ahriman, Mortiis and anyone else I can think of. CZcams is the place to be these days.
Check out the Filth interviews - top notch conversations
Cruelty and the Beast is so underated! thanks for saying it like it is!
@@thatguyinaband6341 it is! Those albums mean so much to me still 🤘🏼🤘🏼
@@ScarsandGuitarspodcast Oh I’d love to hear from Satyr and Frost! Massive Satyricon fan as well. Such a great podcast you have here. CZcams is definitely good for this medium as well. I almost prefer it to be honest as I find myself enjoying the platform more as well as seeing the video interviews. Good all around man! 🤘🏼
man I really resonate with what Ihsahn is saying, I recently found a Cuban artist called Gran Hechicero that has a really similar way of being an artist, very great food for thought as a musician I really appreciate the freedom it encourages
So glad I found this podcast…just subscribed.
Thx mate!!!
what a rational balanced intelligent nice natured man' so responsive polite and honest Great interview
