High DRAMA in the High Dessert! | RVing in Colorado

- This week we continue our Christmas trip RVing in Colorado to Pueblo, and the KOA campground there.
While we were there, there was some pretty intense drama at the campground on what was supposed to be our last day there. But due to our dog Nikki, waking up that morning not feeling well we decided to postpone moving on and staying another day there. And doing so we were witnessed to some pretty intense drama at the campground involving a camper, shooting the manager and critically injuring him. We did not actually see the shooting. We just saw all the aftermath. Quite a scary feeling when you walk outside your RV and there’s police yelling get back in your RVs. But the suspect we learned surrendered without much of a fight, thankfully.
That other parts of the trip were great. We went to Royal Gorge bridge in Cañon city. we also went to Garden of the gods in Colorado Springs and pikes Peak in Manitou Springs.
We meet up with some friends in Manitou Springs that used to live near us here in Florida and if since moved to Denver.
We absolutely fell in love with Colorado such beautiful country.

Royal Gorge is not for those with fear of heights or falling!
I havent been there since I was a teen. Never made it across the entire bridge because I could see between the slats! I even have a picture I took of the river between slats.
When we were there, we rode the incline railway. That was interesting.

@@AlliChuckAdventures when you come across I-70 I was going west, the sun flowers start to hurt your eyes. I'm guessing you the western stuff, Amarillo to Roswell over to Las Cruse NM has alot of stuff, Billy the kid being one of them, but Arizona has tons to see, when you go out west next time, you'll have alot to go see. The Ozarks has some really great places to also. Ttul

At 26:23 That’s the suspect who was arrested and charged, Harrington. Also that same campground had a murder there in 2020, I believe from a news search. KOA.

The views were incredible out there! I keep thinking that you should write an original travel song to play during your videos. I guess the drama at the campground is why they call it the wild wild west. Glad the rest of the trip went well.

That’s awesome! Definitely take the cog train so Alli can go. And I think skyline Drive isn’t too bad. I mean you’re driving pretty slow on it and it’s all paved. Alli will disagree with me lol

The US is so dangerous. We’ve arrived in Panama five months after leaving Laredo and haven’t seen anyone shot in a campground. I doubt we will when our van arrives in Colombia next week. Stay safe.

Haha right I’m sure! I grew up in Indiana and I remember the blizzard of 76 where we got trapped in school and had to spend the night. Busses got snowed in it was great!
Instead of the Manitou Spgs "Pueblo", I'd recommend the real one in Mesa Verde NP.
