"isn't that fascinating?.. it is". Lol. I found you by accident and I am so glad I did. You, sir, are a great teacher. I enjoy your sense of humor, I look forward to learning from you and actually retain information, unlike Uni which is such a stale environment. Thank you for taking the time to do what you do.

When I used to see comments like "I have a hema exam in a few days and your videos are saving my life" I used to think they were far fetched. But this is me now. I have a hema exam on Tuesday and your videos are saving my life!!
Edit: I had a 92 on the exam. Thank you!!

I watch these videos out of my pure interest for blood disorders. I’ve always been somewhat fascinated with blood disorders such as Sickle Cell, and always wished I could do something to help those experiencing them. I was also recently diagnosed with Beta Thalassemia - the irony.

Thank you so much for this playlist. I just have one comment in this video, I believe there's a difference between point mutation and single nucleotide polymorphism and in sickle cell disease it's a point mutation and not a SNP. please correct me if I'm wrong

Thank you for your videos. One correction, however. When black people were *taken* to America, there was a lot of malaria in the US south as well as in the Caribbean. The prevalence of malaria was part of the justification for the spread of slavery in these areas using black labor.

Is the HBB gene becomes recessive after mutation? Is the normal HBB gene a dominant gene....so in carriers only sickle cell trait is present but not the disease?is it like that or other way around?did I understand correctly... kindly explain.
