  • OK Guys, it's time to have a look at the game last night between the Boston Bruins and the Florida Panthers! The Panthers won this game by a score of 3-2.. Putting a stranglehold on the series as it heads to game 5.. However.. There was a very controversial goal scored by villain Sam Bennett in the 3rd period.. and there are alot of people right now who think that the Bruins got robbed here.. What are your thoughts?

Bad call by the officials but not solely responsible for the Bruins' loss. They got outplayed for the last 2 periods and, as stated, Swayman is the only reason they were still in the game.

Montreal went to the finals by being outshot like in 90% of the playoffs, and probably outplayed big a solid 75%. They still made it to the finals. And that was with the many odd refereeing cases, like Brendan Gallagher being held for about 20 seconds with no calls or Nick Suzuki being manhandled and sucker punched right in front of Chris Lee Vs. Vegas and him doing absolutely nothing about it.
      The game is rigged.

First of all, Coyle was already in the crease in front of swaymans face moments before Bennett touched him, swayman would have bumped into coyle either way since he was already deep in his crease which would 100% impede his movement well before Bennett ever touched him, the issue is did Bennett bump Coyle into the goalie before Coyle was ever in front of his work space but it doesn’t matter when Coyle was already impeding moments before the sliding/blocking space of your goalie. Coyle being in the crease well before is already a death sentence for getting a call overturned. The fact of the matter is, at the end of the day bad calls have been made all series on both sides but a few extra calls isn’t going to help the bruins when they recorded the same amount of shots all series long as the panthers had in just one game yesterday. The only cure for a bum team who puts as many shots on net all series long as the cats did in one game, is a golf club! 🤣 maybe if the bruins worried less about fighting and more about putting shots on goal the shots on goal would be far closer

Would the call being reversed change the outcome of the game? Unfortunately we’ll never know. I feel for the fans because I’d be pissed off as well, but you gotta expect more from your team. Shit happens and you’re gonna get calls against you whether it’s in the first period or late in the third. You gotta play the full 60 minutes. 18 shots on Bob (whether they’re high quality shots or not) is not gonna be enough to beat him. Not having Bergeron has been the biggest difference between this year’s Bs and last year (in my opinion).

I've seen goalies get touched, shrug it off, wait a few seconds, set themselves and then clearly miss the puck resulting in a goal, that gets call back due to goalie interference. I've also seen goalies get outright tripped by an opposing forward, and the ensuing goal stands.

    As a Czech watching NHL...
I need to say first, that I am a Boston fan, clearly because of Pasta and I wish him that cup one time. On the other hand, I think, Panthers are just better team. They brutally outshooted Boston. They create turnovers, playing more agressively, they are just better than Boston. But that call on Bennett's goal is just a nonsense. They should've not count it.

Good video. Loved the commentary, even though you don’t like the Bruins. I agree that the SOG count was severely lopsided. At this point I would be happier to see Bennet carried off the ice on a stretcher in Game 5, than the B’s getting a W.

A few things to mention...first, no Brad Marchand for Boston takes away arguably their best player and offensive catalyst...second and most importantly, this HAS TO BE CALLED...it's not even a question as to whether or not it was or wasn't goalie interference, the bottom line is the goaltender MUST be given the full ability to make a save without someone physically stopping or impeding their movement from post to post, and you could say in the crease in general this tends to be the case. Clearly in this scenario, Croyle is cross checked in the back and he lands on Swayman DUE TO THE CROSS CHECK IN THE BACK...no ands ifs or buts about it..,this goal NEVER SHOULD HAVE COUNTED, AND IN TURN, BENNETT SHOULD HAVE BEEN MADE TO SERVE A TWO MINUTE MINOR FOR CROSS CHECKING OR INTERFERENCE WITH THE GOALTENDER, TAKE YOUR PICK. Typically, the officials have the option to either wave off a goal due to goalie interference, OR both wave off the goal AND call a 2 minute minor for interference or for cross checking in this case (either would do)....the other option is to call nothing at all and count the goal as they chose to do in this case, and in my opinion, they completely blew this call all together, which will dramatically affect the series as a whole...who knows if Florida scores another goal, much less do we know if Boston would have scored on a power play as a result of the right call being made. As an ex-official and player for 15 years up into college, this call is brutal to say the least because it will affect the series dramatically, and it puts the Bruins behind the eight ball...they now have to win 3 straight games to win the series, and that will be awful hard to do against one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference. I wish this wouldn't have taken place at all, but it did, and now the Boston Bruins fan base has every right to be upset with the officials, the Florida Panthers likely make them sick in many different ways all together between last year and this year, and after the season, I think they should go on strike!! (LOL...that would be hilarious!)

First coyle is given a roughing penalty when a leafs player sucker punches him, then the Bennett dirty play is ignored, then seriously suspect calls in the last game, now this?! Which directly contradicts how the league handled the 2 overturned Tampa goals less than 2 weeks ago! When NBA refs did the same thing it eventually came out they were gambling on games and using their authority to impact the games so they’d win their bets. It’s just too often and too one sided to be mistakes or coincidences.

I can't help but think that had the Leafs miraculously passed the first round against those bruins, they'd be sent home swept away by those Panthers by now. They were mostly outplayed and tamed by these Bruins who are now experiencing the same under those Panthers paws. But hey, who knows ? maybe Swaysway can get 'em a game 5 win just for their torture to last some more, cats like to toy with their preys.

Just look at the 2 goalie interference calls from the Lightning/Panthers series weeks earlier where the 2 Lightning goals were called back. It's the inconsistency that leaves most hockey fans baffled as to wtf a goalie interference penalty actually is.

border line call. definitely wasn't flagrant, the problem is how open the net was when the puck squirted out, making the push look worse than it actually was. idk, i guess you have to make the interference call if it assisted in the goal.

As a person with no skin in this series, I agree that Bennett gently nudged him out of the way. But I'm not sure of how the rule is stated. Considering the ridiculous amount of things uncalled in NHL playoffs, that seemed really minor in comparison. Swayman wouldn't have been able to get over in time to stop it anyway. NHL officiating is completely inconsistent. It's a joke.

  • @tonyk501
    @tonyk501 Před 14 dny

The reverse angle clearly shows Bennett nailing Marchand in the jaw with a disguised punch to the jaw.
No fan of Marchand at all, but Bennett should have been suspended for that 100%.
The NHL also needs to confirm what constitutes "goalie interference" with more of a "black-and-white" definition.
If it's your own player that shoves or cross-checks an opposing player into his own goalie, that should not be goalie interference.
If it's an opposing player that shoves or cross-checks a goalie's own teammate into him, then that should be goalie interference 100% every time regardless of how good or bad it looks.
Other goalie interference calls would simply fall into the definition of an opposing player sticking himself into the blue paint of the crease in order to prevent a goaltender from making a save.
    It's really not rocket science.
Does a goalie have a chance to make a "physically unimpeded" save or not?
    Yes or No ?!
    Duh.
