Thanks to a facelift late in 2011, the A4 Avant is now better to drive and kinder to the environment than ever. All of the engines have been made more efficient, the suspension has been tweaked to enhance the car's comfort on the road and the cabin -- which was already one of the best in this class -- has been made even better. Thankfully, the large and practical boot remains intact, cementing the A4 Avant's position as one of the finest all-round premium estates.

Been buying Audis since 1986 and have never been sorry. Own a 2010 Avant with 168000 miles. Love, love love this car. Looking forward to keeping it for perhaps another 5 years.
Well the Audi A4 looks much better than both Mercedes and BMW, and that, to me, is more important than slightly better handling or comfort. Yes I own one.

Wouldn.t it make one feel slightly twisted to sit in the middle seat with both seat on one side of the transmission tunnel? I've rarely sat in this seat so experience doesn't serve me well here...

Have you ever tried to put left foot on left side, and right foot to right side of transmission tunel when you are sitting on the middle seat? I am serious...
She doing great reviews, always comparisons between Audi and BMW are difficult because the concepts are different and at the end your are comparing apples with bananas. The Audi Avant is a great car and very reliable, comfort and nice performance, the tunnel in the chassis is an issue on those compact cars where the Quattro option is available and for cost saving issues the front door wheels ones get the same chassis, putting in compromise the comfort.

The oil problem only happened with the 2009 to 2011 but now no problem.
100% recommend the audi

Hello everyone, I'm going to buy a model from 2012 and I know that before that time there were some problems with engines in those cars, especially in 1.8 tfsi. I also got some information that all the malfunctions have been improved. Do you have any information and couyld you let me know, of course based on your experience, which engine is better 1.8 tfsi or 2.0 tdi, produced after 2012. Thanks a lor for your help

The 5'4" and 1/2 review :D, but it's still cute that she points that fact every time :D.
Im considering one of these second hand. Carwow reviews are usually good, but this one was poor. Boot mentioned to be on the small side with no model mentioned to compare with. No mention of visability, no mention of mpg comparison with petrol. No mention of what the gearbox is like. No mention of performanace. No mention of storage or infotainment. No mention of which trim line is best, apart from the sline ride issues. The massive transmission tunnel is not a problem because you can put your feet to the side, what if you have man sized feet?

Estate car buyers might want to watch a dedicated estate car review, because some cars make sense as estates (eg. Volvo V70) but do not work out as well as sedans. (Volvo S80).

I don't know why, but everytime I get the middle seat, I put one foot in the left footwell and the other in the right footwell...

Fuel is better in the BMW, what numbers are you looking at? the manufacturers or real world testing? Audii A6 sedan vs BMW 5-series sedan testing showed that the Audi was a few centiliters better even with Quattro and the Bmw didnt even have xDrive. You can buy the 3-series and A4 with the same 6cylinder diesel engines used in that test.
I'm sorry but for practicality I much prefer the VW Passat. Also price and to me it looks much better too but I'm more for practicality and price..

That middle seating position with the feet on the foot well... I always find it awkward.
Too bad it's not the V6 TDI Quattro, but at least it's not the TDI 143 bhp. Anyway, great news! Rebecca will be testing the new Dacia Sandero!

Been Studying the 2.7 V-6 ,W/ Turbos,As New Ones Are Out of My Price Range.01-06' S Are Pretty Reasonable,But @ Turbo Replacement,Entire Eng.Has to be Taken Out,I Understand.U' d Think the Germans Could Have Figured Out A Way Think That Out To Prevent That Kind of Major Labor Bill .Looked @ 0ne @ Independent.Dealer That Wanted Them Fixed Properly,So Sent it to German Repair Shop That Cost Them $4600 for Parts & Labor & Previous Owner Replaced Expensive Air SUSPENSION.W/ Reg.Shocks,As Seems Parts _& Labor Costs in Range of $650-750 for EACH SHOCK on Air Shock Susp.ALMOST Bought it Till I Realized Odometer Wasn't t Functioning Properly,So Who Knows What Actual Mileage Was?
Get a Quattro version, kills 3 series for sure.

Maybe BMW series 6 (X6, 645...) are a bit better than other one, but Audi is the best of german cars! I tried once a MINI... that was awful, like an old Trabant 30 years ago... unassuming, tight and plastic!
So, my ranking is:
1 - Audi
2 - Mercedes
3 - BMW

ala baa first renault motors are great and i'll always prefer clio over a3 and megane over a4 for the money!+mini is the bulshit,not RENAULT!
They used Peugeot engines and gearboxes. Never had a link between BMW and renault.

a6 - aluminium body components ... alot of the advantages come from that which doesn't apply to a4
Man, when I look at this car, I really don't care how much better the 3 series drives. A4 avant is absolutely gorgeous inside and out, and I am sorry but with your family inside you won't be drifting on every corner, your wife and kids would much prefer the classier interior and sexy body shape.
the XF sportbake is not in the same category / class as the A4 avant, try the A6 avant !! id still take the XF too over A6, E class and 5 series ALL DAY LONG...........
