Anybody with the desire to learn the technical side can do it...some learn faster than others but in the end if you put the time into learning...anybody can do it.
TheBestAMVsOfAllTime Technically yes, but you also need an imagination. Technic without imagination is not much to boast about. You also need feel for the style and music. Understanding of what looks right and what doesn't. I know how to make pretty much everything in this trailer. However, coming up with the style and making it look effective is a bit more complicated. You need experience. The more you edit, the more you experiment, the better you get.
Been on a public anime lobby for music for two years now, lots of editors come on it and people find some really nifty songs and suggest e, I'm so glad that a song, I suggested for so long was used in an amv albeit promo and different people xD
It makes me frustrated because I feel very limited with just Sony Vegas Pro 13 and no Adobe After Effects. I wish I could make something as good as this promo someday lol
I'm excited to see what people will come up with. But I don't think the name fits the contest xD. In my mind a "Big Contest" would have a bigger prize. 5000 Ru to US is like 100 bucks. Personally, I feel people who create AMVs have an incredible skill and deserve much more.
It's Big Contest because many people enter, not for a big prize fund lol. Money is just a little bonus...should not be the incentive in a non-profit hobby. All about the e-fame, pride and probably more importantly...just having fun.
I really want to do this, (I've made about 20 AMVs before) but my editing program is horrible compared to other AMV makers, so the end result won't be too good...

Amvs are an amateur product, we don't own the anime, it would feel morally wrong to claim more I think
