To anyone wondering I've had my blink mini outside on my shed through storms and winters and it has gotten wet and it works just fine. It's been about 2 years outside in the elements and only just now starting to have a little bit of problems but considering I just screwed it to the outside temperature that it did pretty well I'm sure if you got a little rain deflector for the top It would be fine

How is your camera working? Can you record CONTINUOUSLY UNTIL YOU YOURSELF STOP THE RECORDING, or does it ONLY RECORD WHEN THERE’S MOTION @CHASZYTV?

yes you can view live video footage at any time through the app as long as the camera is connected to wifi

i would go with their outside cameras since they're weather proof as long as you have wifi it should work

I just bought 2 I’m try them outside pretty much where rain doesn’t hit let’s see how that goes.
Hmm not sure if that's a good idea. Moisture could get inside the plastic and damage them. They have outdoor versions.
Would you suggest the wireless or wired blink indoor camera? Is there much difference between the 2. I’m planning on using it to my garden but from inside the window
the outdoor 4 is a tad better quality (day and night) because its newer but not sure if it would be that much better through a window since i haven't tried it that way. I'm actually trying several 2k indoor cameras for windows trying to figure out which one is best and i like the pan and tilt ones better so far.
Could you make a video on how to change the Wi-Fi I moved to a new home and I have a new signal you just gave me a little hope I've only had my security camera system for a year I don't have to delete it after all and return it and get my money back
i haven't had to do that with mine but you may have to do a factory reset and then reconnect the camera to your new wifi
Does blink sync module2 and the blink mini camera have to be in same place(room)? Or i can install sync module2 in my office(work) and blink camera at home?

technically you can set up any indoor camera to do that, but there are some that have mounts made for windows i just haven't tried them
How does the storage works for this camera? Does upload the videos to a private cloud server.
you can choose the cloud which you pay for or on usb flash drive locally on their add-on Sync Module 2

Yes, you can use the wifi where you are going or just use your cellular connection to view your cameras at home using the blink app.

well it records clips automatically but yes you can record manually while in the app as well

Hi, can you turn it on and off from your mobile phone? And will it keep the saved data (name, wifi etc) after an outage? I'm thinking to use it in a no handle place and would be difficult to set everything again. The idea is to use it only a couple of times per month to check if a water pump is ok, not need it running 24/7.
yes you can snooze each camera and make it so you don't get notifications and turn off the recording, its still powered up though, i don't think there's a power off

Would this be ok to use in a garage? How temperature tolerant is this camera?
Probably depends if your garage is insulated but from my experience any electronics or batteries left in an unheated garage usually have issues later on. I was thinking of putting an exterior camera in my garage because of that.
Great review. I need a camera for daytime when I'm out that can start recording when motion is detected but I don't want a monthly subscription. Will this camera serve my need? Thanks
if you get the sync module it takes a usb drive which can save footage if you don't want to use the subscription which is how mine is setup

And without a subscription I don't get an alarm when they are coming and don't see them online, correct?
@@at-oh4ws you would get an alert as soon as the camera sees motion, you have the option to do subscription which may help but i would suggest using more than one camera so you can have one pointing outside so you get an alert when anyone arrives.

once you plug in a usb stick into the sync module, you format it through the app and then you can choose to save clips there instead of through their subscription service

@@simplexes6813Some cameras record on a continuous basis and don’t stop recording until you make it stop. Other cameras ONLY record when there’s motion period.

if you mean in the app, there's an option of local or cloud storage right above the home button once you tap on clips
@@fishbeeamazon for some reason the mini won’t record and store videos without a subscription all the other devices record to local storage on my thumb drive … 😔

The base doesn't have a magnet in it - its metal that will stick to a magnet. All features require a subscription or hub. Can't view live or recorded video in Alexa app without a subscription. 1080p is ok, you might even say its pretty good up close but beyond 10 feet quality drops quick. 2-way audio is very poor, not suitable for communication, even with a pet. Android app has known bugs. Night vision is easily blinded just by reaching over and flipping a light switch on as you enter the room and the night vision doesn't turn off to the sudden change in lighting. No TV app. No Windows PC app. I haven't recorded anything yet, hub or subscription, so I have yet to know what issues await with that functionality. That being said, the subscription fee is not excessive and if you are ok with these aspects of the device then the Blink minis may live up to your expectations. Still, you may want to consider these Blink devices to be curiosity-cams, not security-cams.

Love mine during the day but night vision sucks as it just reflects back at the window and you can’t see outside
you have to turn off the night vision and recording indicator light and use outside lighting
My experience with local storage is it will not load ANY video. Or when it does work it takes far to long to load
mine still seems to work ok, it does take a couple seconds to load but i think they do that on purpose to get you to upgrade

you can go back to previous clips quite a ways or watch live view

When I try connect to the internet it connects to blink then when I go back on to the app it just says looking for device it doesn’t work
if you have 2 different wifi connections i would switch to the other one. Our 5 ghz wifi works better than the 2.4 ghz

I want to buy it for grandparents home in South America. Do I need a subscription to use the basic feature which is to see inside the home in the app? I just want to be able to see.. don't need to be able to talk record etc. Does this work subs free ? Thanks!
@@cherrylady131 Yes it should work. No subscription needed. I just use a micro sd card so it records the clips to that.
