    If Habs land a solid RD I wouldn’t cry about it.
    Only have Mailloux and Reinbacher in pipeline.
    If they flip a LD or 2 with some picks for a good top 6 winger and take a highly touted RD at draft, it’s a win

    Probably a a hot take, but I borderline want Iginla more than Lindstrom. Injury worries me, and I wonder how much of his scoring happened due to him being man size in a kid league. I just wonder if his game translates.
    Iginla though, something about him screams NHL translatability. I might only see him as a 60 point guy, but the best kind of 60 point guy. The guy you win cups with because of his all around play.
    At the end of the day, any of Lindstrom, Demidov or Iginla I’ll be really excited for

      David St-Louis from EP's analysis is excellent and relevant. It sums up everything I observed so far on Tij Iginla.
      The key is everything about Iginla is transferable to the NHL.
      Iginla is my pick even before Lindstrom but for Demidov I am reserved because the material and visuals is a deficient.

    I was really teed off when we took Reinbacher last year but IF we can't get Lindstrom or Demidov OR that other tall Russian I would be happy with Parehk because imo he wil be an IMPACT D man where as Reinbacher will just be an average ho hum decent D man.Everyone raving about Guhle but he is also imo a ho hum everyday D man nothing amazing we need IMPACT players.
    I heard talk of Sennecke or Cataan maybe the tall Russian winger but I don't see them as impact players.Management SHOULD already be working on the draft 2 years from now trading some of our defense assets to try and get The young 16 yr old Canadian kid McKenna,
    McKenna already at 16 is noticeably better than TijIginla so that tells me Tij is not good enough he will be a second line player but with low impact.

    • @THEFIX709
      @THEFIX709  Před 29 dny +1

      If the habs are sure on Demidov I’d consider it. Mathesons value is at an all time high. I don’t think he fits with Chicago though, could see a Romanov move where they deal for an asset and then flip that asset maybe.. I’m also not sure they value Demidov that much over Lindstrom who they could get at 5 without moving the asset.

  • @MrSebby08
    @MrSebby08 Před 29 dny

    If Demidov and Lindstrom are gone, my money is on KONSTA HELENIUS. Very under the radar, but if the last two drafts are any indication, the Habs are looking for smart, two-way players (regardless of position) that are close to NHL-ready (Slaf & Popcorn). KH is already a pro player having played more than 80 games in Liiga at a relatively high level. We shouldn’t be surprised when Kent goes off the board.

    • @THEFIX709
      @THEFIX709  Před 29 dny +1

      Might be a solid pick and certain people are very high on him, but I get shades of KK, and that scares the Sh&t out of me! Lol

    • @MrSebby08
      @MrSebby08 Před 29 dny +1

      Oh I hear ya! But I see his floor as more of a Lehkonen than KK. Smart, responsible player with some NHL-level offensive skills.
      I worry that Sennecke and Catton are going to be boom or bust while Iginla is certainly a very good player, is the expectation that he’ll be a beast of a physical player buoyed by his dad’s reputation?

    • @THEFIX709
      @THEFIX709  Před 29 dny +1

      The name definitely isn’t hurting him, but I think his play down the stretch is what has given him the recent surge! With that name might come some unfair expectations though, add the pressure cooker that is Montreal and that’s a whole lot on a kid!

    • @bajjanitor
      @bajjanitor Před 29 dny

      Him being pretty dogshit at hockey is probably the main reason of that. If you want a great goal scorer then I think it would be easier to pick any of the great hockey players, with good physically attributes and talent, and have them shoot the puck for a few hours a day for a few years, than it is to teach Eiserman how to play hockey.

    Habs trade Mailloux and their Winnipeg 1st round pick for a very good top 6 forward???

    • @THEFIX709
      @THEFIX709  Před 26 dny

      If you could get Marner for Xhekaj and a first I’d agree to pull the trigger! But that’s not happening, at best you get a middle 6 forward back, similar maybe to Newhook and honestly that’s not what this roster needs. Xhekaj is a middle/bottom pair D no doubt about that, but he also brings a physical presence that nobody else on this roster brings, if you move him for middle forward depth than you create a hole in your lineup and don’t fill your most pressing need. To get Marner you’d at least have to add one of Dach, Newhook or Mike Matheson to the package and even then it’s only a maybe..
