      Angst is really nice. But you also can have a look to his own separate Band called “Lindemann” some the first Album is completely in English. Crazy text. But not many videos. “Praise abort” “fish on” are English examples. New ist “Sport Frei” its a call against “Arbeit macht frei” what Hitler said but the Song is an artwork. It’s about the normal day at work. Even with lyrics hard to understand. Feel free to ask about this song

    OK, German here, (deep sigh)...
    My wife was diagnosed with stage IV cancer in 2021 and as huge Rammstein fans, we were very eager to see what their 2nd single of their upcoming album would be. Biiiig video countdown on March 10, 2022 - we did not want to be a second late with all of Germany watching, maybe the servers would shut down??
    Then, grabbing the tablet and I joined my wife on the sofa - "Zeit"... Interesting title, always good for a surprise, these guys...
    And surprised we were... Like by a 10 pound sledge to the forehead on a sunny day at the beach...
    I cannot remember being more profoundly shaken by whatever happened to me at any other point in my life. A few days before this video came out, my wife was notified that her fairytale would not have a happy end.
    So, this video reflected the situation she as the morituri and we as a family were directly affected by the impact of her illness. If we would have had the powers to turn back time, we would have given anything... 😢❤❤❤
    My wife succumbed to her illness on July 31, 2022, only a few weeks later...
    This band and their songs will always have a special place in my heart, for a multitude of reasons...

    2 weeks before my friend lost her battle with cancer I got to see her, I had managed to house sit a place right near where she was staying. This had just come out & we were just standing there hugging in a sunbeam rocking as I was singing this softly to her. It was the perfect moment & I'm so thankful for it. Our last words were "I love you". Her partner called me one night saying that she had a steep decline & the dr had just been & she was on morphine. Kept the line open. I heard her parents & brothers. 3 years later she slipped away with a smile on her face.
    This will always remind me of her, it's been a long 18 months

    3 figures (Zeithüter) are directly inspired by "The Norms" in Norse mythology. It's so close to the mythology I'm sure it's not coincidental. Quite beautiful meaning and lots of connections with the video (3 figures, past present future, time, fate, the "sand tree" in the middle with women given birth can be a representation of Yggdrasil (world tree), they are present at birth, etc.).

    I'm really looking forward to it. If you liked ZEIT, you will definitely also like the ballads OHNE DICH (Without you) and STIRB NICHT VOR MIR (Don't die before i do) feat. Sharleen Spiteri from the band TEXAS fell.The new song/videos are very profound: ZEIT (concerns us all), ADIEU (it's about farewell, some say they sing about the death of a good friend of the band, some say the band is processing the difficult time during the recording in 2001 for the 3. Album MUTTER, which almost led to the band breaking up) ANGST (influence of the media), ZICKZACK (very funny video about plastic surgery and not to forget RADIO (this is a personal topic of the band, which connects them with most East Germans. It is about banning western music in the former GDR before the Berlin Wall fell. The band members lived in the former GDR). The old songs are all great, but the newer ones are somehow more adult. I'm looking forward to further Rammstein reactions. The channel " Educated Marine" has English subtitles. Greetings from Germany and Merry Christmas 🎅🎄💝🎁

    The 3 hooded figures exist in several (Greek, Roman, Norse...) mythologies, and they're deities responsible for shaping the course of human lives. In Norse, they're the Norns, Urd, Verdandi and Skuld, in ancient Greek, it's the Fates, Clotho, Lachesis and Atropos. Clotho spins the "thread" of human life, Lachesis dispenses it and Atropos cuts it (thus symbolizing the moment of death). Please check out "Angst", "Adieu", and all the other great videos they've made. All official videos have subtitles (automatically generated) that are quite good, better than the one you just read (ok, you get the general meaning, but there are poetic gems and should have been translated differently). Like "Ohne Dich", great song and video, too. Some great songs don't have any video, unfortunately, like "Dalai-Lama" (incredible song). But they're obviously very educated, erudite guys who draw inspiration from very deep phylosophical subjects, classical literature, history, true crime, and sometimes they poke fun at some human flaws... I think the comments are deactivated because of people who are easily offended and who would flood the comment sections with hateful rants... Who needs that, right?

This song has been on my list on replay quite a lot since last March when I lost my mother. I wish I had more time with her I wish i could have done more for her but It wasn't meant to be. Sometimes you have to listen to it hundreds of times and extremly think about it, together with the video, its crazy.

    especially when you have something to relate with, like my mothers and my fathers death and struggle.
    My mother had cancer 3 times and the last one, she knew that she will die and almost exactly when, my father was in coma for several weeks and we know that he could hear us, but he couldnt react, the only reaction we saw was, puls, breathing, uncontroled eyemovement when we discussed a topic nearby where he normaly wants to say something!

    @wallemahatma Před 5 měsíci +4

    The most underrated scene in this movie is the harvest scenery, I think. Pretty sure someone stated that already somewhere, I just don‘t have the ZEIt to read them all… ;)
    The harvest scene is cramped in between the wild crescendo and the heartbreaking death of Olivers daughter, the moment, when everybody is oberwhelmed by this „flip“ of the timeline. It‘s just the reverse order when the child dies before the parent and it is the most devastating thing imaginable if you have to bury your own child. That‘s when everyone cracks and shed some tears.
    We are released in the harvest scene right after the wild, struggling crescendo, the music stops, the late summer scenery is warm and peaceful, Tills voice gets soft and calm. A scenery of timeless(!) beauty (zeitlose Schönheit). Because that is the way, mankind did bring in the harvest for ages, for its entire settled history. And yet they are using the scythe, the tool of the grim reaper (in german: „Sensenmann“, literally „scythe man“).
    And I guess it is again on purpose, that the visuals remind you of the amish people, whose way of life seems to be a „time capsule“, because they refuse to „go with time“. And they do have some german ancestry, don‘t they?
    I‘m sure someone else pointed this out way better than I did, I apologize for iterations (and bad english). But these details don‘t get clear on first vision. You can‘t just do a „first reaction“ to a masterpiece of this dimension and realise every detail in it. I watched it several dozen times and still discover new gems. To be honest, some would have never come to my mind without these comment sections.
    But as we know this 40 year old guy, he will show this movie to all his friends one by one to see them flabbergasted, right?
    Cool T-Shirt, btw.

    The sentence "we keep dying until we live" means, that even before we actually are born (in the womb), we are already on our path to death. And the next sentence "we die alive to death" means similar, that death as our destiny is already sure despite being still alive. No one alive is able to skip death. Our bodies are even in a constant state of dying (every second million of body cells die and are replaced).

    Great reaction! It's like this: at first you only think the music is great. Then you discover how the lyrics are. When you talk to other people about their meaning, you realize how many layers there can be. Even your own mood or life situation can change the meaning. Yes, that's exactly why the fans love them.

    You've got to watch Adieu too, its about the same concept: passing on/saying goodbye.
    The music video of Adieu is also a mini movie in the theme of matrix/the dark knight/joker of the band members stuck in the purgatory.
    The song is also colossal, they played as a closing song in the 22/23 european stadium tour

    I think had two perfect moments and quite a few great ones I fondly remember. But the great ones don't even come close to the perfect ones. One when I was at school, like 15-16 maybe. It was the last day before christmas break. I got the results from a physics exam back that went way better than I had tought. I had made plans with my friends to watch Lord of the Rings part 1 in the cinema that night and I was mega hyped for that movie. We got loge balcony seats reserved for it (yes our local cinema had those, it's like 100 yrs old now). I took a detour going home to pick up a novel for school that I had ordered at the local book store. I browsed for a while, especially their video game section and when I left with the book, it had gone dark (it's pitch black at like 5 pm here in winter) with christmas lights coming on and it had started snowing. I do not quite now why. But in that moment, bliss was all I could feel and I am so very glad my brain made a hard copy of that day... The other moment I was slightly older and involved my first girl friend. But I feel that's quite enough sharing for one comment 😀

    Please, next time turn on "automatic English subtitles", this would help you so much more understanding the song rather than reading them before or after the song.
    Steps
    First: Turn on captions, which will be in German.
    Second: click on settings icon next to CC and click on "Subtitles/CC"
    Third: Click on "English (auto-generated)"
    Fourth: enjoy the video with English subtitles

    • @SmeagolTheGreat
      @SmeagolTheGreat Před 5 měsíci +2

      Yeah, but auto generated subtitles are often very hit and miss (more miss) when it comes to lyrical content. A real bilingual person will translate the meaning way better.

    • @cleancoder3838
      @cleancoder3838 Před 5 měsíci

      @@SmeagolTheGreatThis doesn't matter if the viewer isn't bilingual (as most Americans are) and knowing what the content you're currently watching is about is far more important than an accurate translation. If accuracy is important, anyone is free to read the lyrics, which (in the case of Ramstein) are not always translatable literally

    • @SmeagolTheGreat
      @SmeagolTheGreat Před 5 měsíci +2

      @@cleancoder3838 But it does matter, even more so if the viewer is not bilingual. At least this way he or she knows the words should be mostly correct and not some rubbish the yt translator misinterpreted, as so often happens. If the words on screen don't make sense, it's even more distracting than pausing and reading the correct ones from a website imo.

      I must interject between you two : the English auto translations are sketchy, but help people who do not know any German. Best example of sketchiness is from Mein herz brennt - the verse .. die Augenlieder zu erpressen.. - erpressen CAN mean, in corporate jargon, "to blackmail", but it's moronic to say .. blackmail the eyelids.. (how can you even), when the very word is so similar in English : er-pressen : to press (down), so : I have the power to press down the eyelids, which is self explanatory.
      Well, maybe, for me it's easier, being fluent in 3 languages from 3 language groups (Slavic, Germanic, Romanic), and I hear similarities in roots and sounds and connect the dots...

    TL (Till Lindemann) sings High German, by the way, so the normal translation should work halfway. I am German and of course I would be very happy if you could experience Rammstein in full.
    I agree though, subtitles distract from everything else. But Rammstein always has a chorus and you could read the verses individually. They are profound and even as a native speaker, I have to listen to the songs more often.
    Maybe I'm just too cerebral sometimes.
    I recommend "Mein Herz brennt" (Piano Version) ("my heart is burning") to you. A really different direction of their art, just TL and the piano as background music to Till's acting.
    Best regards from Germany

    One of my favorite things about Black Pegasus reacting to all these videos is that you can tell how much all these new influences are making him even more mature in his artistic taste (not only music) and you can feel his mind is going full speed at 200%. He not only wants to understand what he experiences, he wants to digest everything and pour his new sensibilities into his own art and I cannot wait for the fruits of his efforts...

    "Zeit" (time) is the title track of their last album so far. That album is created under the impression of personal losses of the band members. And in almost all tracks of that album there is a melancholic touch, even in the upbeat and funny tracks. A central line in the lyrics of this song is "Zeit, bitte bleib steh'n, bleib steh'n" (time, please stop, stand still). Of course that is not possible. It's about the unstoppability of time.
