  • A short video of a PCGS Grading Submission Unboxing of 54 United States Proof and Type Coins. We submitted 54 United States coins in a grading submission to PCGS recently including some proof coins, some type coins and some key dates too. We submitted these coins to PCGS as a drop off submission at their headquarters in Southern California. A few months later we picked them up and now we have them here for you where we do the unboxing and show off the grades and the coins, including some amazing PCGS TrueView photos taken by PCGS while the coins were outside of the slabs. Hope you enjoy the video and let us know your comments. We have several more PCGS grading submissions in right now so look for more unboxing videos coming soon! Thanks!

      For cleaned coins, take 3 pounds of dog shti and mix it with a dozen eggs for 5 minutes. dig a hole that will hold four coins without touching and pour half of the mixture in the hold, put the coins on top, and pour the other half over the coins. then put some dirt on top. Make sure to pee on it every 5 days for a year. They will come out looking nice!

    That 1853 3SC is secondary toning, thats what happens after a coin has been lightly cleaned, then thrown into an album to get toned.
    This is very easy to spot and they are spot on with the details grade.
    P.S if this was a waaaay older coin with this toning, it would have Stright graded, because they give those late 1700s to very early 1800s all the leeway in the world🤯😤

    Two years ago I sent some coins to PCGS. One was an 1836 half dollar. I didn’t know there are tow types, reeded and lettered. But PCGS “ replaced” it for a coin that I didn’t even owned. I filled a claim and settled for $250 Now I suspect my coin was with a reeded edge. I never checked the edge because I didn’t know about the two types on the edge. I tend to believe it was the grader who switched my coin.

  • @Rex-pn6eu
    @Rex-pn6eu Před měsícem +1

    I anticipate in the very near future that AI will take over grading coins ect.. there is just too much money involved for it not to happen. MS-66 to a 67 or 68 can be huge. And honestly I have seen too many reveals that a graders arbitrary opinion costs thousands. What do you think

    • @Kittlecoins
      @Kittlecoins  Před měsícem

      May just be a matter of time, but remember that coin grading is NOT an exact science. Sure you look at amount of wear, how many marks/hits... stuff like that could be somewhat easily determined by AI. Probably even teach difference between strike weakness and actual wear with more effort. But a major part of grading very high grade mint state coins is eye appeal. One of the major reasons that those coins don't get the same grades upon regrading. Probably could teach AI eye appeal to some degree, but would just be based on what the programmer believes to be nice or negative eye appeal. Another AI programmed by another might have different results. Probably won't be long before someone gets that ball rolling though!

    • @Kittlecoins

    Why do you want a lower grade sometimes? Thanks.

    • @Kittlecoins
      @Kittlecoins  Před rokem +1

      Some collectors try to build sets of certain grades so they have matching coins. At the very bottom of the grading scale there is competition by collectors who collect the very lowest grades. It seems odd to most collectors of course, but it's actually very hard to get very low grades without the coin have other problems that keep the coin from getting a straight grade. Accordingly, at the very low end of the grading scale, some coins can be worth significantly more in a lower grade, especially the Poor-1 grade. Thanks for watching!

    This is something that is definitely not fixable, and you should leave it in that holder.
    Its not worth a regade of course, but its a true bummer to get a coin back thats details that shouldn't be
    Its clearly on the reverse, but it should have NEVER been brought up. What a joke on the 1913D Buffalo 😂🤦🏼‍♂️. Dock a grade or two or two, but don't give a details grade on a great looking, original coin🤦🏼‍♂️💯.

    This was an object lesson on how to waste your money on submission fees! Wonder when dealers will go back to selling coins and not plastic with a coin inside and someone else's OPINION that more than half the time is different from the owner! Would have been very helpful if you revealed what that pile of plastic cost you! Until TECHNOLOGY catches up to reality and you can put a coin on a scanner and that computer (which ANYONE can buy, even at some outrageous price) will have EVERY SERIES of U.S. coins and most grades from 2 to 70 (acknowledging that some coins do not have any coins in that upper echelon). Collecting was so much easier and more enjoyable when 2 parties would argue over a grade, but more realisticly argued over price instead, which is also an opinion ultimately reached by the buyer and seller.
