I see nothing wrong with the Kings taking Tyreke Evans because the only reason why he fell off after his rookie season was because they decided to move him to shooting guard instead of keeping him at point guard, despite his lack of shooting ability
Neil Johnson Actually, he was a Shooting Guard. But the kings moved him to Small Forward because they thought he was competent enough. I mean, I won't blame the Kings too as well. He was fast, and strong, and could defend really really well. Unfortunately though, he didn't transition well.
Injuries didn't exactly help, either

I feel like it's not fair to make fun of teams for "drafting bad". Nobody knows who's going to make it or not. Obviously there's key things to predicting future successful NBA players. But I just love how when a GM picks a late first rounder or second rounder that turns up good And gets a shit ton of credit when in reality a bunch of the good players had already been taken and that was the best player remaining. Also a lot has to do with what the player is drafted into. If you've been drafted by the Spurs or Celtics in the last few years I Guarantee you've been better off than if you got drafted to the Kings or Hawks. Imagine all the players that wouldnt have been busts if they were drafted into a different system or all the players that wouldn't have been as successful if it weren't for being drafted into a perfect situation for them.

Butter Johnson Late pick out preforming early picks = luck. If it wasn't than why didn't you pick that player with your 2 round pick in the 1st round if you knew he was going to be good. There's an amount of luck that goes into every pick.

@@mhj626 nah I disagree, because it definitely has a lot of luck. All season starting from now we get mock drafts from a range of talent evaluators. If we look back at every mock draft there would be millions of mistakes. If, the jazz had the number 1 pick they wouldn't have taken Mitchell.

First of all you cannot say that steph will be this great if he was drafted somewhere else. All of this are just big what ifs and to be honest it is hard to say that klay and kawhi will be this good if they are not on the team they are currently playing. Do you think kobe will be a legend if he was not traded to the lakers or Jordan will be the GOAT if Pippen is not traded to the bulls.
Penny maybe Steph isnt MVP level w/o Kerr, Dray, Klay, The Bay etc... BUT look at everything. Curry’s highschool stats, his college stats and success, pre kerr and klay/dray stats and success. Ex. 2013 2014 seasons where Curry avg 23 pts and around 7ish assists and was by far the best player on that team. Thats a season before Kerr and klay/dray werent all stars yet. Curry led them to the playoffs and pushed a championship spurs team to 6. Curry’s win percentage without Klay/Dray/KD is actually very good. All in all Im just saying its pretty safe to say that curry IS THE system in golden state and no matter what nba team he wouldve went to he would have been at LEAST an all star if not better.

The Sixers pick of Okafor even though it did turn out to be awful it's worth mentioning that porzingis refused to work out for the Sixers so they couldn't really take him and Sam hinkie tried to trade Okafor at the trade deadline to the Celtics for a first-round pick but the NBA rejected the trade proposal and Sam hinkie was forced to resign. If they'd had flipped him for another top 3 pick it wouldn't look so bad. Really good stuff though!

The grizzlies aren't expected to make the playoffs..but I think we will make a run for the 8 seed, an in 2020 we will only have Conley and Kyle Anderson under contract... We can spend alot of $ and make a competitive team.. that is if anyone wants to go to memphis... We may rebuild which I hope not.we will see

Greg Oden had horrible luck so we couldn't really tell how he was going to pan out...
But even a fully healthy prime Greg Oden would still be less valuable than Kevin Durant simply because of the midrange game... If Oden did pan out he would have been something akin to LaMarcus Aldridge... which ironically is a player they already had, so going for Oden was pretty dumb.
They were set at the guard positions with Steven Blake and Brandon Roy.. so it wasn't going to make sense going for guards, Aldridge was primarily a defensive player so why Oden? Horford and Durant had offensive game, they colossally fucked it up even if Oden was any good.
Yeah but at the time, greg oden was widely considered a better player but kd did turn out to be better

Coming from an excited for the first time in awhile Pelicans fan I have a love hate relationship with the draft. Especially this draft even with the “can’t miss” Zion. I really hate to sound this way but no one can tell the future and Zion can have a solid all star caliber career but as much as he has been hyped he would still be a disappointment cause he isn’t the second coming of Barkley or hell even Lebron I think most people need to realize even though they are paid millions they are still human and no one can know how the future will pan out especially so much pressure put on an 18 year old kid. That’s why no matter the record just based on the absolute turn around David Griffin has done he should be considered for executive of the year I know they haven’t even played a game and yes they got lucky the number 1 pick but seriously when AD requested a trade the future of basketball in NOLA was in question but he completely restored excitement not felt truly since CP3 was leading a damn good team

I understand that it’s easy to look at how poorly nba teams judge or choose the players that they want to help with the future of their franchise, but can you really blame them? You don’t know if the guy is going to be a bust or not! Sometimes you pick a guy thinking he’s the next LeBron James, but he becomes a complete bust. Or you take someone like Jimmy Butler who was not seen as a potential star in this league but look at him now! He’s one of the best 2 way players in the NBA! Why is it the managements fault for the players falling short of there expectations!?
