There's a bunch of Portal items in TF2 - but why? Let's have a look!
Portal and TF2 have more in common than just being released together in Valve's Orange Box - many promotional items have been added to TF2 directly from the Portal universe.

I know that practically, Wheatley screaming about how he is hacking the enemy buildings isn’t very good for trying to stay hidden. But hearing all of his voice lines and how he tries to have conversations with you is just so charming

It was only purchasable, and as a gift (genuine quality) for buying the Portal 2 OST for a limited time. It's why it's so stupidly expensive for a weapon

or a construction device reskin that reskins all the buildings to be portal themed. sentries are swapped out for portal turrets of different sizes and they have a few custom lines. the dispenser could probably be recolored white with an aperature symbol and possibly also have some voice lines. for the teleporters the entrance when ready would form a blue portal and the exit an orange portal. the teleporters base would be recolored white and dark grey and have small prods in the middle representing the portal gun.
I would buy that instantly, that would be so cool. And then if there is a ap-sap spy sapping my sentry, that would be ironic lol
I love the Wheatley sapper.

I wish you could still use TF2 hats in portal 2. The feature broke years ago, and has been defunct ever since.

@@papagynther6905 Yup. Even sadder, an update they made a couple of months ago removed the 'trading coming soon' sign from the bot inventory, so now we know for sure that isn't happening, either. Portal 2 is just kind of rotting now.

Kinda like the Holy Hand Grenades for soldier, a few lemons that replace his grenades and when someone is killed using the equaliser or escape plan taunt, it shows they were killed by a lemon.

Ok hear me out, soldier with a portal gun instead of a rocket launcher, and the long fall boots being a secondary for every class that makes you immune to fall damage
Not going to lie but you guys should really play this years memes vs. machines event. There's missions based on Eggman's Announcement, Plants vs. Zombies, and Heavy is Dead.
I almost forgot about memes vs machines. When does it end? My favorite mission last year was the one in at the farm with the colossal soldier robot

This was an unexpected surprise, I was expecting a video that showed the items one by one in a compilation, but instead I got a voice and the entire history
Potato medals modeler here.
I guess I could add that at some point the potato pc medal was going to have a "PotatOS" on its screen, alongside a GLaDOS like symbol next to it, or replacing the "O". However, since the screen was so tiny, we switched the design to a simple cute pixelated potato instead, as it was much easier to see.

Superflamegameplays GLaDOS is the robot antagonist, I think the description refers to the human protagonist.
Not impossible! Even though she's a robot, I would personally describe GLaDOS as a "lady" as her voice is female (and the story suggests the personality was extracted from Caroline), but it's a fair point and the item description doesn't make it clear to whom they're referring. Could be Caroline pre-GLaDOS, or a different lady entirely! I was a bit presumptuous, but the main point stands - the implication is they're the same universe

The poker night at the inventory games were some of the games that I Most Wanted from Steam aside from Minecraft story mode so I'm really upset that I can't get them anymore because those were some of the best games I have ever witnessed and some of the games I wish I could have afforded him back when they were available now it just makes me real sad when I see someone talking about him.
You do know you can still get both of the poker night games at g2a.com, and you can the items that they let you get through achievements

Ayeeee, it feels like forever since you've posted a tf2 video.
TBH, I don't really enjoy playing TF2 anymore! I have over 4000 hours spread over 11 years, 7 of which I have spent working on videos based on the game almost every single week (working on, not necessarily releasing). I'm sure you can appreciate that that amount of focus on a single game can lead to some burnout.
I completely understand why people prefer to watch videos about the game they enjoy and the one that they discovered my channel through, but there's only so much energy I can put into TF2 after all that I've used up already. I hope you - and everyone else - who enjoys my TF2 content will at least give my non-TF2 content a chance and hopefully enjoy that, too!

I recently played portal one and two again finished them. I was watching the good place the other day and had a very excited surprise when I found out Wheatley was in one of the episodes I heard the voice and I was like “I KNOW THAT VOICE”

well the long fall boots were always equipped with scouts that have the hermes hat which is the main reason why they were called "scout mccrazylegs crouch jump spam"

You still can get long fall boots and other Poker Night items, if you know someone who has it in library since if you "borrow" a game via Steam library sharing, you still get the item.

3:56 no they do not because the GLaDOS didn’t take over the facility until around the 2000’s and TF2 takes place around 1968. Aperture science existed at that time but it was run by Cave Johnson and the Ap Saper says it was given by a lady in a abandon facility. So either valve got there lore wrong or it was just a mini reference (they both would make sense though)
Apature made time machine and it went a little wrong and got the entire facility to time travel so Mann.co found it and got the ApSap from them and then they fixed the time machine and got themselves back into their timeline!
Portal 2 introduces the multiverse with infinite possibilities. The Aperture Labs in the main games is in a separate universe from the one in Tf2.

quick note relating to Poker Night 2 and it's delisting. You can still buy steam keys of the game from third party sellers and unlock that on your steam account to get the achievements. Same with Poker Night 1 if you want the Lugermorph.

Poker Night Items are possible to obtain if you have a friend already have the games in their library, convince them to lend their library and you're set.
I dont know if anyone else experienced this but while I was in a server joking around with bots I found that people were called chell glados and other things to do with aperture science

I like to think that team fortress 2 used to be like an old tv show or something so that it can technically exist in the same universe as portal and half life
I don’t care what anyone says. I absolutely take that description as canon purely because the idea that it is possible for Pyro, Gordon Freeman and Chell to be in the same room is both hilarious and awesome.
I get it Wheatley is a corrupted core used to make other stuff stupider so as a sapper next probably does stuff like uninstall anti virus on the turret or something to

It took 2 days but it was worth it cuz they go perfectly with my scout loadout
Poker Night 2 is definitely harder than Poker Night 1 somehow... I got all of the PN1 items in a single session, but grinded for ages for the PN2 ones and just gave up in the end haha
