    Perrin forging his hammer is my favorite scene from the whole book series because I attached to him as my character through the books. I am glad it was a highlight for you as well!

    It’s a really good one and some of the best action scenes.

    Some of my favourite WOT moments in this one- I won't say due to spoiler risk!

    Another wonderful video about your time and journey through one of my beloved book series. As always I love to see your perspective and the things you latch onto as a reader. Its almost like being able to journey through the books again myself for the first time

      Thank you! For the last book I'll be doing a reading vlog. Have to get a few other books out of the way first, and then.... (drumroll)

    Glad your 2nd copy is complete! Good to see you. I am reading several good mysteries and have taken a detour into the Women's Prize longlist. I'm enjoying sharing your fantasy journey! Thank you for the review!!

      Mysteries is your 'homeground' when it comes to reading, right? I had to look Women's Prize Longlist up, but none of the entries ring any bells... Have fun!

      My WP try is 8 Lives of a Century Old Trickster by Lee. It's filled with the torture and humiliation of a Korean woman during WWII and the Korean War. Not a pleasant read!! It'll do me for some time in the literary fiction genre - lol. Mysteries have been my comfort reads for many decades 🙂. Have you read any more Discworld, Hobb or McCaffery?

      @@bjminton2698 Sounds like a chore, but could be rewarding as well... Discworld (have to start nr 2, The Light Fantastic), Hobb (taking a break), McCaffrey: Yes! I am now finishing the 6th book in her Dragonriders of Pern (The White Dragon) and plan on doing a video on the first 2 trilogies.

      Wow! I stopped for a break after the first one of McCaffery. Look forward to your thoughts on 2-6!

    I felt nervous going into the last book. I planned to wait, but then.... oh I couldn't, and I had to read it! After I finished it I fell into a reading slump. So sad it was over!

      I also feel my anticipation growing. Still want to read a few other books before starting. I really want to give aMoL my complete and undivided attention.

    Once you are finished, be sure to search out Brandon Sanderson telling the story of how he was invited to complete the series.

      Is that a different story than what he writes in his foreword to The Gathering Storm?

    The final books in the series are pretty good. I know a lot of people disliked some characterization from Sanderson, but it made finishing the series possible. Jordan did something incredible with Wheel of Time, but it was a slog to get through them all. One more spanking scene and I may have thrown the book. Glad that I read the whole series, but will not be rereading

    • @DutchGreyBeard
      @DutchGreyBeard  Před 4 měsíci +1

      Yeah, my thoughts exactly regarding the slog. I am more than grateful that Sanderson took it upon himself to finish someone else's series. And he did an excellent job, as far as I can tell. Starting A Memory of Light very soon!!

    I actually think you should do a reread of eye of the world once you are done with MoL. I want you to truly notice the masterful foreshadowing in that book. The reread of wheel of time is almost an entirely different experience than the first read through and part of the reason this series is one of my favourites. I’ve reread the series 8 times and will reread it again.😅

    • @DutchGreyBeard
      @DutchGreyBeard  Před 4 měsíci +1

      8 times! Wow! I don't see myself doing that, probably not even one entire reread. I could (and just may) reread The Eye of the World. It's a good idea, even though I am not much of a rereader. There simply is too much to explore besides WoT.
