Todays Video : Laser Engraving & Handrouting a Marble Game on to Live Edge !
Today I’m going over my Live Edge Preparation, the Game Designing , the Laser Engraving with LASERGRBL , Hand Routing and finally Clear Coating . The name of this game Is Snakes & Ladders Trouble .😃

I scratched Pennies together to get my first Engraver . The ORTUR LM 2 Pro ..and as my business has grown, I save a little bit at a time to be able to buy upgrades like the OLM3.
In todays video I am using the 10A Laser. (2 x 5.5 watt diode lasers together) If you are using a 5.5 watt diode, I suggest same power settings but go about half or a little more than half the speed I am using .😃

Pro Tip: Now to find my Engraving settings I wanted, I used my greyscale logo and engraved it on the back of the board first ! 😃Live Edge can be costly! So proper storing to allow air flow between the boards and using same size slats , will help keep them straight and they won’t mold. You’ll see my Edges of the boards are sealed with just a white latex paint. This keeps them from splitting as they dry.

It’s the exact same rules as the “trouble” game except with the arrows you may have to go forwards or backwards. 😃

If you don't mind me asking, how much does it cost to commission something like this to you?

I don’t mind you asking at all. 😃 I personally charge $20 an hour for my laser time . That seems to be the going rate in my area. Now this particular piece was hand routed and then several coats of hand brushed exterior clear coat as well. Price can vary depending on the type of live edge. I charged $100 Canadian for this particular piece. The toughest part was trying to find the marbles 😆
