  • These toasters are hand made and each element can easily be swapped out and replaced.
The repair itself is reasonably simple to carry out, but if you're at all unsure about doing the repair its probably best to send your toaster back to Dualit for it to be repaired for you, and don't forget, PAT testing is particularly important if the toaster is in a work place.
For the elements, you're best contacting Dualit as they're twice the price on Amazon. You can order repairs online at www.dualit.com... or over the phone at 01293 652500.
You can also send your toaster back to Dualit for repair, at the following address:
Repairs Department, Dualit Ltd, County Oak Way, Crawley, West Sussex RH11 7ST

What about redesigning the toaster to have steel plates and induction coils in close proximity driven off a high frequency generator operating at 150 KHZ so when the unit is running the coils are energised causing the steel plates to heat up and radiate heat that will toast the bread.

I have a DLT4pa which is the 4 slice version. This toaster was purchased only two years ago and has worked perfectly until last week. The problem is that the element takes ages to get red and when it does, it's not that bright. 2 slices of bread have always toasted perfectly when set to 5 but now has to be set on 7+ to get the same result. It's as though the element is not getting full voltage. I've spoken to Dualit and they say this model cannot be repaired, which is very disappointing. If you've any clue as to what the fix would be, I'd love to hear from you. Thanks. Stuart

@@DubiousEngineering Lovely part of the country. I've spoken again to Dualit in the hope that they might exchange it even though it's 2.5 years old but regret not. I forgot to mention that the failure happened after we had a loss of power in our area on Friday July 2 at midnight. The power was off for about 4 hours. It was Saturday morning that the toaster failed to toast the bread at the usual setting. So I suppose it's possible a power surge could have damaged the circuit board. It is still toasting at setting 7 so I'll just live with it for now. Coincidentally our Neff microwave has faulted in a similar way too. Thanks for your interest. Regards Stuart.

Update on my malfunctioning Dualit toaster. After my last post 3 weeks ago the toaster got worse. Had to toast with it set to 8 and then some more when it popped up. However, yesterday it popped up presenting totally burnt bread, so I toasted another 2 slices at setting 5 which is where it always worked perfectly and when it popped up the bread was perfectly toasted. It's a complete mystery to me. Must be aliens! Regards Stuart.

What ! No encrypted message revealed on the toast , a clue to find the hidden treasure. Spray the bread with lemon juice before toasting. Or maybe the clue was the brown bread .
